Love 972 deejay Violet Chen Fen Ying gave birth to her daughter safely at Gleneagles Hospital yesterday (August 25)!
xinmsn did a phone interview with Violet shortly afterwards and the 40-year-old sounded energetic despite the arduous process.
Violet revealed that she first felt the painful sensation at midnight on the 25th but had dismissed it as a regular stomach pain. Violet\\\’s son even asked to see his sister.
\\\”I\\\’m very sad,\\\” said her son to her amusement when she told him it was just a regular stomachache.
However, the stomach pain persisted till 3 A.M. before she decided to go to the hospital. She started experience labour pains and went into labour at around noon.
\\\”I had more trouble giving birth this time compared to my first child. I just kept shouting throughout and my hubby was very worried too.\\\”
Apparently, Violet\\\’s baby\\\’s position had made it difficult for Violet to \\\’push\\\’ her out and it took three nurses for the process to go smoothly.
When asked about her feelings on becoming a mother for a second time, Violet said, \\\”I\\\’m very happy! The baby didn\\\’t cry at the beginning and gave me a good scare. Good thing it was a false alarm.\\\”
Violet has yet to decide on a Chinese name for her daughter but said that her daughter\\\’s English name will be Radiance.
So is she hoping for her daughter to always look radiant and happy?
\\\”It\\\’s because since I got pregnant with her, I\\\’ve been looking very radiant from all the bird\\\’s nest I\\\’ve been drinking!\\\” replied Violet, not forgetting to plug the bird\\\’s nest endorsement deal she has with Huiji tonics.
Radiance\\\’s addition to the family has lighted up the family\\\’s life and even the extended family is exhilarated.
\\\”My in-laws have three sons and three grandsons; Radiance is the first female descendant so everyone is really happy.\\\”
Violet is now recuperating in the Tanglin Suite in Gleneagles; Chinese actress Vicki Zhao was said to have stayed in the same executive suite too, which costs over S$4000 per night, when giving birth to her daughter.
\\\”I\\\’m not sure about the suite; the hospital automatically upgraded me to the suite.\\\”
\\\”But if Vicki Zhao really stayed here then it\\\’s quite an honour!\\\”
Violet is scheduled to return to work in November.
