I heard that they are going to remake this series AGAIN and that Hu Ge and Ariel Lin will be the leads. I like them and the story of LOCH, but I am sick of remakes!! Also, I don't think their version will be well received since a lot of people like the 80s version and the 2003 China version.

I'd like Hu Ge better than the 2003 Guo Jing but it's a little too soon for another remake don't you think?

Hi everyone. Guessed I've finally decided to join in the discussion on our very favourite series. But I'll be honest and reveal my other reason for joining. I have the opening and the ending theme of the LOTR 2003 version. But I'm really after the soundtrack, the musical pieces in the series itself. I've noticed some have asked for this before in this thread, but there doesn't seem to be a reply to them except for the opening and theme. I would really appreciate if someone can assist me in pointing me to where I can get the soundtrack or send them to me. Anything.... I've searching for this for months... With no success. Thanks!

I actually heard the same thing too. I'm happy to hear of this remake because this will be more like HSDS2003 in terms of production value. The ZJZ's version was a little too sophisticated for my taste.....too sophisticated makes it kinda' dull and boring to watch IMO.

i was thinking better choice in actors...

although i think Hu Ge and Ariel is pretty terrible casting... nowhere near the great cast of HSDS03

Hu Ge could probably pull it off..i dont know about Ariel though...she just doesnt look like the Huang Rong type. She's short and doesn't have a clever look on her.

neither of them have the look i would have expected for GJ and HR... i think Ariel would be a bad choice... not pretty enough... not intelligent looking

Hu Ge wouldn't be my first choice on GJ either... i think he's be just average for me

Ariel may not be beautiful enough for HR but so was ZX in LOCH02, though she won me over with her charm and acting. Ariel is rather good in her mischevious and cheeky role in TWFX and she's pretty cute. As for HG, he looks somehow too good-looking and smart for GJ.

when i say average, i don't mean acting... looks for GJ mean nothing to me

its the fact that the combined intelligent, mischievous look of Hu Ge and the type of acting required for GJ isn't the best choice... i think it would still work, but it wouldn't be ideal

i think i'd almost bypass LOCH if Ariel was HR... no suitability IMO
i thought Zhou Xun wasn't the prettiest HR, but she still looked quite nice... Ariel doesn't have the charm that ZX has

I'm rewatching LOCH03 again and this time LYP's retarded acting is more bearable after the maniac performance of HXM in the first half of ROCH06. So at least HXM did some good afterall.

I really like the instrumental pieces and there are many. Seems all are original for this series. WYS's melancholic flute piece is beautiful.

But seems there are plot discrepancies like the burial of Mei Chao Feng outside of the Cow Village when WYS agreed to bury her back on his island.

You'd only find LYP's GJ acceptable if you'd watched ROCH06's HXM the screaming ape.
Otherwise, you'd end up screaming at LYP's GJ for being such a dumb retard.
