In this world, George W Bush is the most talked about American president. I notice even those who dislike Dubya can't resist talking about him. He must be the best American president ever.

Not a good comparison simply because the two differ in context. Bush is talked about because he's the current president. A better way to compare would be to wait til George W. Bush is no longer president then let time pass and see if people would even mentioned him in regards to "Best Presidents". So there is a huge difference in your comparison.

You need to understand something: favorite and best are not necessarily the same.

I do know that. That's why my topic is not "favorite" characters. Think of this thread like an award contest, the one with most votes would be the "best" character. I chose to nominate my favorite because I value how much a character can capture the hearts of fans more than their complexity or realism, even though that is important too. Everyone has different definition of "best". I respect that and enjoy reading everyone's perspective, but take no offense if I challenge the reasons behind the choices. It's meant to spark discussions.. for entertainment purposes.

It's a long story. By the beginning of the poll, GJ surpassed YG by 50%. Then someone tampered with the poll result. It has not been proven, but if you were around at the time you would notice the weird, unrealistic increase on YG part. Then when superboy commented on that, suddenly there was a cover up increase for GJ. The mods decided to lock the poll because of this. So, no, GJ poll was actually 50% more than YG

Anyway, the best character talked about is XF IMHO.

Think like it's an academy award and we'll trying to figure out who deserves to be "Best Character". Everyone can come up with their reasons to nominate a character. Some can chose them because they are different and unique. Others can chose them because their story is more exciting and interesting. You can chose them for whatever reasons. That's the point of the thread is to see which character gets mentioned the most and that one would undoubtedbly be the "Best Character" of this thread. Of course it's also open to discussion so everyone can critique other's choices and reasons respectfully.. and see if they would change their minds and agree... just good for discussion.


So far I can see this forum has a huge XF fan base. HAHAHA Not a bad choice imo. But I still take YG.

Yang Guo is actually not talked about that much. Just a few people keep on bringing him up repeatedly in separate posts (usually talking about how 'great' he is), which other people then answer. From what I've seen, the mainstream talks a lot more about XF/GJ/etc. etc.

There just arent that many people posting on this forum. It's inevitable that you will see the same YG fans / GJ fans / XF fans around.

When there are no interesting threads to banter in, someone will put up a new thread "insert wuxia idols name" is the greatest 4eva!!! and this will lead to other fans supporting / bashing him.
