finished da series, here sum of my thoughts:

most unacceptable casting ---- Huang Hai Bing as Qin Shu Bao, dis guy is one of da prettiest mainland male actors who can actually act. but he doesn't haf da look of a general.

best performance ---- Tse Kwan Ho, his portrayal of dat bastard emperor really made me wanna punch him, great work! My nie yuan comes closely second.

most adorable couple ---- Cheng Yao Gin n his wife, these 2 r made 4 each other. perfect match from head 2 toe. everytime they pash (or try 2) i just crack up

cutest line ---- when QIn Shu Bao wakes up from his coma (or wateva it was) n goes off 2 Li Rong Rong, he stands there 4 so long n managed 2 come up wif 3 words only "Rong Rong, I..." he then tries several more times n da same fing happened so cute!

cutest scene ---- Luo Cheng teaching Bing Bing martial arts in da forest, many ppl doesn't like dis but i fink it shows a side of Luo Cheng many ppl neglects. dat look he gives 2 Bing Bing when she asks him 2 pull her up ... is she da 1st female he eva met (apart from his mum, off course)??

most debatable line ---- "I did everyfing 4 da sack of Bing Bing", i'm not sure if Luo Cheng's dad die from those arrows or bcos he got so pissed after hearing dis line dat he choked n die.

crappiest death ---- Li Yuan Ba, god! wat kind of death is dat??!!!! actually, it might not be as bad as San Xiong Xin's death. at least it has sum scientific base.

most ecomonic shot ---- da 1 of ppl pulling da dragon boat along, how many times did they use dat shot in how many different situations???

cutest actor ---- nie yuan comes 1st , in sum angles his Luo Cheng look is beta then his qiye 1. da nxt 1 must be Li Yuan Ba...when he was little. dat little kid looks so adorable, especially wif dat hairdo

most tragic character ---- Li Rong Rong, there's no doubt abt dis, family gone, her right as a woman gone (as in having kids), her viginity ...

most annoying character ---- Li Rong Rong, despite her tragic life, i still can't help but hate her. it's probably da actress, can't she NOT mover her mouth when she speaks???

agree, i guess it's because the actress didn't act well, if Li Rong Rong suppose to be gentle (wen rou), but in this film the action, talk, everything seem not natural, really annoying.

I thought the Li Rong Rong actress was pretty 'wen rou' and because of that, she's one of those people who just blended into the background and didn't really stand out for me.

Lightning does tend to strike tall things and he was the tallest "thing" in the area. Plus his metal weapon probably conducted electricity like Ben Franklin's kite experiment indicated. However, the fact that he was just zapped to practically nothing was pretty unbelievable.

The cheapest deaths for me were San Xiong Xin's and Yang Lin's.

agree, Yang Lin's show down wif Qin Shu Bao was no show down @ all. whether Qin Shu Bao really killed him is stilll debatable, him might haf die from those bomb

i fink Rong Rong's character is not bad, it's actually really touching. it's just dat actress!! she's good in sum aspect, but her attempts to make her character more wen rou fails miserably. seriously, there's sumfing wrong wif da way she tightens the muscle around her lips and tilts her head.

I think the bombs definitely contributed to his death. I didn't really want Qin Shu Bao to kill Yang Lin. I don't know about anyone else, but I liked Wang Hui Chun's Yang Lin. I mean, he was certainly not the epitome of evil compared to a lot of other characters. I know he killed Shu Bao's father and all, but he kinda had to...it's not like he didn't try to get Shu Bao's dad to surrender and join his side and he would have been disloyal had he "returned the tiger to the mountains".

is it just me, or does the Li Mi's voice kinda go an octave higher by da end of the series?

I'f been wondering, does Sui Tang spand over 10 years or sumfing? cos @ the beginning of the series (excluding the bit abt Qin Shu Bao's dad), Li Yuan Ba is a little kid. by the end of the series he's 16. on the other hand, all da heros in Wa Gang doesn't age at all! really confusing

Yeah, excluding the very beginning, there's definitely a span of time between when Li Yuan Ba was a kid to when he grew up and developed a unibrow. The Wa Gang heroes didn't appear to age much 'cause they were pretty much grown anyway. For instance, Qin Shu Bao may have been in his late teens or early 20's, so 10 years later or so, he'd still only be around 30.

just wandering, coz i didn't get to finish the series (nor did i get to see the beginning):
who did Li Rong Rong end up with?

He was killed with a bunch of arrows while protecting a useless master.

    Yes.

The series really didn't focus much on Bing Bing and the baby after Luo Cheng died (which happened towards the very end anyway).

I kinda feel "cheated" when I saw the characters' reaction to Luo Cheng's death. I mean, that guy is suppose to be the 2nd male lead, doesn't he deserve something more than a faint (from his wife) and a tear (from Qin Shu Bao ONLY)!

Yeah, I agree. The Wa Gang heroes just kinda fell apart at the end and the conclusion was somewhat rushed.

It feels like the story kinda shifted to Li Shi Ming towards the end. The Wa Gang heros became kind of like the supporting characters.

Yeah, but that's how it should have been. He was proving himself to be a promising and prominent figure even at the end of the Sui dynasty. The series portrayed him as almost one of heroes himself except he didn't live at Wa Gang and his strength wasn't in fighting, but more in leadership.

There are books about the sui and tang dynasty, but not in english. I know because my mom has read a number of them. I think that there is an English translations for Romance of the 3 kingdoms since that is a Chinese classic if I remember correctly, but am not 100% sure. How is this series??
Respect other people's opinions and views. If we learn how to do that than all of these fights and arguments will not occur.
