I am new here. This forum is so good, keep me updated with what is happening.

I didn't even realise that there are two versions of Yang Men Hu Jiang. After reading it in the forum, then I realise so many scenes that I have missed. Do you guys know whether Malaysia or Singapore have the full version. I am in Melbourne, Australia. DVD here is very expensive, especially Asian drama. I am thinking of asking my friend to get the ful version from Singapore/Malaysia, but a bit worry it might be the China version.

tukhi (or others), where do you buy the uncut versions of tv series? it seems like the china versions are usually cut, and that yesasia usually sells the china versions only

P1Y10, Welcome to Spcnet! ...actually, there are 3 versions of YMHJ: China, Taiwan and Singapore versions. None of these were full version however, they were just edited differently...if your friend buys the DVD in Singapore/Malaysia then it should be the Singapore version!

LMAO! The bathing scene was nothing that excited although it did caught me off guard and got me blushed a bit Like you, I loved the way both of them were looking and starring at eachother. Isn't it weird if back in those ancient history days, if guys find other guys attracted, even if they were not impersonator? LOL It's possible....

luvalecsu_4evea, yeah, Chae Rim was impersonating as a male and went into Alec's camp to compete and workout. The China version cut a lot of romantic scenese btw them but not comepletely tho.

I think it would be odd for guys to look at guys back then...However, I think Si Lang was already suspicious of Xiang Ba or ba Xiang or watever Chia Rim was impersonating for the sake to prove that Pans are just as good as Yangs. Si Lang probably knew that the Yu Yan was pretending to be a boy soldier...he could tell when she couldn't change in front of all the other soldiers, wen she held the cup of wine like a girl, and when his eldest brother said he saw a girl in the bathing area and later mistaken himself when he saw Ba Xiang walked out as a soldier.

Make sure you get the Taiwanese version. Better dubbed voice, at least for Chae Rim(Yu Yan) and lots of scenes btw Chae Rim and Alec Su. This version will make you understand the series much better.....but behold for a sad ending.

I didn't get to see the part where Si Lang was staring at yu yan sleeping on the table as a soldier =( but I bet I'd be glued to the tv too...I've only began watching after I accidently flipped by the chinese channed and saw the sexy bath scene and got hooked sinced then...Its been like ages since I watched a chinese series...the last several ones I don't even remember...only Co Long and Nhung Hoa ( w/ andy lau back in the days?)

Its interesting that you mention bout how guys get attracted to guys w/out knowing they were girls in other series...because this just made me realized that homosexuality existed in Asia way in ancient times though people kept it on the downlow...heck, i'd be attracted to a female if it was actually impersonated by a guy...(wait, I dont think guys make attractive females) never mine that...I meant, if i was in alec's shoes, I'd be attracted to the "girly soldier" if it was actually impersonated by Yu Yan cuz she's hot too!

Thank you for all the replies. So Taiwan version is the best. Ok.. I have to think of any friend who can buy me a Taiwan version. I sort of like the China ending, because it hangs in the air, didn't really tell you that Si Lang dies hehehe...
Why those two never have a happy ending. That's why I didn't watch Love In The Aegean Sea. Can't bear to see Alec die . The worse is he dies so stupidly. I think the director just make him die to make the effect of the movie greater.

Chrissy, its the Singapore version. This version was the most complete version of the three with the exception of the sad ending. Yes, it had all the missing scenes...

Oh I think that Si Lang knew (from the time he stared down at her while she was asleep) deep down that Xiao Yu was a HE but he tried to deny it to himself as he was afraid of the outcome if HE was really a SHE. The reason was Xiao Yu was the first person he'd ever gotten along and befriend with (he's always been a loner before he met Xiao Yu) if Xiao Yu was a SHE then he would have to ask her to leave the training camp

hey u guys..well, i recently finishd this series..[like last wk.] nd i really liked it! at first in tha beginning..i thought it ws soo boring nd draggy..but as tha story went on..it got soo much more interesting! i love this series..except for tha ending.. *boo hoo. i ws surprised that i ws more focusing on tha romance b.tween yan kun[tha guy that played tha 7th bro] nd zhang yi[chu chu]..they made an adorable couple..too bad they didn't get a chance to end up with each othr yan kun is sooo cute..lol. ne ways..all i gotta say is alec's ending sucked!! i thought it ws soo stupid! i ws like..'so..thats it?!?!??'. they could've showed what happend a lil aftr..but oh wells, not that we can do ne thing abt it..so overall, this series ws great..nd tha casts are well pickd..nd well, i'd recommend this series to neone out there
