    Default Condor Heroes Figures Update

    Hi All,

I'm new here. Been a big fan of Jin Yong's works and I have seen all of the various editions of the TV series, but I just recently learned about this forum. I just wanted say "Hi" to everyone and show you guys my Yang Guo and Wong Fei Hung figures that I custom made. Let me know what you guys think and if this is the right area to post such a thread.

He's not entirely accurate to any of the films, but just my take and vision on what Yang Guo looks like . . .

Wow, they look really good. I saw your Yip Koo Sing (Andy Lau) figure on your site too.

Are you planning on making any more Wu Xia action figures? (ie. Xiao Feng)

Heheh. You bet. I've pretty much completed Qiao Feng. Just need to finish his outer coat. I also have to complete the Four Greats, Chow Ba Tong, Guo Jing, Wong Yung, Little Dragon Girl, Tse Shun, Cheung Mo Kei and Dokku Cau Bai.

Cool! Who did you base Qiao Feng off of? Felix Wong? Leung Kar Yan? Hu Jun?

Can you post some pictures of it?

This is indeed excellent craftsmanship. Where is your site? I'd like to view the rest of your work.

Omni, I based Qiao Feng off of Felix's character. I will post up some pictures when he's done completely with the new coat. I sculpted the Dog Beating Cane for him too but I think I'll pass it on to Hong 7 Gong instead.

Ken and Yon, thanks for your kind words. My website is at www.dawgestyle.com. I've been customizing 12 inch figures for about three years now but only recently have I gone full-fledged with the Wuxia characters. Their weapons are so damn hard to do (not to mention the outfits).

Can we learn how to make it too? I think it will be a cool gift to my BF if I give him one...

BTW, can I advertise your site in my site too? I want to share with members there.. they are wuxia maniac as well.

Yon, sure. I wrote about how I made him on the Yang Guo page on my site. His sword was kinda hard to do but the outfit and body can be found pretty much anywhere that sells 12" figures. Email me if you need help. Of course you can link to my site. I'd be honored.

Crazy8, yes, I sew most of the clothing. Yang Guo was done almost three years ago so I wasn't as good at making the figures as I am now. I've gotten much better with sewing, painting, etc. So I might update him one of these days. Some parts can't be found and bought so you'll have to end up making it. With all the new Condor Heroes figures I'm making, 95% of all their stuff is custom made. Like I sculpted Huang Yao Shi's jade flute and Hong 7 Gong's Dog Beating Cane from clay. Do Long Dao was bought from the comic series and Y Tien Sword was made from the Hero figures. It just depends on what is available.

Eeyore, duguxiaojing, thank you for your kind words.

Yang Guo, dude are you sure? All the series I saw had his left arm chopped off?!

In the adaptations, his left arm is chopped off. In the book, his right arm is chopped off.

How long does it usually take for you to make one figure?

Re: Yeung Gor's arm. The novel did indeed say that Yeung Gor lost his right arm, but all movie and TV adaptations amputated his left arm instead because all the Yeung Gor actors were right-handed. None of them could pull off graceful-looking martial arts moves with just their left arm, so in the interest of stunt choreography, the adapations rewrote Yeung Gor as losing his left arm.
