Anyone likes Lionel Luther? I do.
I really like this villian. He makes the series so much more interesting. But I also sometimes pity him. He obviously loves Lex (although the Lineage episode put some doubts to it, since Lex nearly got killed by that crazy woman) but got a weird idea of parenting. Some parents are like that. They are very hard on their kids and always critisize them. Their purpose is to drive their kids to do better but not realising that they are straining their relationships with their kids. I think that Lionel would rather be fatherly to Lex and create enmity with him. It's just that training Lex to be a worthy successor of the Luther Empire claim a higher priority.
Do u guys think he feels hurt or not that Lex hated him so much? Or does he feel proad that Lex try to overthrow him?
I think Lex have high respect of his father... just he was taught in a business world there is no family or friends... But when someone try to take over Luther family business, he would step in and help his father.
I dont' know before smallville, there was the superman movie and Lois and Clark and I hated Lex, but now I have a soft spot for him but there is this thing about him that makes me wonder when he is going to snap and turn completely evil.

Yeah, the writers of Smallville did a great job with Lex. The Lex in other superman movies/series is just a 2 dimensional baddie. I also have a soft spot for Lex. It's really heart-breaking to see him always try to do the right thing and be good and know he will fail eventually.
I really want to know what will make him hates Superman so much in the future. I can't see the current Lex hatings Superman so much (to point of wanting Superman dead) even if he becomes a megalomaniac. He values Clark's friendship too much. Clark is his only true friend.
I didn't know that. Do you know which shows or games he does voices in or which specific characters?Originally posted by James Ko

Haha, I don't think even the writers know yet. They don't write all the stories at once like chinese series. They did it as the series goes and sometime according to feedback by viewers. I heard that Pete started plsaying a more important role in the 2nd season of the series after viewers complained that Pete doesn't have anything to do in the 1st season.does lex die in the end?
If you asking about the comics, Lex's physical body died once but his brain got transfered to another younger body. So, u can say Lex is still alive. Actually, no characters really died permenantly in comics. Writers can always revived them when want to.
Haha, I don't think even the writers know yet.i just think it'd be a shame if lex died... coz he's such a strong character and so different to the cheesiness *yes i think clark is cheese* but it'd be really like dramatic when he fights with clark... not freddy vs jason... LEX vs CLARKIf you asking about the comics, Lex's physical body died once but his brain got transfered to another younger body. So, u can say Lex is still alive. and yeah pete playd an important role alright... he was in nearly all the chapters and clark told pete about his alieness... sounds like a desperate attempt to include pete thereI heard that Pete started plsaying a more important role
What's so cheesy about Clark? BTW, I'm not very sure what is the exact meaning of cheesy. Dictionary says 'cheesy' means of 'poor quality'. So, I know it's not a complimentary word.coz he's such a strong character and so different to the cheesiness *yes i think clark is cheese* but it'd be really like dramatic when he fights with clark
Why do u think Clark is cheesy? Please tell me. Clark is my second favourite character and he is pretty 3 dimensional to me.
I don't think the guy who plays Clark(I think his name is Tom something) is that good of an actor, especially compared to the supporting cast. There's just something really fake about him. Of course, that's just me.

cheese is when, in smallville, they do lots of romantic points, like with lana, and you're supposed to go "awww!" like that... can't really explain... its not negative/positive- come on ppl- help me here! like, usually happens at romantic moments... and they go "i really love you lana" "me too" that kinda thing, get it?
my friends crazy about clar/tom welling!
remember chloe's letter to clark whn he was unconscious? dat was a bit cheesy, but more romantic... i lovedthat bit- so sad **
Actually, I don't like the Clark/Lana relationship either. I just wish they could get together for good or breakup for good. Just get that draggy semi-relationship over with.![]()
Clark/Chloe is better though.
What I like about Clark is not his love relationships but his own journey and lesson in becoming a hero and coming to terms with himself. I also like his relationship with Lex.
The Lex/Clark friendship is unique. How many 21 year old adults become so good friends with a 15 year old teenager and not in a big brother/ kid brother relationship but as equal friends. Wonder what they see in each other that make them like each other so much.
15yr old and 21 year old? u must be joking
Clark saved Lex's life, so I'd say that's pretty solid foundation for a friendship right there.Originally posted by kidd

No, I'm not. At the beginning of the series, Lex is 21 while Clark is 15 (or 14, not that sure). In the second season, It's after 1 year already. So, Lex is 22 and Clark is 16.15yr old and 21 year old? u must be joking
But given their age gap, it will be a big brother/younger brother relationship not equal friends. Also, yeah, u can say Clark save Lex life, so Lex feel grateful. But there must be more than gratefulness to make someone like another person that much and be so close to them. Also, what about about Clark? Everyone in Smallville distrust Lex and don't really like him. So, why is Clark different? Why Clark trust him and believe in his goodness? Why Clark like Lex so much? Lex didn't save Clark. Also, Lex is not the only person Clark saved. Clark saves people all the time. What makes Lex special?Clark saved Lex's life, so I'd say that's pretty solid foundation for a friendship right there.
Wow, it's so hard to believe Clark is 15/16 in that show. He looks a lot older. Age is oftentimes overrated, since everyone has different interests and maturity levels at the same ages. I don't see how it's exceedingly strange that Lex and Clark are close. You could call it fate.Originally posted by kidd

Let me ask you this. Do YOU distrust Lex right now? I would say the answer is no, right? He's still currently portrayed as the straight, misunderstood guy who, although far from perfect, always tries to do the right thing despite his father's influence. We as the audience can see that(since oftentimes we are made to believe that Lex is guilty when later on it turns out that he was not), even if everyone in Smallville apparently do not, as they don't get to see what's really going on "in the background". The Hero must be different. If Clark had the same attitude towards Lex as most everyone else, we would see him as shallow as anyone else who don't know Lex as they should in order to make a true judgment about him beyond what they read in the newspapers or hear of through rumors. Clark's mutual respect for Lex makes him an understanding, broadminded guy whom we as the audience can respect as well. Also, another important bond Lex and Clark share is that they are both very unique, misunderstood individuals with many secrets. Clark has the special abilities that he must hide while Lex is seen by others as untrustworthy, spoiled, etc.Originally posted by kidd

actually i distrust lex right now. he is on his never ending quest to find the truth about everything around him. well blame it on his family but his curiousity will undue Clark/Lex friendship next season.

"Happy posting."
Yes, he is, but can you really blame him? If I were in his shoes, I'd be curious about the truth as well. Too bad we already know what will happen to Clark's and Lex's friendship...Originally posted by hkopinions
