Dear god, what in the world is he wearing?! He looks like a chicken in the first video and a sheep in the second. Are the costume designers in China drawing inspiration from farm animals now?!

Despite the terrible, terrible outfits, it's a treat to hear Wallace sing. I really wish he would hold a concert in the US. That way we can drool over him in person. :P

LOL, they really overdid it with the feathers... or maybe that was the theme? I think he was going for being an angel... haha! But, I don't think it's as bad as some of the outfits I've seen Japanese and Korean singers have worn for concerts.

Wallace is a pretty good singer, but unfortunately he hasn't had many great songs... is there even one? =X I haven't been able to find a song of his that I really like. OREA has a catchy tune I guess. But, I think he sounds so much better when singing other people's songs. lol

And I love Wallace's look in 'Drug War' as well! I wonder if we're going to get to hear him speak Cantonese? I sure hope so! lol he still has a heavy accent when he speaks Mandarin, so I'd think it be better if he spoke Cantonese. ^^ There's no release date yet, but it'll definitely be up in theaters! Man I can't wait, Wallace just looks so good in all the stills! Cop, undercover, or a bad guy I don't mind, I just hope we get to see a lot of him in the film! hehe

As for the debate on whether Wallace looks better clean-shaven or with a bit of scruff, I agree that he's fortunate to look great both ways. However, I still prefer him clean-shaven. I don't know why, but I just absolutely swoon when he's in a suit, clean-cut, and toting a gun in old Shanghai era dramas. I am sure the real old Shanghai mobsters weren't as hot as Wallace Chung. If they were, there would be a whole of lot triad groupies hanging around the mobsters.

The chicken and sheep comments regarding his concert costumes have me choking with laughter because it's so true! I wonder why he chooses such outlandish outfits. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm not hip enough and being a boring dud by complaining about such flamboyant outfits.

Yes... I really need to study and finish my assignments. I have 4 mid-terms and 1 paper due this week. lol, but hey I am only checking up on Wallace threads during my designated breaks (uh huh I am being good and wrote out my whole schedule for the day)! And photoshopping with pretty Wallace pictures is so relaxing! Heh, and my mom joked that my 'Drug War' posters made it seem as if Wallace is the main (I wish!)

Wallace said the same thing at an interview, too! The hostess wanted to interview him in Cantonese, but he asked if he could speak in Mandarin. He said that he no longer felt comfortable speaking Cantonese in public since he hadn't done so in a long time. I think it's strange because I can't imagine him "losing" his Cantonese, since I assume he still speaks to his family and friends in HK in Cantonese. Plus, though I think his Mandarin has improved a lot over the years, I still think he speaks more fluently and more coherently in Cantonese. Heck, he even sings better in Cantonese...

That is interesting! lol, yes I agree his Mandarin has improved in recent years, but he is nowhere near as fluent as he should be in Cantonese! Actually, I would be worried if his Cantonese is at the same level as his Mandarin haha... but I guess I can understand how he must feel awkward speaking Cantonese in a setting where most of the people are native Mandarin speakers. I feel that way too, like when I'm in my Modern China history class and my professor says something in Mandarin and then asks me to translate it into Cantonese (just for fun really, since everyone only understands English anyway). It makes me slightly uncomfortable. I think most people just naturally want to fit in, but when we are asked to speak a different language or dialect, it really makes you stand out when you just want to be like everybody else. Perhaps, Wallace is like that? I've noticed he's actually kind of shy and easily embarrassed. But, I hope he'll feel comfortable enough to speak Cantonese in the movie since half of the actors will be speaking it. xD

I certainly wouldn't object to seeing some normal clothes! But, I think it's just a trend in Asia. Most of the costumes for Chinese/Korean/Japanese concerts are weird and sparkly. lol

It's interesting that Wallace is rather goofy and has this very endearing shyness about him in real life and yet he tends to play characters that are vastly different from his true personality: arrogant, alpha male characters like Murong Feng in TLTSILY and Gu Xi Zhao in Ni Shui Han, quiet and reserved characters like Ah Ci in Yi Chu Ji Fa and Li Nan Xing in Patriotic Knights, smooth-talking yet deadly (if you tick him off) charmers like Ah Chu in Yi Chu Ji Fa. I think this is a testament to how good his acting skills are.

While I don't like alpha males in real life, I think they are very cool and entertaining characters in dramas or stories. Look at Murong Feng, for example. I love that he is so tyrannical and have even complained that he is not tyrannical enough in the drama as opposed to what I have heard about his character in the novel. And I absolutely adore Wallace's evil character Gu Xi Zhao in Ni Shui Han. Gu is so intelligent, so dominating, and so evil and yet suave that women just can't help loving his calculating, malicious smile. I hope Wallace continues to play such characters in the future!

I know right? He is an amazing actor, and yet I constantly see comments from people who say that his acting is like a block of wood. People who say that have obviously not seen Wallace act, at all.
