The real life couple have a new drama series coming up! The filming for the drama begin in June so the broadcast date should be sometime next year on Hunan (the same station for the popular Bu Bu Jing Xin, Gong 1 and 2 and My New Fair Princess).

Title: A Clear Midsummer Night
*I'm not sure that's the official English title, I just directly translated the Chinese title.
I rechecked and poster says "Summer" but the direct translation sounds better ：P

Synopsis:
The daughter of a real estate mogul Xia Wan Qing (Yang Mi), has seemingly no way of retreating after a friend's betrayal and her boyfriend backing out of their wedding. Fortunately, she's saved by business genius Qiao Jin Fan (Hawick Lau). Jin Fan is a "playboy" and the future successor for Qiao corporation. He extends an offering hand and together they embark on a path of revenge. Each for reasons of their own, begin a love with "uncertain motives." After enduring circumstances because of their families' competing interests and a number of conspiracies the two find true love.

I really think the male of the cover of the novel looks a bit like Korean star Jang Dong Gun... ;）

The drama is based on a novel by the same name. I translated the novel summary below:

After a marriage of three years, towards her husband's coldness she's never shown her weakness. But when her husband's mistress comes knocking on the door, she sheds a tear for the first time.

She says: If loving you was wrong, then I'll treat these three years as paying back for that wrong. From now on, you can never use this love to hurt me.

A month after the divorce passes.

The oldest son from Qiao Corporation, a wealthy second generation businessman and a man she met when she at her lowest, asks her to marry him.

He says: Marry me, not only will your mom and dad be at ease, it will strike a blow at the man that hurt you. Marry me, and I promise to never betray you, because the woman I love will never come back.

Faced with this enigma of a man, she still has her rationale: If it's not for love, what is your reason for approaching me?

The answer is simple and merciless: Simple, because you are the mayor's daughter.

Ah, so based on her status, marrying an above average man is so easy. Without love, how long could it possibly last? But if it's for love, isn't it a dangerous gamble as well?

This time, she steadily glances at the man in front of her and chooses a marriage without love.

I don't mind YM/Hawick as a rl-couple since it's not my business, but I don't feel any connection with them being promoted as a reel otp. Maybe it's because they're together irl so they're not keen on doing the usual otp fanservice, and they lack the "are they or aren't they" element in otp couples (e.g. Fengmi,ArJoe,etc). I think Nic/YM are cuter than Hawick/YM,lol.

Anyway,YM's recent tv projects haven't really caught my attention . Never read the novel before, it sounds cute but for some reason from the stills it already seems (which is already a bad thing) like the dramas going to be cliche and long winded.

The drama looks interesting but I honestly believe the plot and poster would look awesome without Hawick. I have nothing against Hawick or his relationship with Yang Mi but every since Yang Mi started doing more movies and announced her relationship with him, my interest in her just went completely out of the window. This role should of went to Hu Ge or Wallace or somebody who's not Hawick. Once the directors see these two have no chemistry on screen at all, we'll finally get to see her paired with other new male leads in more dramas in the future(hopefully).

I have to agree with you, Yang Mi's recent dramas/movies haven't been that catching.
