Story plot

This film takes place during the reign of Emperor Jia Jing of the Ming Dynasty. The evil court official Yan Song relies on the emperor favoritism towards him, becoming overbearing and domineering. An honest official Zhang Ying Long impeaches Yan Song w/ a "Ten Cimes Five Deceits" against him. But instead he was flogged 30 times, got banished to a far off frontier Guizhou. On his way to exile there was a smale relay station on a remote mountain, Yan Song sent assassins to kill Zhang Ying Long and the empress sent swordsmen Dou Zhi & Dou Yong to protect Zhang Ying Long. It was difficult to distinguish who were genuine or fake. Finally, the one who looks like an assassin turned out to be the protector, and the real assassin actually is.....

"Kill Two Birds with One Stone" Plot Synopsis

During the reign of Emperor Jia Jing of the Ming Dynasty, the evil court official Yan Song relies on the emperor favoritism towards him, becoming overbearing and domineering. An honest official Zhang Ying Long impeaches Yan Song w/ a "Ten Cimes Five Deceits" against him. But instead he gets flogged 30 times, and banished to a far off frontier Guizhou.

Zhang Ying Long's remonstration won the hearts of the common people, on the day of his banishment thousands of people turned out to see him off. At the sight of this, Yan Sung knows that if he does not kill off Zhang Ying Long, he will be unable to deter other court officials. Thereupon, he arranges for assassins to kill Zhang Ying Long during the journey.

Guizhou, b/w the high mountain ridge lies a small relay station. Because this place is far off and also not deemed an important area by the government, therefore the relay station has become run-downed. The relay station is managed by two young people, one is named Shi Yi Pao, the other Bu De Liao, and also Zeng Wu Liao. Shi Yi Pao seems like a person who feels that he never gets enough sleep, and has a look of bewilderment on him everyday. Bu De Liao and Ceng Wu Liao both are diligent, but they are kind of stupid looking. These three people have already spent six useless years in this boring place.

But, on this day, everything changed.

First comes the arrival of two young people, a guy named Yu Shu, the girl Xin Xin. Both are a perfect match. Shi Yi Pao suddenly becomes energetic at the sight of the attractive Xin Xin, trying everything to flatter her, trying to provide her w/ the best service.

Then comes the officers escorting Zhang Ying Long, also a robber who has been deprived of meat for a while named Lao Li w/ a cart full of treasure, a mysterious person maned Xiao Kuan Hung. Legend has it that he is the fastest swordsman San Dian Hong, it takes him no more than three moves/strikes to kill a person, he is a scary person deliverying corpses.....

This boring, little station suddenly becomes lively, facing so many strange people, Shi Yi Pao feels a bit helpless, his only wish is that they don't turn his relay station into a chaotic scene. Good or bad this is his station, he must safeguard it.

But, Shi Yi Pao's wish was not realized. First, Shi Yi Pao's admiration Xin Xin makes the first move. It turns out that Xin Xin is Zhang Ying Long's daughter. This time, she's come all the way here for the sole purpose of rescuing her father Zhang Ying Long. But Zhang Ying Long refused, and scolds Xin Xin, tells her that if he runs that would be disloyal and unrighteous, and he would have to live in infamy as an escaped convict. And then, comes that Xiao Kuan Hung, people suspect that he is the masked man who tried to kill Zhang Ying Long. After a court session, the strange thing is Xiao Kuan Hung did not defend himself. Everyone surrounded him, Xiao Kuan Hung is a very skilled martial artist and fights his way out.

Xiao Kuan Hung did not go far, instead he sits in front of the relay station w/ his sword. Looks like Xiao Kuan Hung won't give up easily.

Xiao Kuan Hung really did not give up. Each day one or two officers die. Everyone understands that Xiao Kuan Hung wanted them to suffer, watching them die slowly one after another.

In order to escape from this fate, everyone put up a resistance. But, gradually they discover that the murderer is not Xiao Kuan Hung, but another person. After several guesses and oberservations, they finally discover the one who wants to kill Zhang Ying Long is the one w/ the chest of full of jewelry, the timid Lao Li.

But, it is too late. The situation is completely in Lao Li's hand. In this moment of crisis, Xiao Kuan Hung appears. It turns out that Xiao Kuan Hung was sent by the the empress to protect Zhang Ying Long. The empress heard that Yan Sung had sent an assassin, so she appointed Xiao Kuan Hung to protect Zhang Ying Long.

The highly skilled Xiao Kuan Hung vigorously duel with Lao Li, and in the end defeats Lao Li. Everyone sigh a breath of relief. But, Shi Yi Pao shakes his head and says there is another killer. Everyone looked astonished. Shi Yi Pao says that one day he accidentally overheard an officer Gui Jian Chou said the way Yan Sung normally operates is he usually sends two assassins, one in front, the other in the rear; one is out in the open, the other remains hidden.....this is called "double insurance". Looks like this usually clueless Shi Yi Pao is not clueless after all. Shi Yi Pao tells everyone that this assassin is still among us.

Then Shi Yi Pao smiles, looks at Yu Shu, said: "Mr. Liu, you are still not going to admit it?". Xiao Kuan Hung thought it was strange and said: Mr. Liu's kungfu is terrible, before he could finish, he drops to the floor, and then the others did the same. They could only see Liu Yu Shu laughing: My kungfu is terrible but didn't I still managed to make all of you fall? It turns out that Yu Shu is Yan Sung's man. He once defeated a lot of opponents w/ his viciousness. This time he is still undefeated.

At the moment that Yu Shu feels self-satisfied, Yu Shu hears a sound coming from the sword of the legendary "Yin Xue Jian" [Blood Drinking Sword], San Dian Hong finally makes his appearance.

Yu Shu was shocked, his hurriedly holds his sword in front of his chest, surveys the room, but there is no one there.

Yu Shu shouts loudly: Come out! What sort of a man are you playing these kinds of tricks? (His voice starting to tremble) You.....show yourself!

A shadow appears from the kitchen into the room, slowly a person appears.

Everyone stares at this dark shadow holding the Blood Drinking Sword.

He is the relay station's quiet cook, Ah-Liang.

Turns out Ah-Liang is the real San Dian Hong.

Ah-Liang easily eliminates Yu Shu, and also brings an end to Yan Song's sinister plan. At this moment, the emperor's royal decree arrives to free Zhang Ying Long. Everyone celebrates. Then they bid Shi Yi Pao, Bu De Liao, and also Zeng Wu Liao farewell.

Tranquilly is restored. The little relay station is back to its original state. But the person managing the relay station is no longer at peace. During these few days, Shi Yi Pao has fallen in love w/ Xin Xin. But where is Xin Xin. Perhaps she will never come back to this boring place again.

It is at this moment, Shi Yi Pao hears galloping sounds. Shi Yi Pao goes to greet the person.

Shi Yi Pao was surprised to discover, the messenger is Xin Xin.....
