Lana's last name is Lang not Lane. Lois Lane and Chloe Sullivan(sp?) are cousins (most probably from on the maternal side of the family). Lana has no relation to either of the two.

Kidd: Actually, Tom Welling is like around 27 already and he's playing a 18 year old. I guess Erica just can't keep her appearance to look young enough? Eh I don't know.

As to who would die in exchange...I have three candidates.

1. Jonathan Kent- That episode where Clark comments and says his father shouldn't be smoking with his condition. And just after Clark said that and left the room. J. Kent took out a cigar and went outside to smoke it. Could he die in exchange? So that Clark would listen to his biological father Jorel more now that his foster father is out of the picture? But he can't die...he's not suppose to die. So It can't be him.

2. Lana Lang- She was the reason Clark did not follow through with meeting up with Jorel before the next sun set. He had to take Lana to the hospital. So Lana could die in exchange and it was Clark that said that Lana is the only woman he has loved and it has always been her. So by Jorel's words...it could be Lana that dies.

3. Chloe Sullivan - could die because Clark wanted to save her from freezing to death in the season premiere. Jorel knew that Clark cared for Chloe and helped her go to the hospital to recuperate.

Or it could be Martha Kent.

Seems the writers been hinting this since the beginning of the fifth season here.

Lex Luthor is so on fire! Hahaha...He's going out of his way to prove that Clark is not human.

I like your reasons!! ^_^ There's only one thing, don't worry it ain't bad, it's just that you said that Johnathan Kent is not SUPPOSED to die, but technically he is, because if you've seen the original movies, Mr.Kent dies in the very beggining because of his heart of smoking, or some problem, I believe that the series is finally catching up with the movies because at the beginning of the 5th season, at the first particular scene where clark throws the crystal for the fortress of solitude, that is EXACTLY like the movie, and also Jor-El's followers came too. But then there is the possiblity that I am wrong though too...but hey, I still like your ideas, I want Lana to go...sorry no offense to Lana fans, it's cool that you like her, but me NO! Sorry, Clark belongs with Louis and NO ELSE!!! hehe

There is a site within this thread that tells you that in the comics Lana end up marrying Pete who later became a senator.

I've read that Lana and Pete end up with each other several times in this thread already. Kinda hard to miss.

Here's Lana's bio from the comics

Lana Lang
Friend of Superman. Lana grew up near Smallville and met Clark Kent in elementary school. They quickly became close friends, and Lana fell in love with Clark. Her thoughts of marriage ended in high school one night, however, when Clark revealed he had remarkable super powers and would be leaving Smallville. After Superman's debut, Lex Luthor had Lana kidnapped and interrogated in an attempt to learn Superman's secret identity, but Lana never cracked. Lana's connection with Superman has also caused her to be brainwashed by Manhunter androids, and injured during a fight between Superman and Matrix in Smallville. Lana always hoped there was a chance that Clark would marry her, but eventually gave up when Clark told her he loved Lois Lane. Lana persuaded Lois Lane that Clark loved her when Lois had doubts. Eventually, Lana sold her family's farm in Smallville and moved to Washington D.C where she has married another childhood friend of Clark Kent, Pete Ross. After Ross lost his senate position, the couple returned to Smallville. Lana was one of Lois' bridesmaids at Lois and Clark's wedding. Later, Lana was pregnant, unknown to Clark, and when she was involved in a car accident, the baby was born 2 months pre-mature. She called Clark to ask him if he could help save her baby. As Superman, he was taking the infant to another hospital when Doomsday, inhabited by Brainiac's mind, attacked him. He took the child, intending to grow a more controllable Doomsday from his tiny body. Superman and the child's father, Pete Ross, rescued the infant and Brainiac's technology had made him healthy. Lana and Pete named him Clark Peter Ross (Superman: The Doomsday Wars #1-3).
Lana took a back seat to the things going on around her when Lex Luthor chose her husband as vice president. Even knowing how twisted and evil Luthor was, her devotion to Clark Kent still holds true. She doesn't reveal the trials Luthor put her through to keep Clark's secret from Pete.

When Luthor fell, Pete ascended briefly to the presidency, and when he did, Lana decided to end their relationship for reasons that have not yet been revealed. She moved back toward Clark and tried to seduce him, ultimately failing. Currently, she remains in a limbo of a sort, trying to figure out what to do with her life.

i love to watch smallville and enjoy it. but tis next season is confusing. they all die in season two except for clark's mom and clark went back to the other world. then season three came out and everyone was alive again......omg. tis is so confusing. and everythings starts again wit lana and clark. it seem lyke they are not ment to be but keep meeting each other and feeling arkward. it seem lyke they will never get each other. it's getting really boring to watch.

ohh man, i'm so left behind about this series as i just started to watch it only for couple days!!!

it's being shown tho on tv but never really want to watch it as it's looks so 'plain' but it changed when i bought the first season 'cause i'm so boring then continued to bought up to 4th seasons and i'm still watching 3rd season tho.

First i like Lana Lang, but as the story goes, her character starts become too irritating me especially when it's about her relationship with Clark, sumtimes played hard to get or sumthing like push and pull. And sumtimes her expressions too!! kind of annoying too, feels like it's not sinceres instead look so fake. Thanks God there's Louis!!

Clark is okay. I like him, sumtimes he really looks like a child but don't like him if it's about romance!! typical guy trapped in the triangle relationship. I like Lex too, he's outstanding!! just can't believe that he will turned as an evil.

Seeing the trailer for the this week's episode and seeing how Smallville has join the bandwagon of sex just makes me think that Smallville has totally lost it's objective. The writers seem to be catering to some kind of audience that likes a lot of skin and sex on the screen. Even though Smallville is moved to Thursday nights, the nights I'm home to watch tv, I don't find it interesting to watch anymore.

But killing Lana off means that they will re-written Super-man history/story but not saying that it's has been re-written already since Clark Kent meet Lois Lane after college not durring his high school yrs[season 4].....I love smallville
