Here’s how to show ‘support’ for a fellow superstar.

Arrive late at the opening of his latest movie.

Instead of plugging his new movie, bring on your own lyricist and band and expound on how wonderful they are.

Mumble a half-baked compliment when asked if you enjoyed his movie, which you only caught half of.

Yes, that’s how Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou would do it.

The star was supposed to attend the opening of Lee Hom’s, Love in Disguise, but arrived at the last minute right before the movie started.

When asked to go on stage, Jay brought his trusty lyricist Fang Wen Shan and his new group The Drifters with him. Despite this being Lee Hom’s movie, Jay kept plugging Wen Shan and The Drifters.

Is this a tit for tat for how Lee Hom behaved at an earlier press conference?

Lee Hom’s company had organized a press conference to protest certain shady practices in the Taiwan music industry.

While Jay had attended the conference despite being sick, Lee Hom did not even appear, hence sowing the seeds of discord.

Since this is Lee Hom’s first attempt at directing his first feature film, critics have compared Love in Disguise with Jay Chou’s sleeper hit, Secret.

When asked, Jay said that they should not compare since the movies belong to different genres. He added that he has been urging Lee Hom to do a movie three years ago.

“Now that the movie is finally out, of course I must show my support.

Jay had to leave halfway through the screening.

When asked for comment for the movie, Jay only said “I think he (Lee Hom) is great,” before going off in a hurry.
