Having said that, I believe Ruby has good acting skills. I'm still looking forward to watch QSHF as it has been a long while without seeing any new release with Wallace in it. I hope he is not being "tortured" too much in the show. It might break my heart.

After the article (see link posted by Luanee QSHF thread) that said he will suffer unrequited love from Ruby, I'm not looking forward to it anymore as it requires too much of a suspension of belief.

It's Liu Tao who should be the great beauty queen lead and Wallace as the enemy king male lead! That would have been the perfect casting.

OK, so what's his next project after Inspire The Life? His career over the past 9 months practically revolved around that doctor series!

He'll eventually die because of someone who doesn't love him! I guess Wallace took up this role because he wanted to play a "bad" guy which he had never tried before. I read the book but stopped reading it halfway when I found out Wallace would play the miserable king

It was like that for me in Strange Hero between Tong Li Ya and LSS. But with Wallace as the object of desire, it was still OK. But here with Ruby as the object of desire?!! Errr...

I do like Ruby as an actress. But it has to be the right role!

By himself in pictures, I used to like Yan Kuan's looks a lot. But somehow when he acts onscreen, he doesn't have that X-factor presence for me. Maybe that's why he never had good roles, lead or supporting.

I tried to skim through parts of QSHF book online, but I couldn't last past the first half as it descended into melodramatic crap. Wallace dying bcos Ruby doesn't love him? Errrrr...

Haha, at least Ruby followed the book closely this time. In the book, the king (played by Wallace) was the most handsome man ever lived at that time but Ruby met Kevin Yan (yes, Yan Kuan's English name is Kevin!) first and she fell in love with him. Yan rescued her when she tried to escape from her collapsed country. Her love toward Yan had remained the same since then even after she met Wallace. Ironically Wallace met Ruby first and fell in love with her when he saw her dancing in a garden.

I am not surprised that Wallace's fans said they prefer Inspire The Life over QSHF. It's heart broken to see your man getting hurt so much (and played a bad guy as well) for a woman who didn't love him.

Based on an interview, Wallace said he enjoyed shooting for QSHF. The character has a split personality. He only devoted 100% to someone he loved but was cruel to anyone else.

But they never and I mean never end up together. Nor do they go into deep can't eat, can't sleep, can't live without each other love. *sigh* Makes me wonder if he's a romantic person in real life.

Yes, now looking back most of his dramas are quite sad. But at least it's a happy ending in Ai Qing Zhan Xian (爱情占线). But I admitted that it was still quite a sad love story throughout the series.

I won't say never end up together. I actually liked the happy ending between LGX/Wallace & YSN/LSS in Strange Hero - it's like the start of a new beginning, a new hope. Except throughout most of Strange Hero, YSN/LSS had to go through the kind of love triangle I don't really like - where the winning lover is so much more inferior in personality, charisma & charm compared to the losing lover. It reminded me of YH & He Miao (winning lover) & YM (losing lover) in Prince's Study. Doesn't help that YM's look in Prince's Study was one of her most gorgeous. CtW also had that kind of lop-sided love triangle, but I love Janine Chang (not in CtW where her character was badly written, but in Black & White and Wayward Kenting) so I shan't say much about it

However, it looks like in QSHF, it's even more lop-sided. Know what I mean? And the object of desire...Ruby's pretty, but more in the girl-next-door earthy way. Not in that goddess fantastical way - I'd would say Liu Tao, Gao Yuan Yuan, LYF have that, but not Ruby. This "dancing in the garden & ensnaring a powerful king" scene abound in Greek legends - but the maiden is always this heavenly beauty/goddess.

In contrast, her Empress Dou character in MRXJ won the men's hearts with her guts, intelligence and courage, not with beauty. Notice it took Empress Dou some time before she gained the emperor's favour. Other women caught his eye first, but she eventually gained favour bcos of her wit. Ruby doing that kind of character is believable.

But that dancing in the garden thing in QSHF...sheesh!

Well, let's see how the actual series pan out. The trailer looks exciting and we have Gao Xi Xi helming the battle scenes. Plus this role has Wallace looking his handsomest (and clean-shaven ).

Wallace's next move: A comedy movie to be directed by Lam Chi chung (林子聪). Other main actor is Eric Cheung (张达明). The movie name is 超时空救兵.

Based on Lam Chi Chung's blog, he'll direct a movie in August. He didn't say which movie. It could probably be this comedy movie. Lam Chi Chung and Wallace met while filming for CP3.

Yes, Lam Chi Chung did mention that he will direct this comedy movie in August in his blog. I don't know what's the English name for this movie but it's something like "Savers in Supper Space-time".

im a fan of Wallace Huo ...um well i was a silent reader for quite a time but reading ur comments make me wanna join so bad so yeah, here i am XD. Im looking forward to QSHF but i dont think he willl have lots of scene ther since he will die so early TT_TT. Ruby is the main lead actress but is it just me or i found Hong Xiao Ling ( the bad girl) has better acting? and shes pretty too btw. Through the trailer, i think Wallace and her were the ones who did really bring out the character and i agree with xiaolong, Ruby doesnt realy suit the FuYa role... shes...i dunno, i just feel weird to see her in this role erm.... XD
p/s: btw xiaolong, i saw u many times in Yi Zhi Mei forum too, u were quite obsessed' bout Xiao Mei haha ^^

Okay well yes, I did like the ending to GXYZM. It left it open to our imagination as to how romantic they got. I think the most lovey dovey one he ever did was CP3 with all the kissing and holding hands and hugging. Other than that, dolphin bay, emerald on the roof, love in the forlorn city (we know she dies at the end), Tian Xia Di Yi, I never got further than the 5 episode on sounds of color so I don't know how it ends. Lets see, a mobile love story had two endings, one of which he doesn't get the girl in the end, Rouge Snow, there was basically no romantic interaction between Wallace and FBB. Didn't the girl die in Xin Yi Jian Mei? Then last but not least QSHF, still doesn't get the girl. *sigh* There are the few that he does end up with the main girl, I just wish there was more of a romantic story in most of his dramas.

I like Ruby as an actress, I've liked her since HZGG series. I just think she's not as beautiful as she used to be. Like you said Liu Tao would of killed it and made it so believable. Now if they had Liu Tao play the beautiful Fu Ya and Ruby play the ordinary girl after her change, I think that would of worked better.

Last but not least, yes yes yes, I do agree that Wallace look HOT HOT HOT in the series. *Drools* LOL
