No, that is just muscle cramps.

Does gel cause excessive hair loss? The receding of hairlines? And eventually, baldness?
    Don;'t know the correct answer.

It may be possible that certain hair gel may cause you to lose like 100 hairs/day but i don't think that is going to be the sole cause of baldness.

And what's the normal amount of hair for a normal human male to lose a day without him applying gel?

You can apply some heat-lotions to help with the cramp.

Magnesium helps with cramps, as some cramps may be related to electrolyte imbalance.

Quinine was widely used for cramps in the past, and it can also be found in gin and tonic!

Han solo wants to apologize to Da Fox, as i don't know how to fix this.

More of this is natural process, and is an indication of your strong testosterone.!

Some may be due to hormonal imbalance such as cushing's, thyroid's disease etc.
If you want, a simple blood test with your local doctor can check on those.

otherwise, there are scores of creams and hair shampoos out there that claims to promote hair growth, i don't know how effective they are.

My dad and grandfathers are all long gone, so I dunno whether genetically I am predisposed to losing hair, but my mom says they all did not have baldness probs so I think it is more likely environmental factors.

I am not losing hair in bunches, it's just getting thin. I don't even know when exactly the thinning started, it may have gone as far as starting from 10 yrs ago when I became under a lot of stress for several years as certain serious things out of my control happened.

Has anyone tried those shampoos claiming to give you thicker healthier hair and grow hair?

God I don't wanna have to start rubbing Rogaine in my scalp LOL!

    Saw palmetto any good?

Also, can weight training cause hair loss? I read somewhere that weight training can boost the amount of testosterone and cause hair loss.

Secondly, with regards to your friends problem, passing wind is a natural thing. I think the bowel produces about 1.5L of gas a day. Personally, as long someone who had passed wind made a polite mention of it, it would not be a problem for someone like me.

One thing would be to try and reduce certain food that increases gas productions e.g. foods that are high in sugar or oil, as this may not be completely absorbed, and are then broken-down by the bacteria in the large bowels producing gases.

I'm sure other ppl here may have other suggestions.

I think that I never thank you properly for your answer... So here I go... Xie xie nie, doc!! X)

I tell my friend about what you wrote... well, your explanations were a little bit too complicated for me, so I simplified it quite a bit... he, he... I just told her : 'Eat better and you will get better!'... Don't know if there is any change in her situation though...

By the way, thanks for the expression... I didn't know that to pass wind = to fart... In fact, I didn't even know about the verb fart before I asked someone... he, he...

    Anyway, thanks again...

Doctors are very knowledgeable... I am very impressed... (Clap with respect...) Will still continue to support your thread... really love reading it... he, he...

when i saw the title of the thread, ha, I tot's it's a korean series.. LOLL.. only know it's a real clinic when u mentioned it on how to be a mod thread..

wanna ask something bout thalassemia.. would you be able to detect that u are a carrier for this disease through normal blood test? Or there's specific kinds of test? My idea of normal blood test would just be maybe the levels of trace minerals, RBC count, platelet etc. does dat give any indication to whether u r a carrier or not? Say, will they take a look at ur RBC shape to check? Cos i take blood tests everywhere to check PCI status, and also for student visa, and they never said anything bout my blood, hence i assume it's perfectly fine.

    http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/eyecancer.html

Primary intraocular cancers are cancers that start inside the eyeball. Melanoma is the most common primary intraocular cancer in adults, followed by primary intraocular lymphoma. In children, retinoblastoma (a cancer arising from cells in the retina) is the most common primary intraocular cancer, and medulloepithelioma is the next most common. Retinoblastoma is discussed in a separate American Cancer Society document "Retinoblastoma." Medulloepitheliomas are extremely rare and are discussed briefly below.

Secondary intraocular cancers are cancers that have spread to the eye from another part of the body. The most common cancers that spread to the eye are breast and lung cancers. This occurs quite often when these diseases metastasize (spread). Usually these cancers spread to the part of the eyeball called the uvea.

Other rare eye tumors includes Medulloepithelioma and Primary Intraocular Lymphoma.

What Are the Key Statistics About Eye Cancer?

The American Cancer Society estimates that about 2,340 new cases of all primary intraocular cancers (eye and orbit) will be diagnosed in the year 2007. Most (around 1,300 to 1,800), but not all of these will be melanomas, with lymphomas being the next most common. Both of these cancers more often start in other parts of the body. Over 90% of melanomas start in the skin, while lymphomas are more likely to begin in lymph nodes.

Primary eye cancers can occur at any age, but most cases occur in people over age 50. The incidence of eye melanomas has been stable or may have dropped slightly over the last 25 years. An estimated 220 Americans will die from cancer of the eye during the year 2007.

Cancers that spread to the eye from another part of the body (secondary eye cancers) are actually more common than primary eye cancer.

Doesn;t sound like a korean series.

Yes, you can check for thalassemia through a blood test.

It invovles serum electrophoresis. Ppl with thalassaemia and also with the carriers have a different hemoglobin configuration which can be tested.

    it does sounds korean.. haha

oo, so i take it that the normal blood test checking for your Hep A/B and Aids status will not include electrophresis.. and have to specifically request the doctor to check for that right?

i should probably get a check up, but i'm sure asking someone on spcnet is just as good!

i have a slight red bump on my face. i think it started out as a pimple, but the pimple came and went and the bump is still there. it's flat and pink, and has been there for months, if not years. and now, it got joined by another right next to it. what could it be and how can i get rid of it?

i always think the worst, but i don't think i have skin cancer. i'm so pale, i'm not even a make up shade. and i don't usually go out in the sun.

    any clues?
