this series has quite a tremendous cast. i'm waiting to see it too. but i doubt it'll be coming aout soon.

I believe this is the series about 4 concubines during the Qing dynasty. It's produced by Chik Kei Yi, the man who brought us Cold Blood Warm Heart, Secret of the Heart, At the Threshold of An Era, etc. With a grand cast consisting of Maggie Cheung, Charmaine Sheh, Gigi Lai, Sheren Tang, Moses Chan, Bowie Lam, Jade Leung, Yu Yeung, Rebecca Chan, Irene Wong, Patricia Liu, Joyce Chen.

Maggie plays a poor maid who is abused by eunuches and concubines in the palace. Moses at the time is just a small guard, just entered the palace. He pities Maggie and promises to help her escape drudgery.

Gigi and Charmaine are Moses' neighbors back home, they come to the city the same time with Moses, hoping to become contenders to be concubines. They are also abused by concubines once they are selected as low-class concubines.

Sheren is a precious concubine who is pregnant with the emperor's child. Don't know whether she was involved in the abuse of the lower class concubines and servants.

Jade is a very nice concubine.

Bowie plays an imperial doctor.

Yu Yeung is the emperor and Rebecca Chan is the empress.

So I was told that's the start of the story. What eventually evolves to:

Moses helps bringing Maggie to the attention of the emperor and allows her to bewitch him. They use underhand trading, bribery, manipulations to get to the top. In the end, Moses becomes one of the top imperial guard in the palace. Maggie becomes a powerful first-class concubine too. But throughout all of this they developed feelings for each other and have a forbidden affair. Moses, though loves Maggie dearly, feels that it was a mistake to bring her to the top because of the things she eventually did. Maggie also has a eunuch (Wong Tak Bun) who falls in love with her (I know, strange).

Charmaine has asthma so Bowie often come to treat her and she falls for him. But he falls for Gigi. Both Charmaine and Gigi are friends with Maggie at first because they were all on the same boat, but after Moses and Maggie drift away, so do Charmaine and Gigi, who rose to higher level of being concubines. Lots of cat fights between the two eventually.

Sheren becomes threatened by the power of Maggie, Charmaine, and Gigi. She tries to plot against the other three. Throughout this Jade is among the victims.

o god, everyone dies. what's the title of this series? i think i saw a similar series in the sales presentation. originally showed bowie as the imperial guard, ada as the court lady. is that the story?

this is just another Blade Heart just waiting to happen....

and I can't stand Blade Heart......doubt I could stand this one ... to make matters worst, it has my favourite actress Maggie in it.........
