Finally saw that yummy yummy promo clip (oh yes I rather download the heavy duty one, quality so different though slowww) and I must say I am very surprised that Raymond Lam speaks such good mandarin. Kevin cheng, for someone having acted in Taiwanese series not very good but the girl, very bad mandarin. Sometimes it is not the pronunciation but rather saying the wrong words or maybe in both Tavia and Charmaine's case, the pronunciation is all off!

I must mention though my unhappiness over this so called promo. It's more like how's the HK counterparts treating you and very little on the series itself. Not to mention so many people not interviewed. But the worse had to be Tavia, never ending interview though only for awhile but I guess she deserves it since well you know amongst the 4 HK actors, she is the most ignored.

I hear Raymond is from China (or at least has some direct connection there, which I can't remember exactly what. From the Fujien province?), which is why I wasn't surprised his mandarin is good. I thought Kevin's mandarin was rather good too, of course not as fluent and precise as Raymond's but for someone who's not a native speaker, it's considered not bad. No strong Cantonese accent and quite fluent, better than many other HK actors and actresses. If I'm not wrong when he acted in those Taiwanese serials, he actually spoke in Cantonese and had his voice dubbed over. As for the girls, both guys' mandarin were definitely better than theirs.

Hmmm... I guess it's normal for these entertainment news to focus on the mundane side of the filming. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the story itself has to be of a certain level of secrecy. And one thing that S'pore is of a disadvantage in this area is that we dun have a programme that is dedicated exclsively to entertainment news, like HK's K-100 (which talks more abt the filming process), Star Showbiz or Taiwan's E-News, where such news can be featured in sequences over a period of time. In fact, I'm sure many people didn't see that clip cos it was shown only as a time-filler i.e. very few know when excactly it's supposed to be telecast. So I think we can expect to see very little abt the actual filming because such news just dun go under any programme on Mediacorp channels.

Ray was born in China but he moved to HK when he was 2 year old. So considering all his life he lives in HK, just that his family speak Fujianese and Mandarin. That's why he is fluent in Mandarin, Fujianese and Cantonese

      《Yummi Yummi》

The short promotional segment was actually broadcast on Channel 8's King of Variety on fridays. I caught a bit of it in the first broadcast while channel surfing. Mediacorp repeats some of the segments in between their scheduled programs. So I was looking out for it. I don't watch King , but maybe they do have some time dedicated to promoting new shows? I dunno.

Yea, I'd really appreciate that too cos I'm currently using Netscape and I can't watch using my browser.

A big thank you in advance!
