Have you seen the 2006 ATV series Kang Xi Mi Shi (or "Kangxi and Nalan") where Wallace Chung starred as Nalan Xingde/Rongruo? Yuan Hong is reprising this character in "Chun Wan".

I love their look on the red carpet. They dressed up matching each other as well. I noticed Ruby also wearing white shoes.

I saw your post on the QSHF thread. I find it strange why this thread has becoming a discussion between Qiyou and Liancheng, instead of the drama itself. Besides, they have different looks and their characters are completely different in this drama (plus Lian Cheng only a guest appearance), maybe more should be discussed about Ruby, lol.

Yup, I've seen Kang Xi Mi Shi. I thought Wallace Chung was one of the most handsome men in Qing costume, tall and regal. Nonetheless, I still prefer him in period dramas with hair. The guy who played Kang Xi totally paled next to Wallace. No wonder Hu Jing's Qing Ge Er preferred Nalan Xingde even though Kang Xi had the hots for her. However, I really didn't think Wallace Chung and Hu Jing had much chemistry in Kang Xi Mi Shi. Their characters' romance really came out of nowhere. They seemed more like they respected each other's intellect rather than had a burning passionate desire for each other. Regardless, Wallace Chung was quite the eye candy in that series.

I didn't even notice Ruby's white shoes. I was too busy checking Wallace Chung out. I did notice Wallace's white shoes, though. Interesting choice of shoe color. I would have preferred black shoes. Now that I've gone back to watch that clip, I notice that Ruby's heels are really high! No wonder she looked like she was struggling a tiny bit when walking down the red carpet. At one point, it almost seemed as if Wallace was dragging her along a little.

I think the characterization of characters in a story is very instrumental in the success of that story. If the characters aren't well developed and fleshed out, then viewers won't be able to sympathize or identify with the characters. Therefore, it's not surprising that members are discussing the characters of Qiyou vs Liancheng, in addition to the plot itself. Plus, they are the main contenders for the main character Fu Ya's heart. Therefore, of course, comparisons between the two will be made by viewers. Not many people are discussing about Ruby or her Fu Ya mainly because the majority of viewers are female and so it's natural for us to focus on the handsome men.

Anyway, please don't misunderstand my comment in QSHF thread. I don't like the characters, Qiyou and Liancheng, but I like the actors themselves. I admit that they are very handsome men, each with his own appeal.

That's very true! I guess that's why nowadays dramas with more males leads tend to be more successful, hehe.

    Thanks for the news, tobeme!

Oh my gosh! I found some clips of Wallace Chung's old TVB series, Journey of Love, in 1994, in which he played a mentally challenged young man. I think he was only 20 years old back then! I was blown away by his acting, especially as a new actor at that time! And he looked quite adorable with his "bowl haircut." Cast included Marco Ngai, Sammi Cheng, and Louisa So. Even my dad, who doesn't like Wallace Chung because my mom loves him, was enthralled by Wallace's performance. There are 15 clips total of Wallace's scenes.

Here is the first clip of Journey of Love:

Speaking of Wallace's role in Kang Xi Mi Shi as Nalan Xingde, here is a clip of the filming of that drama, in which Wallace has to rush in front of Hu Jing and take an arrow for her.

MV with Wallace Chung moments. I think he looks so goofy at 3:57 minutes and especially handsome at 4:04 minutes.

Wallace Chung at a promotional event for his CD. Jimmy Lin apparently sent him some gift...looks like some mushroom-like thing in a dish... Anyway, the interviewer questioned Wallace on the gift, and Wallace responded that the gift was Jimmy's way of wishing him good luck on finding a girlfriend. Wallace thanks Jimmy and says he hopes to find a girlfriend in the coming two years. So cute.

Speaking of Wallace and Jimmy, both of them were the only groomsmen from the ent. industry for Toby and Aaron's wedding. Seeing Wallace back in Hk scene is quite refreshing. Wallace needs to get more love from spcnet and other english forums. News about him is so hard to come by. Here is a pix of him at the wedding.

Oh, hi, yinny! I didn't know you like Wallace Chung, too! Thanks for pictures above. I think Wallace looks the most handsome. . Who are Aaron and Toby? I don't recognize them. I agree completely that Wallace needs more fans in the English forums! It's so sad to see his thread wither away in the dust. I don't understand why he doesn't have more English speaking fans. I wonder if he'll get more fans who speak English if he becomes more active in Hong Kong again. However, I don't think it's very likely that he'll come back to HK to film and sing. I would like to see Wallace on the silver screen though.

Hey, everyone! I found clips of the wedding for Toby and Aaron as mentioned by yinny above, where Jimmy Lin and Wallace Chung were groomsmen! Also, from the clips, I found out that Annie Man Chung Han was a bridesmaid! I haven't heard about her in a LONG time!

In Chinese tradition, the bridesmaids usually block the doorway when the groom and his groomsmen arrive. In order for the men to gain entry, the groom has to do certain activities or pay money to the bridesmaids as "bribe" to gain access to his bride. The purpose of the groomsmen is to help out the groom in performing these activities, especially if the groom is unable to do them. It's all for fun and games on the wedding day. In the clip below, Wallace Chung said that the groom was unable to do certain yoga moves, so he had to do the moves in the groom's place. Haha! Wonder what the yoga moves were.

In this clip below, at 1:25 minute, Jimmy Lin explained that the bridesmaids made the groomsmen and the groom drink a bitter melon drink with tabasco sauce and Wallace Chung had to perform some yoga moves.

Check out Wallace Chung at 1:57 minute. I think he looks so handsome in formal wear. I could be biased in his favor, but I think he looks the most handsome of all the men, so tall and tanned and sexy with his somewhat scruffy facial hair.

You're right that Wallace Chung does look handsome in formal wear! Any news that he will be the groom himself?

Doesn't Wallace Chung look just so yummy in formal wear?! I love a man who cleans up well. I usually like clean-cut men, but somehow his slightly scruffy facial hair makes him look soooo sexy! He totally overshadows the groom...

I have no clue when Wallace Chung will be a groom himself. I don't know how to read Chinese so I am unable to keep up with his news. If he isn't dating right now, I do hope he finds his lovely lady soon and finds happily ever after with her.

Haha, you will soon start to like scruffy look if Wallace Chung keeps this style for a while. I used to like clean cut man as well until I saw Wallace Huo in Strange Hero! I think they look manly with a bit of facial hair.

There is not much news of him dating anyone at the moment...

I agree! The bit of facial hair really makes Wallace Chung look so masculine! Not that I think he doesn't look masculine when he is clean-shaven, but that facial hair is so yummy! I can just imagine how it would feel like if he kisses me... It'll probably be deliciously ticklish. (I think I'm going to give Wallace Chung's character in my story a bit of facial hair. Hehe!)

Yea, I think Wallace Chung keeps a very low profile, so news on his private life is hard to come by. It doesn't matter to me. I don't need to poke my nose in his private business. I just wish him good luck in finding his lady love soon.

I saw some pics of Wallace Huo in Strange Hero. I agree the facial hair makes him look hot, but I don't like his hair! It's too unkempt! It makes him look like a beggar. So while I don't mind a bit of scruffy facial hair (but not a full beard!), I still want the men in ancient dramas to have a tidy hairstyle.

Wow, I didn't realize Toby Leung is that big in TVB. Lots of stars showed up for her wedding. Here is a more complete clip of the coverage of Toby and Aaron's wedding, with lots of cameo appearances by stars in Hong Kong.

I think the reason so many celebrities attended Toby's wedding is 1) her father is a TVB executive and 2) her husband is a millionaire. So she got powerful connections.

TVB executive Tommy Leung's daughter Toby Leung and millionaire Aaron Wong were not even together for a year yet and already decided to get married. Earlier they already went through their marriage registration and yesterday they held a 53 table wedding banquet at InterContinental Hong Kong Hotel. TVB Chairwman Mona Fong, new boss Chan Kwok Keung, Norman Leung, Stephen Chan and other executives attended the banquet. Toby's wedding was surely a star-studded banquet as many artists attended including: Alan Tam, Nick Cheung, Louis Koo, Anita Yuen, Christine Ng, Michael Miu, Jamie Chik, Felix Wong, Nat Chan, Roger Kwok, Cindy Au, Michael Tse, Fala Chen, Raymond Lam, Charmaine Sheh, Tavia Yeung, Kate Tsui, Edwin Siu, Ron Ng, Kevin Cheng, Niki Chow, Amigo Chiu, Natalie Tong, Sharon Chan, Joyce Tang, Derek Kwok, Timmy Hung and many more. It was much more star-studded than the TVB Anniversary!

Toby, who owns a wedding planning company herself, carefully planned her own wedding using winter and snow as the theme. When asked if her wedding cost nearly a million? She laughed: "Basically the arrangements were all from my own company and my husband's tuxedo was sponsored."

The bridesmaids and groomsmen was enormous. The bridesmaids included Charmaine Sheh, Janet Chow, Angela Tong, Natalie Tong, Florence Kwok, Margaret Chung and more. The only groomsmen from showbiz were Jimmy Lam and Wallace Chung. To escort the bride, the groom and his brothers accepted to take on three obstacles, which included eating and drinking sweet, sour, bitter and spicy foods. The groom had to chug down white vinegar, pickled tofu, bitter melon and hot chili. Aaron gulped it all down in one go. When Aaron declared his love, Toby was so touched she teared up, but Florence teased him saying he was stuttering when he mentioned "cannot pursue any other girl". When asked how much the red envelope was? Angela laughed: "It is more amazing than the TVB Anniversary prizes! Over 100,000, but there is also over 100,000 remaining that he hasn't paid yet." She did not reveal the actual number.

Toby was very grateful that Charmaine Sheh made a special trip back to HK from Mainland to attend her wedding. When asked if she's going to be concentrating entirely on making a Dragon baby? She said: "Let nature take its course. I am very busy with my wedding planning company. It will only be June of next year before I have time to go on my honeymoon and think about children."

    Thanks, tweety.

Yea, I had no clue who Toby Leung was until I googled her wedding, hoping to see more shots or clips of Wallace Chung as the best man. Anyway, I was really more interested in the star-studded cast, including the wedding party of bridesmaids and groomsmen, who attended her wedding than in the bride and groom. Toby Leung is attractive, but not stunningly gorgeous. It's interesting to see Wallace Chung back in the Hong Kong/TVB scene and to hear him speaking Cantonese! I wonder if he brought a date to the wedding.
