Former Super Junior (SJ) member Han was on a Taiwanese talk-show when he revealed his past experiences in SJ.

Han Geng just released his new mandarin album Geng Xin as a solo artist for the first time and he was in Taiwan to promote the album when he attended a talk-show for an interview.

On the show, the 26-year-old shockingly revealed that he was close to being suicidal during the time when he was in SJ.

“I feel troubled everyday so I frequently lock myself up in my room, doing nothing except watch movie and surf the net for days.”

“When I saw news of a Korean celebrity committing suicide, I realize the events leading up to the celebrity’s suicide was eerily similar to mine, so I was pretty worried that I might end up taking the same path.”

Back in 2005, Han Geng officially joined SJ in the 13-member popular boy-band. Due to legal restrictions, he was only allowed to appear on three specific television stations and in 2007, he was even forced to put on a mask.

“We were informed that I wasn’t allowed to go on stage at the last minute; but since our group’s performance pattern was fixed, I had to conceal myself.”

To make things worse, Han Geng tend to keep things to himself, which resulted in a lot of pent-up emotions.

Having started training in Korea since he was 19, the host asked if he felt mistreated. To that, Han Geng was slightly reserved in his answers.

“The treatment was different and I felt uncomfortable. The company might not have noticed but I’m particular with small details.”

Now that he ison his own, Han Geng admitted that he is still worried about letting his family’s expectations go to waste. The emotional singer even teared up when he saw his father’s letter to him, encouraging him to fight on.

Han Geng was also upfront with his love-life.

He revealed that he had a four-year relationship which started in 2002, but due to work commitments, the relationship did not work out.

Having been single for close to four years, Han Geng hopes to find a girlfriend outside of showbiz, though he would like to concentrate on his career now.

“With my new album out, an upcoming concert and movie projects to be filmed, I would want to stabilize my career before jumping into a relationship.”
