Shiri got me into Korean films, so it'll always be special to me.

yea me too! shiri was probably the first korean movie i watched and really enjoyed! it's dark, brooding, and sad...the part of him listening to her voicemail at the end always saddens me.

anyway, more of my favorites:

so i am not korean but i have found that some of my favorite asian movies come from korea.....but they aren't really asian movies are they? no, they are one of many genres that any country is capable of producing. Also, there are sooooo very many good asian movies out there it is easy to categorize them by country right? think about this: you have five asian film buffs tasked with posting their top 5 movies..it could be top five asian movies, it could be top 5 korean movies, it could be top five chinese romance movies. right? ok so lets break that down and say this: what has been your top five korean crime thillers? what has been your top five favorite dramas? you see what is happening here, and the only reason it's possible is because there is such a wonderful plethora of media to choose from to where we can categorize it and cut down on 'mixed lists'. so i will start..my (opinionated) favorite korean crime/thrillers are.....

1. oldboy (no surprise)
2. chaser (speaks for itself)
3. friend (first korean movie i ever saw)
4. jsa (staple)
5. memories of murder (this movie sucks...but it's also koo)

I can't believe no one mentioned Oasis. I was blown away when I saw it at the 2003 Seattle International Film Festival. It won both Best Actor and Best Actress awards for that year. A brilliant movie than encompasses both dark humor and a sweet romance. 301/302 is deliciously dark humor to the extreme. And Chunhyang is an epic period romance.

1. Windstruck-sad but with happy ending
2.The Classic-amazingly beautiful..first korean movie i watched and love it!
3. A Moment to Remember-touching love story, u'll cry out loud..but good!
4.Daddy Long Legs-very different love story that makes u cry.
5. Wolfs Temptation-love story that makes u wonder..
6.My Little Bride-flutter ur heart, makes u feel young again..
7. Daisy-secret love revealed in the end..a sad end..
8. Love Me Not-gangster turned to a kindhearted lover..very,very nice..
9.Dirty Carnival-gangster movie with a heart..
10.He Was Cool-like teeny booper movie but it will entertained you a lot.
11.Love Phobia-puppy love turned into a true love story as time goes by.
12.Do Re Mi Fa So La Si Do-turned out too good up to the end..
13.My Mighty Princess-see for yourself..
14.She's on Duty-with a happy ending
15.Too Beautiful to Lie, Oh My God 2, Hello Schoolgirl, Innocent Steps, Addicted, Bittersweet Life, etc..

i just finished korean drama "Shining Inheritance"-its entertaining..
"City Hall" is much better korean drama, amazingly done..
"That Fool" a cinderella love story..

i watched many korean movies.. but HOLIDAY is the best.. im wondering why its is not popular? still, i cant find this movie anywhere.. but if you watch this, better than Brotherhood of wars or sassy girl... way much better.. goodluck!

The movie i like most is A bittersweet life (korean movie) . this movie hav a fantanstic story.. the way he act amazing.. That my request to all korean movies fan .. if u did'nt watch that movie, u never see the best korean movie.. i luv u lee byung hun. i luv his acting. Muuuuuaaa

The movie I liked the most is "THE WAY HOME" where the story has touched my heart. A clean and short story about love and affection between a young boy and his grand-mother.
