Yep, that's the version I'm watching. While colorful, it doesn't look as grand as ZJZ production. But it's entertaining enough for me.

Default Moon Goddess Chang-E (Zhang Jhi Zhong Version)

The Moon Goddess "Chang-E" (Hang Nga) in ZJZ's version of JTTW is played by Nie Yuan's wife. Here are some photos of her (and him) on the set.

Gosh, what is she wearing? Seriously, the costumes are just getting worse and worse these days. Sucha pity I actually I think she looks pretty but that costume has got to go.

Thanks for the pix! The costumes are getting uglier and uglier as the days fly by.... I did not know that Nie Yuan and Yang Guang were married. Thanks for the news. When did they get married??

Any idea on the release date?

Also, the white costume shown with the monk look kinda sexy. But, I guess not all have the same taste.

    Hi, I'm newbie here.
I have watch the 1986, 1996 (Hong Kong, Dicky Cheung) and the 2009 (Pilgrimage to the west) version. I think the Pilgrimage is good, so much better than the Hong Kong Version. Lot of scene that so much taken from the 1986 version.
Of course there's a change in the detail, but I think the change is great.
in Pilgrimage, the teacher (Monk Xuan Zhang) is so much better, not like the 1986 version that could only say 'Wu Kong, help me..." LOL. In this version the Monk could also give great lecture... That's what I expected most from the Monk.
About SWK, the actor tried to duplicate Li Xiao Ling Tong, and I think, even not that perfect, he's moch better than Dicky Cheung. DC is still like a human!
About the Pigsy (Zhu Ba Jie), they use really fat actor, so they did't really need rubber for make up, they only add pig nose ang ear, and voila! the best Pigsy i ever saw!

And the Sand Monk (Sha Wu Jing), he's much better than other version. He's still obedient, but not stupid like in Hongkong version (sigh...). His character gets more development through the series.

and I would add... there's no love story for SWK! SWK's relationship with White Bone Demon is a relationship between brother and sister, since SWK called the White Swan Demon (before she turned to WBD) Jie-Jie (big sister)

    sorry...
could you delete 3 of my post? I think there's a problem with my connection, so it's keep repeating my post. thanks before

Liu Tao will take the place of Guan Yin. I think she looks good as Guan Yin. Here are some pics I found some wuxia society.

Wow, I thought she already retired from the entertainment business. Or was this part shot before her retirement?

Hi there Sunny Son, are you sure that is really Liu Tao, or not some fan photoshopped her face in it??? The forehead in the pix looked weird, uneven color or something. It would be awesome if Liu Tao takes the role though, she will be a very pretty Guan Yin

Any friends would like to confirm that report, please?

LOL. I have no idea, it is posted on Sina, so i hope it's credible. But now you mentioned it, the forehead does look a little weird.

It's true. ZJZ is praising her image as the most Guan Yin-like of all. More pics here.

Oh, yay! Maybe she's just doing it for ZJZ as a favor to him? The forehead does look strange, but maybe that's just a bad hairpiece they will fix in the final production. I agree with ZJZ, Liu Tao just has this benevolent and still inner peace about her beauty.
    I like me.
