i really wished it was his head. YG is annoying me no end..so much so i refused to watch ROCH after one time. I'd only completed one version of it, and that was andy lau's version. and it was more because i was just a little kid conviniently sitting on my mommys lap when she was watching the tv series.
i only watch a couple of episodes when they have XLN showing~
I paid more attention to legend of condor heroes, and heavenly sword dragon sabre (i read the revised 2nd version for both books)
That wasn't for lack of trying on GF's part though - the swing that cleaved YG's arm off was aimed at his head.
Though I do wonder how events would have proceeded if she had succeeded. I can't imagine GF getting off as lightly in that case as she eventually did in the original scenario.
Well, I didn't watch Voltron, but I did watch the original Japanese Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV anime dubbed into Cantonese, which was later edited to become part of the American Voltron series - I remember those great big drawn-out chops of his with that ridiculously large sword made from helicopter rotors (see the end of this). A bit like YG with his heavy iron sword, come to think of it...
Getting seriously OT!
Yes, but while we're at it...
When I first watched ROCH back in 1983/1984, I was also watching the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE cartoon.
When Yeung Gor (Andy Lau) first pulled the Heavy Iron Sword out of its case strapped to his back, I thought he was going to raise the Heavy Iron Sword into the air and cry out, "BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!"
And of course, in the 1984 Chow Yun Fat SMILING PROUD WANDERER adaptation, Pik Che Sword Technique was basically, "Form Blazing Sword!"
