Hi, I'm not his fan. But I'm sure I've wacthed him in at least one series and although I don't very like him, I have to say that his acting is quite good. This pic. remind me of a series I've seen long ago, but I don't know the official name. Can anyone tell me?

The series is called "Hero" ( 英雄 ) aka. "Imperial Guards". Huang Hai Bing stars in it with Ning Jing.



I just read an article in which HHB was asked whether he was more popular than Nie Yuan (after the two of them filmed "Sui Tang Ying Xiong Zhuan" together) and his immediate response was, "Oh no, please don't say that. Our Nie Yuan would kill me!!!" Apparently, he and Nie Yuan are pretty close buddies. I like the fact that he's a very humble and humorous guy.

I'm currently looking for the soundtrack (If they have one) to Ping Zong Xia Ying. I think that's the title to that movie which has Fan Bing Bing and Hai Bing together in it. If anyone can give me information of where to find the soundtrack to this tv series, I would certaintly be grateful. I love the two theme songs in that tv series so much.

I'm so glad there are other PZXY fans here! This is my first HHB series and I must say his acting is quite impressive! I'm definitely buying STYXZ, though I don't quite like Tse Kwan Ho. I agree that HHB wore too much makeup in the series, but his character more than made up for it. He made ZDF, a relatively boring cliche romantic hero stand out. I'm up to the last 5 episodes and will finish tonight. Hopefully it's a good ending. I didn't quite like FBB from HZGG, but her voice is dubbed this time and she looked quite good in the series - not as annoying as Jinsuo. I think she's truly growing as an actress. I prefer her to Vicki Zhao anyways.

His height sure is impressive! I think HXM is from Shandong as well, and they're both tall. I just have a thing for tall men. HHB seems very well-proportioned.

Aphraeleiss, welcome to the world of Huang Hai Bing! I first watched him in PZXY too and, aside from the makeup job, really liked his Zhang Dan Feng. FBB also did a great job as Yun Lei and was not annoying at all. I watched part of HZGG and yes, her character was annoying in there, but that was just her character, plus it was also one of (if not her first) series. I think she's prettier than Zhao Wei and much cuter than Ruby Lin. Cool, you're going to get STYXZ? I thought Tse Kwan Ho was pretty impressive in there as Yang Guang.

Back to HHB. Yep, he's very tall, especially for a Chinese actor. In the second pic from "Tian Xia Tai Ping" that I posted above, he reminds me a bit of Zhou Ren Fa (Chow Yun Fat). Yes, Huang Xiao Ming is also from Shan Dong (as are quite a few other thespians), but he's a couple of inches shorter than HHB.

hey Aphraeleiss, LZ, thank you for praising FBB. i think that's what made me like her. even if shev did not start out as likeable in her first series, at least now, after a few years, you could see her improvement as an actress. there is development, its becoz she is taking so many diverse roles, and not getting stuck to only one kind of role, that is making her grow.

yup, HHB is very tall. Aphraeleiss, why don't you watch Hero? it has HHB and Ning Jing in it. and it was quite a good series, plus i like the ending song in it as well.

i haven't seen many HHB series but I must say he's a really good actor. Very relaxed and smooth with all his facial expressions and everything. He deserves more recognition than what he's currently got.

Hi anna! Thanks for dropping by. Which HHB series have you seen and which one do you like the most? He doesn't get a lot of recognition at SPCNET (which isn't saying much), but he is one of the more popular actors in mainland China.

I've only seen STXYZ (guess you know why ) and bits from that series with Fan Bing Bing, so don't have much to comment about. All I can say is that he's one of the very few mainland actors who comes across as a good actor with great look and pleasant personality. And, yep, he and Nie Yuan are great friends. NY once said (or was it HHB) that them two love getting drunk together

How'd you like STYXZ? HHB and NY really seemed like cousins. That's cool that they're close buddies off-screen as well. They've known each other for a long time, right? You don't seem to have a good impression of most mainland actors. May I ask why? Don't put Shen Xiao Hai in that category, though. He's a versatile and talented actor, totally suave and handsome, and a really nice guy by all accounts in real life too. Oh, and he and Nie Yuan are also friends.

I think HHb and NY has known each other for several years, more than 5. Hehe, I've heard (more like read) about Shen Xiao Hai. Haven't seen much of his series.

It's not like I have anything against mainland actors, I just don't like actors/celebrities in general. Admitting they have talent is one thing, but liking them is another. But, there are exceptions, like my NY and your HHB, SXH


Anyway, back to HHB... Which series would you say is his best work so far??

Oh, I thought you specifically disliked the majority of mainland actors since you said that HHB is one of the few mainland actors that you actually have a good impression of. I understand what you mean about celebrities in general. I'm neutral about most of them, some I dislike, some I like, and some I really, really like. As for HHB, I don't actually consider myself a fan of his. I mean, I do think he's a really good actor (and thus definitely deserving of his own thread) who also seems to be a nice guy in real life, so I place him in my "like" category. Now as for Shen Xiao Hai...

Okay, back to HHB. I've only watched 3+ of his series so far and my favorite is a tie between PZXY and STYXZ. I thought he looked the best in STYXZ. Character-wise, I really like his Zhang Dan Feng in PZXY. Are there any of his series in particular aside from STYXZ that you'd like to watch?

About the mainland-actor thingy, I just feel that HHB belongs to that talent-based-less-commercialised caterory, along with NY of course

Yeah, PZXY is the series in which Fan Bing Bing plays Yun Lei. I thought she and HHB had really good chemistry together. You should definitely finish watching it sometime.

I finished watching HHB in World Peace a couple of nights ago and overall it was okay. A little dissapointed with the serie since it was a bit draggy and there really wasn't anything that interested me. At first the cast really made me excited, but afterwards I didn't think too much of it. HHB did really well here and this character was a bit comedic which he doesn't play too often. Or at least I don't see too much so that was a nice change. Lol, but I think I prefer him in a more serious kind of role. Maybe it was the storyline of the serie, but his character didn't attract much of my attention at all. This probably would be one of my least favorite serie with him, sadly to say though. It was nice seeing him again after so long though Oh and a plus though was he looked very handsome and dashing as the emperor
