i think we would be very very sucessful, i mean greece were basically struggling to get all the venues finished opn time, they just made it and it was a pretty good olmpics.

As far as medals go China should do better then 2004 since the host athletes dont have to qualify in thier sports. So basically the host has athletes in every single event.

The biggest problem with Beijing is the air pollution. Apparently it has one of the worse air in the world. That's China's biggest obtacle.

Yeah I think most of the problems will be environmental and problems that journalist and other tourist will encounter with the Chinese police or the CCP. Judging is also going to biased towards the chinese, but I think that has to be tolerable because it happened for the some of the greeks also during this year's olympics. I also think that the crowd will react towards Taiwan and Japan.

These are just minor problems as I see it but other than that I don't think it will limit the success of 2008 Beijing Olympics from all the $$$.

Maybe towards Taiwan since China is trying to take over them but I don't think Japan.

Brian, are you saying that China will be react cruely to Japan because of watching those HK films that take place in 1930s like Fist of Legend?

I think it will be a success unless some political event like US boycotting the event to raise tension between China and US then but neverless I believe it will be a successful and probably ground breaking too.

No, because they were during the Asian Cup. I didn't watch all of the asian cup though, not even a game actually. Mainly due to the fact that watching europeans play is much better because of more agressive play. But that's just what I think. Well anyways you still have to remember that alot of Chinese that are living in China still can't forget about Nanjing (is that spelled correctly?) and still can't forgive the Japanese for it. That's a reason why I think the Chinese crowd will probably give Japan a bad response when they're called out. But who knows 4 years a short amount of time, but anything can change by than.

And no... I don't base my facts on movies either. Besides Fist of Legend wasn't that great of a movie anyways.

Just wondering since most of those movies have Chinese and Japanese hating each other.
