    Default Arm Wrestling

In an arm wrestling match, without using inner energy, just pure muscles and physical superiority, who in all of JY's canons would win?

    I'm betting on Goldie.

Goldie as in Golden Wheel Monk?

Not sure how proficient GJ was, but he was trained in Mongolian wrestling when he was a youngster.

Now, pure wrestling isn't about girth and brute force alone, techniques are very very important. Its not the WWE after all. Anyway, arm wrestling is a bit more simple, it relies a lot on pure strength and a little bit technique.

And yes, Goldie as in Golden Wheel Monk.

Without inner force, maybe those big fellas from the Mongolian camp might win.

Or people like Aobai and Xiao Feng.

It happens sometimes when I am visiting four different forums at the same time

BTW, now that CC reminded me, Aobai seems like a good candidate to win.

Golden Wheel Monk was described as a skinny monk, I believe. Shouldn't have much physical strength.

In my opinion, it's a tossup between Da Er Ba and Ao Bai. I'm personally leaning towards Ao Bai though; he was described physically as a monster, whereas Da Er Ba just seemed more of a really really strong guy.

I know he's basically like an ox, but is he THAT strong physically?

Really? I must have been mislead by some adaptations. Gotta reread ROCH one of these days...

I think it would be between XF and Ao Bai. Both are described as physically huge and very very strong and muscular. Da Er Ba is strong but his description doesn't sound too impressive. GWM is a skinny tall monk. He would be out in the first round.

Yeah, he was REALLY skinny; book described him as a 'bamboo tree', I believe. Jinlun Fawang's palm/fist blows were extremely heavy and powerful, but that was all due to the 'Dragon Elephant Prana Palms'.

Personally, I felt that Ao Bai was a Xiao Feng without martial arts skills. Very similar.

But I think Ao Bai would take it simply because he's used to fighting with brute muscle; Xiao Feng uses internal energy a lot, so his own muscles probably aren't as powerful.

God damn adaptations have to screw up my brain. They should then cast someone tall and skinny instead of ugly, mean, fat looking mugger types.

It would be rather hard to really find someone who has a deep dent in his head like Golden Wheel Monk did Unless you're using CGI.

You know how we always attach an image of someone with the characters like when you think of GJ, Felix Wong's face comes up naturally...that sort of happened to me. I mean, they didn't have to be exactly accurate in every detail (anyway the dent can be done with some make up) but at least find someone tall and skinny.

They way those 'Tiger' brothers from the Mongol camp in ROCH were described strikes me as being built even bigger and stronger then Aobai and XF.

I dunno, Ao Bai was reputed to be able to lift and throw armored men (and horses? can't remember) LONG distances based purely on physical strength. That's pretty damn impressive.

Plus, he was able to literally rip his opponents into several parts with his bare hands; an ability which shocked and stunned elite martial artists in XAJH when it was performed by FOUR people at once.
