Default Political/military power of main JY heroes

We usually compare the martial arts prowess of Jin Yong's main heroes. Here's something different: a look at each hero's political/military power.

Kiu Fung: First, he was Chief of the Beggar's Union. When that gig came to an end, he became one of the most powerful men in the Khitan Liao Empire...commanding considerable military might.

Deun Yu: Prince of Dali and later, its King. Had the Dali Kingdom's military forces at his disposal.

Hui Juk: Prince-Consort of the Hsi-Hsia Kingdom. Probably had some command of Hsi Hsia military forces and after Lee Chou Sui's death, command over the 1 Bun Tong Special Force. Additionally, he was leader of the Siu Yiu Sect, including the women warriors of Ling Jau Palace and the 72 Cave/Island Dwellers.

Gwok Jing: Prince-Consort of Mongol Empire. One of Genghis Khan's most valued generals. As the defender of Seung Yeung Fortress, commanded Sung troops and Beggar's Union members.

Yeung Gor: Never really commanded an army, but had the respect of numerous wulin "outsiders" (including the Ghosts of SanSai). Can obtain the assistance of non-affiliated fighters that more conventional wulin authorities (i.e. Gwok Jing) cannot.

Cheung Mo Gei: Leader of the Ming Cult.

Ling Wu Chung: Not very familiar with SOD, but didn't he lead some kind of mass assault once?

Yeun Sing Chi: Not familiar with CRIMSON SABRE story at all. No comment.

Wai Siu Bo: One of the most powerful men in the Qing Empire under Emperor K'ang Hsi. Paradoxically, also a key leader in the anti-Qing Heaven and Earth Society.

Wu Fei: Not familiar with FLYING FOX stories. No comment.

Chan Ga Lok: Leader of Red Flower Society.

Sek Por Tin: Not familiar with whichever story he appeared in. No comment.

SPT and YCZ should not have military backup in their disposal, neither did Hu Fei (unless you count CJL and his Red Flower Society as Hu Fei's buddies).

I would say, no one can beat WXB. He was able to play dirty.

Yuan Chengzhi was the leader of his father's old troops, and he was also chosen as leader of a federation of martial arts schools and bandit clans. Yuan was a general under Li Zicheng's command, and formed the "Golden Snake Division" battling the Manchus.

Regardless, if Cheung Mo Gei hadn't come along, the Ming Cult would never have gotten its act together.

Some battles must have slipped my mind then, most of the time he did act alone, didn't he?

ZWJ might not be a politcal or military person but he does have the power. He is the only person who is able to make the whole Ming Cult listen to him. Yang Xiao is a great strategist, but fails to get the support of Ming cult members. So, in terms of political/military power, ZWJ certainly has more power than him.

Default ok, power is the word but person. hehe.

like an emperor has great political/military power, but not a military person as he may not have gone for any war/involved in any war. hehe.
