[Channel U] Zero ( 零楼 )

Thanks to a news article posted by eyeo, I was watching the news to see if anything is mentioned about this new and probably last serial by Channel U.

The outline of the serial is quite interesting. Guo Liang plays the custodian of Zero floor ( 零楼 ). When a person dies, his/her good deeds and bad deeds are tabulated. If it balances out, ie no. of good deeds = bad deeds, the soul/person is sent to Guo Liang. Guo Liang will then give the person another 49 days. Afterwhich he will tabulate the scores again. More good deeds will send the person to heaven. Bad deeds will send the person to hell.

Bryan Wong plays the person that is sent to Guo Liang.

The serial will air on Channel U on Dec 1, Tue to Fri, 8pm. That means it'll replace Heal and be Healed after it ends.

I saw the news too, the plot sounds pretty interesting. Ah, its really quite sad that the two media giants are merging their tv channels...

　　报业传讯优频道最后一部本地压轴戏剧大制作《零楼》,全台艺人将投入演出,让报业传讯在电视史上留下一个完美的句点。在昨天的开镜礼上,艺人们受访时都表示心情亦悲亦喜,五味杂陈。

　　《零楼》由喜剧《OK没问题》、《恭喜发财》原班创作人马——监制刘建财、故事人何声慧再度合作,题材构思与拍摄手法新颖大胆,不但跳脱出喜剧的框框,而且结合戏剧与综艺节目形式而成。

　　所谓“零楼”,说的是一个异度空间的概念,介于一般人们观念里的天堂和地狱之间,人们死后都会先在这里集合,再决定是上一楼(天堂)或下一楼(地狱)。

　　《零楼》讲述王禄江扮演的男主角身世坎坷,在问题家庭中长大,一时起恶念而干下纵火案,被判入狱,出来后变本加厉,终于遭到报应,昏迷中他的灵魂来到“零楼”,接受审判,并在期限内回到人间担任“辅导员”,由此带出一个个关于人们在面临抉择时内心反复挣扎的小故事。

　　人在做善恶决定之时,往往只在一念之间,但这个决定却可能影响人的一生,因此该剧的宣传标语是“一念天堂,一念地狱”。监制刘建财说,希望观众看了戏,如果要做坏事,至少内心要挣扎一下,那该剧就算是成功了。

巧引剧中对白交代告别之作

　　《零楼》的取名及拍摄,是否也赋有报业传讯优频道告别作的意义呢?

　　针对记者的问题,监制刘建财、故事人何声慧相视一笑,以剧中最后一集男女主角的对话巧妙回答。何声慧问 :“零楼在哪里?”刘建财答:“零楼不实际存在,它只是存在你心里。”

　　听起来既符合剧中所代表的空间概念,又婉转而巧妙地交代出现实的局面,弦外之音另含玄机, 你说高明吗?

　　《零楼》将从12月1日起,每逢星期二至五晚上8点,于优频道播出,直到31日为止,恰好便是报业传讯优频道(明年将归新传媒电视控股管理)的压轴告别作。

眩目排场有快乐有不舍

　　昨天开镜仪式前的记者会,以新颖方式掀开序幕,八名美女身穿五彩缤纷的服装呈现了一场简短的舞蹈,让记者们仿佛置身在歌剧院。接着是十多名角色较重的演员出场轮流介绍自己的角色,最眩目的是人人以非白即黑的隆重服装出场,王禄江、郭亮等人甚至自封为“男生偶像团体”。

　　这样的排场在优频道并不常见,艺人们表面上都堆出欢欣的笑容,对于自己能参与演出这部别具意义的作品而感到无比感激与兴奋,可是一提到“最后一部”或类似的字眼——由于新管理层对于两台员工未来的去留仍未公布 ,命运仍被未知而充满疑猜的气氛中所笼罩——大家的脸上除了堆砌出来的欢颜,另有一丝丝说不出来的感慨。

　　艺人们通过访问自我介绍角色,也说出心情感受:

王禄江:所有艺人

都是我心中的“零楼”

　　身为男主角,王禄江说他开心又感激,因为这反映大家对他的信心、肯定与赏识,何况他演过的戏从来没严肃过,都是嘻嘻哈哈的。“对于未来我没去想,现在我只把戏演好,但是所有艺人都是我心中的‘零楼 ’。”

　　女主角张玉华在剧中被王禄江欺骗感情,“你看这里,大家就像是一个家庭,虽然我每次不在,但在外国我都觉得自己是这个家庭派出去的大使,做事不要让家庭丢脸。拍完戏大家就要各奔东西,希望大家还会有机会在一起 ,现在我只想享受这段拍戏的时间。”

　　彭耀顺演王禄江的警察好友,“我几个星期前刚拍完可能是i频道最后一部剧的《六个星期》( Six Weeks),是关于生与死,我拍得很有感触,刚好这部剧也是同样的题材,我想这对大家来说都会是很有意义的一部剧。”

郭亮:有些脸孔

可能再也见不到

　　郭亮扮演“零楼”的主持人,编号001,“我很开心我的角色贯穿全剧……每个人都心情复杂,因为拍完戏后,有些脸孔可能就再也见不到了。”

权怡凤:我会很难过

　　权怡凤演清纯但思想简单的护士,是彭耀顺的冤家,“起初听到剧名,以为是悲剧,我说我不要演,因为老是联想到‘零骨塔’、‘灵牌’,都是很悲伤的东西……他们又说‘这是最后一部戏了’,我说不要这样讲,我会很难过。”

　　李之仪演权怡凤的妹妹,是个问题少女,“我很兴奋,很期待,可能是我比较乐观吧。”

沈倾掞:不舍因黄昏之作

　　沈倾掞演把王禄江打昏入院的坏人,“有快乐有不舍,快乐是因难得有一部有那么多人参与的戏,不舍是因这是黄昏之作。”

　　黄文鸿演郭亮的助手,编号1003,呼应他的联盟传讯电台UFM的频率,“他们知道我最爱卖力推销,所以给我这个编号。心情复杂,这里全部都是报业传讯艺人,只有我不是,但他们也把我当成是一分子,很爽!以前很喜欢开镜时切烧猪的仪式,因为切烧猪表示大制作,这是我第一次切烧猪,也可能是最后一次…… ”

　　李文海演郭亮的助手,编号5566,“这是我拍戏以来第一次穿得那么帅……哈哈,最重要好玩。”

　　梁家豪演郭亮的助手,编号5354,“很高兴大家能合作,之后有些事要听天由命。”

　　王爱玲演郭亮的助手,编号808,“虽然我刚加入优频道不久,但多少有感情,看到他们投入那么多的心思 ,感觉很浪费,但我们不会没有心情工作,我们要让这部剧拍得更精彩。”

谢韵仪:不知这部剧

是庆贺还是惜别

　　谢韵仪演“上天堂”,是天堂派到“零楼”接人上楼的使者:“兴奋是每个人都不计较角色演出,我的角色很小很小,今天拍完我就要到香港拍合资剧《Yummy yummy终极美食大竞赛》了。心情很复杂,因为不知道这部剧是要庆贺还是惜别。”

　　“全民偶像”亚军王佩女意也获邀演出“下地狱”,即地狱派到“零楼”接人下楼的使者,“我很紧张,毕竟这是我第一部剧。我也觉得很可惜,因为这是这个台的最后一部剧。”

　　黄淑贞演把父亲赶到走廊住的清洁女工,“我喜欢这个有层次的角色……我决定大家很有活力,很想尽力把戏演好。”

洪乙心:

呈现最美丽的一次表演

　　洪乙心演美丽但说话口吃的女孩,“我一直希望演个有缺陷的人,这回得偿所愿。将来不知会如何,但我都不去想,先把焦点放在工作,呈现最美丽的一次表演。”

　　刘铨盛演童话般的完美男人,对洪乙心有意,“我还没发挥自己的演技(就遇到电视整合),心情难免伤感, 接下来不知道会如何,但我要把握现在,因为有些事你做了人家会看见。”

Shucks... wondered what will happened to those who originally defected from Mediacorp to join Channel U. Personally, do wish that MediaCorp will leave Channel U alone and let it run its course.

the concept does sound like that taiwanese serial Pawnshop No. 8 (about how people can pawn their souls and other things personal and dear to them, like intelligence, in return for some intangible rewards, like someone's health). didn't watch pawnshop no. 8 though so can't really say how similar they are

anyway, dun think will be watching this one (no time lah...) unless someone tells me when shaun is gonna appear

, will definitely keep my eyes glued to the google-box when he appears ^^.

But if he is just somebody waiting at the bus-stop, crossing the street, cleaning the toilet, sweeping the floor, dancing in the pub... then u will miss lor! hahahah

Aiyah, it's Shaun, not Shawn! lol.
