Top actresses to star in Ronnie Yu’s new film

Not one, not two, but five of the biggest Asian female stars will come together in one epic movie coming to a screen near you soon.
The dream ensemble of Gong Li, Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Ziyi, Zhou Xun and Tang Wei will take on roles in director Ronny Yu’s new film about heroines of the Yang clan, whose husbands were killed after being betrayed, forcing them to take to the battlefield.
This will be the Hong Kong director’s first Chinese film after 2006′s Fearless and a rare homecoming since venturing into Hollywood in 1997 and helming movies like Bride of Chucky and Freddy vs. Jason.
This version of the Yang women, a historical tale retold many times in novels and TV serials, will offer a new perspective on the key characters, focusing more on their lives than the usual themes of loyalty.
