Born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, Li, 32, is one of China's most successful actresses today. A graduate of the Shanghai Drama Institute, she won "best actress" honors at the Huabiao Award for her role in the movie "The Knot." She collaborated with stars such as Jet Li and Jackie Chan in "The Forbidden City," which was released in April and won her critical acclaim.

More recently, Li had her wax replica unveiled at Shanghai Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. She is the first and the only Chinese actress to be featured in the museum.

She joins other well known Chinese celebrities such as directors Zhang Yimou and Feng Xiaogang and actor Jackie Chan at the museum. Li is currently focusing on developing her new musical career. She released her debut album in July.
