Come on...in the book XLN suppose to look younger than Yang Guo. Carmen looks good but she looks older than Louis Koo and that didn't fit the descriptions from the book.

Sure, is that what the book says?

I thought that because devastated by nostalgia for his beloved XLN and ravaged by so many stragedies happening to him, hence YG aged tremendously, while XLN's look remained juveniled miraculously after 16 years of separation.

But before that 16 year separation, especially during the happy time of Guo Er and Gou Long at the "Old Tomb", she should not look younger than him, right?

In 95' ROCH, it's true that Gou Long looked older than Guo Er when they first met at "Old Tomb". But that was intensional, wasn't it? Later, as Louis Koo portrayed YG in adult stage, I did not think that Carmen looked older than him. They looked very nice together, in fact.

In 83' ROCH, I do think Idy Chen appeared older than Andy Lau. But they were both very good actors and that made up for it.

I'm looking forward to 05' ROCH though, mainly because of HXM. I like him A LOT.
I'm not a fan of any asian actress so unless they picked someone real ugly, otherwise, whoever plays XLN doesn't bother me much.

When I watched the series, I saw Carman looks really cold, charm, and young.

She potrayed XLN the BEST! She does look Young as XLN in the book!

She appeared young-looking just like in the begining of the movie even after 16 years later!!

She has the CHARISMA that NO ONE has!!!!!!

oh common, JY's words cant be taken seriously. he said Idy was perfect as XLN, thn he said Carman made XLN believable and now he says LYF is XLN. XLN does look younger thn her age, but that does not mean she looks younger thn YG (bear in mind that YG is 4yrs younger thn her). when GJ, HR and the rest 1st saw her, they couldnt believe she was YG's teacher since she looked young, ard YG's age, thats why they mistook her for his lover. as far as i can recall frm the novel, YG only looked much older thn XLN after the 16yrs separation.

if you talk in terms of youth, LYF beats carman hands down since she's much younger in real life. but imo, carman really has that calm and icy demour that LYF does not have. but LYF seems to look more innocent (XLN was both cold yet innocent at the same time in the novel).

carman may not have looked young enough for XLN as 1st (though it ddnt bother me since her acting made up for it) but she looked perfect in the middle, especially towards and after the 16yrs. i dunno, her age and that tint of maturity was just so right for the separation, and thats one of the things im afraid LYF may not be able to pull off unless she covers it up with good acting.

i thought louis koo did a great job as YG as well, he was convincing for both the young and older YG and i didnt think carman look older thn him. i thought they looked just ard the same age, though the make up and stuff did well to made him look older thn her after the 16yrs. they just had that right amount of compatibality as lovers

Luu Diec Phi looks cuter than beautiful when compare to Carman mainly because of her real young age outside. Carman is actually has the real true beauty. She is the true Beauty.

She and Louis are soo match for each other in ROCH95, they both look very beautiful for each other. One main thing that ROCH95 is famous is mainly because of TLN-DQ of Carman-Louis. Their look is the most beautiful couple that I ever seen. They look so beautiful and match for each other. That the main reason why ROCH95 is famous.

Well, I got to say that Carmen has a better cold posteor than LYF.. tho I thought her acting was a lil stiff at times.. LYF, still looks like a lil girl especially at the pics i saw after the 16 years. I thought Carmen looked more mature after the 16 yrs part.I can't help but be biased since i grew up with Idy. I guess she did look older than Andy, but u know, it could have been makeup back then. I think make up now is much better, and lighting, graphics. I watched some old series now and see how outdated some of the clothing and makeup are

I didn't like her in the Yang Warriors series. She was too skinny in that series. Her neck was full of veins and plus it was really thin and high. All her other series, she looked good.
