So I went to the dermatologist a couple of weeks ago and asked about some hyperpigmentation that I was getting on my skin. He said it was due to my skin getting inflammed and afterwards it would leave some skin hyperpigmented. Anyone heard of this before?

He prescribed to me this alcloetasone dipropionate ointment to apply to skin. So far no results....how long does it take to see some results??

Blood type specific diet is a baloney as far as i'm concerned.

    To yittz,

Green sputum really means the destruction of leucocytes- it can really be bacterial (mostly) or viral. The high neutrophil count tends to favor a bacterial type infection.

Secondly, do not worry about the anti-inflammatory dampening out the body's response - it is to prevent the over-active inflammation that causes all the discomfort.

Vegetarian diet is quite ok for the body if u take the right stuff in... soy beans, tofu... you know crap like that contain some of the proteins in meat.. or just take those extra vitamins that you can't get from meat...

the only major thing that bothers me is the texture and the taste... i've always been an avid meat eater (sorry to all the cows, pigs, chicken, duck, rabits hell sorry to most animals cuzz i've eating alot of them haha)... meat doesn't really have a distict taste (except for some types of meat)... what we're really tasting is the ingrident and the texture of the meat... and it's GOOD... i probably can never give up meat... but props to those vegies eater... vegies stuff taste like crap (majority of them)

blood type diet is actually working as far as i know... i've read some books on it... never follow it because belive it or not i do not know my blood type haha... HOWEVER my biology teacher in highschool loves this idea and follows it on a tight leash, her family is doing it too and she's healthy (if you see the guns on her you'll say she's healthy too)... her whole family are active sports people, and they know a bit about dieting/exersising.. i'll trust her when it comes to that crap... although i have one question... any ways to tell your blood type witout goijng to the doctor? cuzz i hate doctors.

Go donate blood. They will check your blood for blood type, rhesus and other stuff.

To paul and also to arcane,

I have no idea how dermatologist are able to help you all in removing the hyperpigmented lesions/moles.

I never really go beyond simple rashes in my dermatology lessions.

    Sorry for the poor reply.

    Seconded.

Each unit of blood that you donate can potentially help 7 different people in different ways i.e. red blood cells, plasma, platelet, coagulation factors etc.

The very idea that your blood type is related to your IQ, diet, sex life or anything except your blood is pure BS in my opinion.

Sure, the blood type diet may contain nutrients and food groups in balance for a healthy diet, but the idea behind it is dodgy to say the least.

I am a regular blood donor (used to be would be more accurate) but I have been rejected the last two times I attempted to donate blood cause my haemoglobin (sp?) level is not high enough. Apparently it was cause I visited a third world country, Cambodia in 2004, and thus have high malaria risk or something. Within a period of three years after my trip there, my haemogoblin needs to be higher than normal in order to donate blood, so the hospital can check that I have not contracted malaria or something ... ...

Actually I have no idea what I am talking about, just trying to put down whatever the doctors told me which didn't make a great deal of sense. Anyway, the thing is I managed to donate blood for quite a few times after I came back from Cambodia before they rejected me, what could be the reason that my haemoglobin level is suddenly not high enough?

The folks at the blood centre gave me some iron pills which I am reluctant to consume unless absolutely necessary. So what should I do/eat before I try to donate blood again? How long does the iron pills take to work?

Eerm, maybe you are really anaemic, that's why they refuse to accept your blood donation?

If so, i would actually get a few blood test first before taking iron tablets, as you want to find out as to the reason of your anaemia - there could be other causes such as low folate, low B12, etc.

Most people who are anemic do not actually have any symptoms at all, so it may not be surprising.

You can have uneven leg height, but even hip (pelvis), i don't think so.

I have just accidentally scalded myself and my hand hurts badly. Shouldn't have been a third-degree burn or something (I suspect it's a mere second-degree burn or less?) but according to my handy first-aid book, if I were to keep my injured hand under cool water for 10 minutes it will be better. I've tried, but it hurts even under water. Then I tried toothpastes, moisturising gels, everything, none of which seemed to actually work. Is there a way to keep the pain under control? What is the best way to heal my hand?

By chance, anybody who had scalded themselves before who are reading this, you can share some methods if you don't mind. Although I can take the pain (with a few wincing), I even have problems using a pen to write.

You indeed did the adequate first aid for the burns.

What you need to do now is:-
    1) Saline wash and gauze
    2) Pain relief, starting with paracetamol, non-steroidals such as ibuprofen, and then moving on to paracetamol and codeine, and other opioids.
    3) Frequent dressing changes +/- use of silver sulphadiazine.
    4) An assessment by a health professional may be needed, if it is not apparent if it is just a second degree or a third degree.
Some burns, especially in the hand, needs a plastics specialists review.

Attached is a general document on burns: http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic72.htm

I didn't really do all that you said, cause of all those medical jargon and all. I don't know what pain relief I took but anyways it's getting better. Thanks.

Probably a superficial burn if that's the case.

Good, now that your hand is fixed, i can wait patiently for your translation.

Hey wondering my friend (cousin) has a serious problems in his genital areas.
He has one testicle on the left thats much bigger than the one on the right, is there any way that he can correct this problem?
Also his sometimes is longer as it is dropped compared to his penis if you look straight from the front. It is no longer than about 2 inches, is that a major problem for this dude? Cos he seems pretty upset and suffering depression, sleep loss, over anxiety from this condition.
Especially after I found out finding him in the showers... He is usually too shy to shower in public or use the male cubicles to take a leak because of his size I and deformedness I suppose.
This was at a unisex toilet in case your wondering.

i'm one of those people who don't like to go to the doctor. one time i burned my wrist quite badly. it was actually bright red, and left a light brown patch there for months. in retrospect, i probably should have done something more about it than run it under cold water. in case this happens again, because i do my fair amount of cooking, what degree burn does that sound like? is going to a doctor really really necessary?

here's another example of my carelessness. when i was young, i spilled boiling water on my leg. and my parents put some sunburn lotion on it and wrapped it in an old rag. (omg, i sound like i'm from the country, hah ahhaha) after i think a few days, it...uh...started to bubble. and i think it was infected. and i probably started walking with a limp or something, because i got sent to a school nurse who told my parents to take me to a doctor. totally fine in like a week or two.

    Errm.

It is natural for the testis to not be symmetrical.

And i don't understand the remainder of your post.
