Well, you can wait for Han Solo's response, but when we learned about contraceptives...if you're referring to the pill, it's 95 to 99.9 percent effective.

u’re supposed to take the pill daily and at the same time every day to enhance the pill’s effect.Originally Posted by x0_jenniee
in addition, there is something called the emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) or the “morning after pill” that u can take after having unprotected sex or sex before using birth control pill to prevent pregnancy. it can work up to 3 days or 5 days later (i’m not sure on the exact info. since some experts will advise u 3 days, while others say 5 days)
Dr. HS, please feel free to correct me, if I’m wronged.![]()

Bellamia is correct, you need to take it on a daily basis. If you miss one, then consider yourself not to be protected, and pleasse use other contraceptive methods e.g. condom.
The other thing is that depending on your menstrual cycle, you may need to take the pill for certain days before you are "protected".
Now regarding th morning after pill, it is not as effective as the regular contraceptive pill. Levonorgestrel-containing OCP reduces expected pregnancy by 89%.

Hhm, pretty hard for me to diagnose without seeing it, as dermatology is mostly about seeing and feeling the skin to make the diagnosis.Originally Posted by pemberly

I suspected impetigo as you had it after acne, but after all these questions it doesn;t really sound like it. ?Rosesea as my less likely diagnosis.

P/s: Tell me what you think after seeing that algorithm
ha ha, i went through the whole list and it's none of the above. i know it's not rosesea, and, like i said, there are no symptoms. that's probably why i haven't gone to the doctor. it doesn't bother me. it's just pink, small, and raised. it doesn't itch, scale, pus, grow, get darker, etc. so it's not really a rash either. just a small bump, 2mm big.Originally Posted by Han Solo

I need some help.
I woke up this morning with this pain in my mouth, felt like my nostrils were so dry. When I swallow it hurts so much! It's not the throat. I don't have a really stuffy nose but my breathing gets heavy at times. I feel light headed, and at times I think I'm burning up.And I'm sleepy too. My eyes hurt, it's not red nor is it watery. I hear weird noises, and I lose concentration.

How do you take the oral contraceptive pill?
In a single packet of pills there are exactly enough pills for one month. Each packet contains 21 hormone pills and 7 sugar pills. A pill should be taken every day. Ideally, you should take the first pill on the first day of your period. This is because your period is a sign that that you are not pregnant already and therefore you can be sure to prevent pregnancy if you start then. However, if you do start later than the first day of your period, you should know that it will take seven consecutive pills to provide you full cover against pregnancy.
The seven sugar pills or non-hormone pills are there to give women a monthly bleed, to mimic the natural period. The bleed comes about by not taking hormone pills after 21 days of taking the hormone pills. The sugar pills are there to continue regular practice of taking a pill a day during this break. You are still covered from pregnancy during this break. There is no harm in taking hormone pills continuously, however, it is recommended that women do have a bleed every 3-4 months.
What happens if you forget to take an oral contraceptive pill?
If you miss one pill, or if you start one day late, take one pill the next day and continue to take pills as usual. You should still be covered from pregnancy, so long as you do not miss any more pills in the next seven days. If you miss more than one pill, take one pill as soon as you remember and continue to take pills as usual. Do not take all the pills you have missed. It will take seven consecutive days to build up full protection against pregnancy. If you do not want to become pregnant during this time, abstain from intercourse or use condoms for the next seven days.
