Real becomes reel: Joanne Peh’s role in new TV show dates an ang moh

By spcnet.tv on December 31st, 2009 | Singaporean Entertainment

Art imitating life-or the other way round-pretty much sums up Joanne Peh’s newest role in the forthcoming Ch 8 telemovie.

Slated to air in Jan 2010, the local starlet plays a bodyguard whose love interest is an American.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of months, you would know by now that the actress is dating fellow actor Bobby Tonelli, who is based here and hails from Las Vegas.

The two were co-stars in the blockbuster drama Little Nyonya back in 2008, but their respective characters barely crossed paths in the plot. Incidentally, Bobby played the love interest of Jeanette Aw’s Yueniang, whom she later married towards the end of the hit serial.

Both parties initially dodged rumours of them dating, and it was only after being photographed together with a group of friends (see pic, Bobby is on the extreme right)…

However, an experienced reporter thinks that this rumoured relationship may be Ayumi Hamasaki’s intention of using Jin Akanishi as a sensationalizing “tool”. This is because, in the past, while dating Tomaya Nagase,…

Sezairi Sezali can be quite the cynic. Since speaking to the 22-year-old from the start of his Singapore Idol path, the man has always kept his fingers crossed and “expected the worst” to happen. Now that he’s won the title last night at the Grand Finale at the Indoor Stadium against competitor Sylvia Ratonel, perhaps it’s time he’s gonna turn a little more optimistic in his outlook?

The answer from the newest Singapore Idol is a resounding yes. “The Idol journey for me has been in stages. At the start, you feel that people hate you, and I start to doubt myself. Then I get [mentally] stronger and think, ‘Yes, I can do this.’ And then you’re at this stage where I think that it doesn’t matter if I win or lose. I’m [living] in the now. I’d like to do this for myself. So it’s like…
