It's about the "legendary" life of Bodhidharma. First patriarch of Chinese Chan (Zen). Legendary founder of Shaolin martial arts.

I saw this a few years ago, starring Erh Tung Sheng (Derek Yee) as Damo. Not too bad, but I thought the wirework was too mundane in a movie like this: the choreography looked just like any other early 90s wuxia movie. For a "philosophical" movie, it's not nearly as meditative as a masterpiece like CTHD. Still, worth watching.

Aiyah. I prefer Damo over Kobe's granddaddy anyday

Yeah it was a pretty good philosophical film. Have you seen Tsui Hark's "Green Snake"? That was the most weird and exotic film i ever encountered.

OOk that's really weird. But Green Snake is weird in a fantasy kind of way.
