Sharon Stone says China earthquakes are karma payback

Hollywood actress Sharon Stone’s recent comments on the devastating earthquakes that happened in Sichuan area in China could be a result of bad karma pissed off many Chinese people. Stone said to the media on Thursday at the Cannes Film festival in reference to China’s recent dealings with Tibet: “And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened and I thought, ‘Is that karma, when you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?’”

Is Stone for real?

Stone’s comments ignited outrage among many in the Chinese media. She’s apologized since, but not before getting dropped from Christian Dior ads in Shanghai.

The recent snowstorms that hard hit Mainland China in areas such as Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, and other provinces caused major roadblocks as China is not equipped or prepared for such harsh weather. The snow has caused power outages, building collapses, crop destroyals, and casualties. Many were also stranded at railway stations for over 40 hours in the freezing weather as no railroads were running and chants of “wo men yao hui jia!” (translated: “we want to go home!”) were heard from these stranded passengers who want to go back home and reunite with family in time for the Spring Festival next week.
