Actually the fact that Singaporeans are being left out in the promo is not surprising cos after all, all these articles and news abt Yummy Yummy are taken from the HK media. Naturally the focus is on the 4 HK leads rather than the Singaporean cast, which I'm quite sure dun play a big role in the series, probably at the most supporting roles. If there's anyone to be blamed for this, it shld be the Singapore media. I haven't actually heard anything abt Yummy Yummy from the Singapore media since the initial announcement abt the co-production. If there are any, which unfortunately there aren't any which I've heard of, I'm very sure Singapore's focus will be on our own local people.

But that said, I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt cos I haven't been getting the U mag recently (which shld be the mag that is responsible for bringing us any news and updates abt the local cast in Yummy Yummy). Have there been any news on it? If there aren't, we can probably say that mediaworks doesn't seem to bother to have, or simply can't have, any correspondants to at least visit the production team in HK to check out on how our local artistes are doing. I mean, look at TVB mag - productions like Split Seconds actually have reporters following the crew in Thailand to write abt the filming process and some other behind-the-scenes info. Maybe Mediaworks, after the merger, just isn't willing to spend that money and effort. And it really doesn't help that some of the cast involved in Yummy Yummy are the ones who are not offered contracts with Mediacorp.

As for Ben Yeo, could be pure coincidence that he's featured more in the HK media... I dunno...

Basically it says that Charmaine and Raymond are filiming a scene in Tsim Sha Tsui in a Vietnamese restaurant. There were a number of fans visiting the set waiting for a photo opportunity.

After the filming ended, Charmaine was in a rush to go to another filming location. However, Raymond stayed for a while to meet his fans and had a photo session with them.

    It's pretty obvious isn't it?

4 leads, 2 male 2 female. But if you really want to know my guess is Charmaine Sheh is the female lead because she is more famous of the 4 and Raymond Lam is the male lead because let's face it, Kevin Cheng is not that famous at all.

Charmaine is in here as a wallpaper, Tavia is the one with the acting chops, Kevin is pretty boy whilst raymond will carry the entire series. In fact the plot is made in such a way Raymond seems to be carrying the entire series! He is paired with the singaporeans counterpart so that means he is the big brother taking care of the little ones. Like Kong Wah used to do for all the Miss Hks before they're famous.

But does it really matter who is the lead and who is not? I doubt anyone is going to die in this series.

ok, it might be obvious to you but i was just asking! wasn't sure if it was 4 leads or 2 leads and another supporting person!

    Anyway, love all 4 actors.

news, thanks to Em & www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com

    [The Sun 18/12/04]

[Em's note: If you have a nervous disposition or don't want to see the seedier side of your favourite stars, then don't read the first part of this article. Hahaha!]

Leading stars from TVB series "Yummy Yummy" Raymond Lam, Kevin Cheng and Charmaine Sheh were filming a scene where they had to climb a 70 ft rock face earlier on location at Tung Lung Island. Wearing the rock climbing equipment, Raymond showed off his 'lunch box' and everyone was shocked at its size. Having previously played 'castration games' with Raymond, Kevin was asked whether he had felt the urge to attack Raymond and Kevin laughed: "We daren't play any more, in case we can't have kids in the future!" Raymond also announced a truce, saying he would not attack Kevin: "I am afraid that we will lose the function if we keep playing it and can't even go to the toilet."

When the filming started, Raymond, who suffers from vertigo was a very frightened, but still wanted to do the scene himself: "Even if I am scared, I will do it because I can't care about so much." Kevin on the other hand seemed rather relaxed: "This is easy compared to when I was filming abroad and had to dive off the top and plummet down the cliff, now that was scary!" Charmaine did not have to do any climbing like the male stars.

Having previously been rumoured with Sheren Tang and Sharon Chan, Kevin was asked if he would be buying them Christmas presents. He says: "The most important woman in my heart is my mother and even she may have to go and choose her own present. I will then pay her back for it!"

Hmmm. the Hong Kong supporting cast don't exist either. I guess the tabloids just report what people want to read about ie the stars. It's actually very low on substance, mostly very repetitive and frivolous stuff.

    Default news

Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng were filming on location in Lei King Wan yesterday for new series "Yummy Yummy" in a scene where they were riding together on a bicycle in a rather romantic scene showing their characters developing feelings for one another.

Afterwards, Charmaine was asked whether she felt it was very romantic and she smiles: "I guess so! Actually I have tried this in real life about ten years ago when I went cycling with my boyfriend at the time, but we had a bike each then. Now I can only re-live the feeling through filming."

Charmaine says that modern people are too commercialised now whilst dating and like to go karaoke, watch movies and shopping. She prefers the great outdoors instead. When she was dating, what other romantic things did she get up to? She says: "I remember one guy, who would make a handmade card for me each time he asked me on a date and made my name out of a gold coloured paperclip. We arranged to go to the Peak for dinner once and he gave me a bag of jigsaw pieces. When we put it together it was a giant heart shape. After this, we started dating properly, but I had to go and study in America then and we did not continue after that. (Do you still keep in touch?) No, but I know he is married now and has a daughter."

Kevin says that he has never taken a girl on a bike before, saying: "The last time was during filming when I was carrying Nancy Sit! (Is it a little lighter load this time?) A little!"

i like them both and... nooooo... they dun look alike!!!

november, u must have been and seeing things arrrr...
    haha, kidding

hmmm... ok, i do think they both have the same kind of 'can lan' smile, but that's it. i think in terms of looks shaun has got it, but whether it's a disadvantage to him really depends more on the kind of role he gets and how prominant it is. but anyway, it's still in the production stage so we dunno yet how HK viewers are receptive to our hero. will keep my fingers crossed

Who is ZHeng jia ying? Ben?

    Do they even look alike?

I thought Kevin AND Shaun looked quite alike, but temperament wise, SHAUn and RAYMOND are very much alike.

But Ben and Shaun? I don't think so. I know why Ben gets loads of press ... he is always next to raymond and Kevin.

My dear, Ben's surname is Yeo, not Zheng or Cheng or Tay

Temperament wise? Why are Shaun and Raymond alike temperament wise?

Because they both look ultra serious and bored but we all know looks cn be deceiving.

Oh yes it took me one night, one whole night to recall Kevin is Cheng Ka Weng right? Aiyahhhh cantonese mahhh so malu!

True true look alike but if Shaun can look like him when he's 35 (as in as good) I can he is one lucky man.
