Wang Lee Hom’s self-directed movie debut Love In Disguse failed to perform up to expectations despite the initial hype during its release and scored only one nomination for Best Original Film Song in the upcoming Golden Horse Awards.

In response to that, Lee Hom commented on famed Hong Kong director Stephen Chow’s failure to bag a Golden Horse award. He angered many netizens who in turn mocked him for comparing himself with the King of comedy.

The 34-year-old’s agent spoke on his behalf yesterday and explained, “Leehom merely said that it’s not easy for a comedy to win an award and he meant that Chow has never won an award for Best Actor.”

Chow had won himself Best Supporting Actor for Final Justice in 1987, as well as Best Director and Best Film award for his recent flick Kung Fu Hustle.

Before Love in Disguise was released in theatres, Wang commented that movie critics were in favour of writing negative feedback to attract viewership, in fear of bad ratings.

Happily married for five years now, Matilda Tao and Li Li-Ren were recently present at the launch of the new Mitsubishi car, which is endorsed by the couple.

The couple went all mushy when they talked about holding hands in the car till they their palms turned sweaty, and even revealed that they tend to get lovey-dovey in their ride, with the occasional French kisses, backrubs and massages.

Li further explained that they only do such acts when the car is stationary at the red traffic light.

After working together in a supplement ad campaign, both husband and wife clinched the NTD 5mil (SGD 250,000) car endorsement deal plus a brand new ride from the Japanese automobile company.

Though the power couple appears ever-loving on and off the cameras, they would never carry out any ‘funny business’ in the car as Li is a “car and neat freak”, said Tao.

So is his wife or car more precious?

He replied, “I use my beloved [car] to take car of my beloved [wife].”

The 36-year-old has always been fond of fast cars, but has never been good at directions, missing his own home at times. The father of two daughters revealed that his wife is the navigator when it comes to travelling around town, often making sure he drives safely.

It was a rowdy class gathering as Kiki Sheung and husband Patrick Lee got hitched last Sunday in the presence of many TVB stars, most of which from her batch 12 training class back in 1982.

The fun began when Kiki invited her fellow classmates on stage, including Carina Lau, Margie Tsang, Lau Ching-wan, Michael Tao, Lawrence Ng and Sandra Ng.

Awkward silence followed when never been told before secrets were revealed and Margie announced that Kiki used to date one of the actors on stage.

The biggest suspect that night turned out to be Lau, after Kiki’s crush on him was exposed just before her wedding.

To fuel the flame, Eric Tsang, who was present that night, asked Kiki if she ever had a strong admiration for Johnny To. The bride firmly said, “yes”, much to the surprise of the guests.

Margie cleared the air when she disclosed that Kiki was referring to another classmate, who did not sign on with TVB.

Calling her crush on Lau as a “beautiful misunderstanding,” Kiki explained that they have been in contact with each other and used to be partners in acting class but never had a chance to be an onscreen couple after graduation.

Executive producer John Woo, director Chao-Bin Su and lead actress Michelle Yeoh were in Singapore over the weekend to promote their latest martial arts film Reign of Assassins.

Michelle was full of admiration and compliments for her fellow male lead and Korean actor, Jung Woo-sung, who plays her love interest in the movie.

The pair showed much chemistry during the Hong Kong premier of Reign of Assassins, where Jung publicly declared his love for the 48-year-old.

With all that emotions involved as a couple on set, Yeoh took the liberty to find out more about Jung’s love life and if he was dating anyone before filming began.

So is he in love at the moment?

“He only replied me with an “mm mm mm” and I don’t know what that means!” she said of her co-star, who was absent at the event.

Following the recent exposure of her brother, Bobby Yeoh’s extra-marital affairs with the buxomly actress Joey Choi Wai-mun, Yeoh remained tightlipped throughout the press conference and avoided questions unrelated to the movie.

Reign of Assassins tells the story of a retired highly-skilled assassin who falls in love and proposes to an ordinary man. Unbeknownst to her, the man she loves is secretly plotting revenge against her.

Yeoh expresses that in reality, she would definitely not take the initiative to speak to a man first, let alone propose.

Would she be worried if the person she loves turns out to be different person altogether?

The Bond girl added, “Love conquers all. If you have too many “what ifs” in your relationship, maybe he is not the one for you.”

When reporters asked if she will tie the knots with fiancé and FIA president, Jean Todt, the Malaysian-Chinese actress did not give a reply.

It has been 10 long years since Yeoh last participated in a martial arts film. Fond of doing her own stunts, the Hong Kong based artiste rejected using a stunt double during the set of Reign of Assassins.

Director John Woo, who is also good friends with Lee Ang, jokingly said that this might just be Michelle’s best performance to date, probably even outshining her role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Commenting on her fellow actress, Barbie Hsu’s brazen flesh-baring scene in the movie, Michelle said, “I never did and I don’t think I need to add that to my portfolio,” when asked if she would ever bare it all on-screen.

The replacement host from 100% Entertainment is finally getting his own hosting segment in the Taiwanese variety programme, Super Taste.

Huang Jing Lun will be partnering Zeng Zi Yu for Super Taste and has sacrificed many “first times” for the show.

On the first day hosting his first gourmet show, the Singaporean singer-host had to soak half-naked in the cold springs in front of the camera.

That was not all. Apart from encountering a typhoon on the first day of filming, Huang’s streak of bad luck continued and he was struck with stomach flu after consuming food presented to him by the restaurant owner.

The Momo Love actor was admitted into the emergency ward and even received an injection on his bum.

Filming will take place every alternate week for three days two nights. The Warner Music artiste shared that he is definitely looking forward to going around Taiwan with his partner Zeng.

After 11 hours of labour pain that started from Sunday, Jang Dong-gun’s wife Ko So-young has safely given birth to a son through caesarean section (C-section) in the wee hours of Monday.

Earlier in May this year, Jang tied the knot with his then four months pregnant wife Ko, who stayed home most of the time after marriage.

Ko’s due date was originally on the 10th this month. But after 11 hours of labour the 37-year-old decided to opt for C-section and successfully gave birth to a son yesterday.

Her management revealed that Ko originally wanted a natural birth. However, due to the prolonged labour hours, the doctor felt that it was safer to do a C-section as Ko may not be able to withstand the long wait.

Jang reportedly spent NTD 380,000 (SGD 20,000) to admit his wife into a VIP ward in the hospital, where she will be staying for at least seven days. The actor has spent another NTD 100,000 (SGD 5000) to store his child’s umbilical cord.

The 38-year-old was with his wife throughout labour and made the official announcement that both mother and child are safe, thanking fans for their well-wishes.

According to a fortune teller, the baby’s arrival would definitely bring Jang some luck. The Hollywood premier of his new film, The Warrior’s Way, is scheduled for a Thursday release.

At a press conference held yesterday for his upcoming concert tour which will kick off on Dec 20, Andy Lau addressed speculations of his wife, Carol Choo, being three months pregnant.

The Heavenly King said with a smile, “There’s really no such thing happening.”

Deannie Yip, a veteran actress in Hong Kong’s showbiz and Andy’s godmother, who was also invited to the press conference, did not hesitate to urge Andy to hurry for a child when he denied the rumours.

When the 49-year-old tried to dismiss the topic, host of the event, Eric Tsang, reminded him that he’d better listen to his mother.

When questioned on the need of hiring bodyguards for Carol, he explained that the entourage consisted of her chauffeur and assistants. Andy gave a non-committal reply when quizzed on the possibility of having a rabbit baby in 2011.

Since his departure from Korean pop group Super Junior, Han Geng is all ready to fly solo with his first appearance in Singapore last Friday. He officially left SuJu to break into the Mandopop industry as a “newcomer” and was in to town promote his first album Geng Xin launched in July.

During his meet-and-greet session with local fans in Singapore, Han Geng was in high spirits during the press conference as he talked about shopping and eating local food upon touching down on Thursday.

He also gleefully mentioned that the shirt he was wearing was bought on that day itself.

When asked about love during an exclusive interview with xinmsn, Han Geng revealed his shy nature and bashfully revealed that he is a “passive and unromantic person”.

“I’m really shy!

“I’m more of an introvert and am not very good with words,” he quipped.

How would he chase a girl then?

The adroit dancer replied, “Maybe I would send her messages and maybe ask her out for a dinner date. I am really shy!”

Known for his filial piety, Han Geng opened two dumpling shops to fulfill his mother’s lifelong dream.

So has he thought about starting a family to comply with his parents’ wish?

“There isn’t even a girl who wants to be with me! Besides, who would want a boyfriend who has no time for her?” he said with a smile.

With response to SuJu leader Lee Tuek’s wish to have all 13 of them perform together again before he enters army, Han expressed that he would definitely love for that to happen if the management and the law permits.

Due to the impending lawsuit with his Korean management company, hopes of Super Junior re-uniting will probably not take place in the near future.

As to why he left his management, 26-year-old Han said he simply wanted a happy environment to work in.

His arrival to Singapore saw over 500 fans, many of whom bearing flowers and gifts.

For someone who is so grounded and grew up through tough times, Han expressed his appreciation to fans but discouraged the gifts. “If everyone took out ten dollars, this money can be pooled for a charity and help others in need instead.”

Ethan Ruan has secured a Best Actor nomination for his role in Monga, while Mark Zhao’s lackluster performance cost him a nomination in the release of the 47th Golden Horse Awards nominations last Friday.

Director Chang Tso-chi’s When Love Comes is the hot-favourite with a total of 14 nominations including Best Director and Best Film. Bodyguards and Assassins is another heavyweight contender with nine nominations, including Best Supporting Actor nominee Nicholas Tse who is expected to turn up at the awards with his wife and kids.

Taiwan Box Office Champion Monga, with only four nominations, has failed to enter the Best Film and Best Director categories. Ethan Ruan’s nomination makes him the only Taiwan representative for the Best Actor category.

Based on his role in Black & White, Mark Zhao clinched the Best Actor during the 44th Golden Bell Awards, but failed to impress the judges this time for Monga.

Director Doze Niu assured fans not to get too frustrated over this matter as netizens felt that the movie did not get the credit it deserved as a whole.

Mark expressed that he did not feel disappointed over the nominations and thanked his fans for the support. Asked on Ethan’s nomination, the 26-year-old said that he is definitely rooting for him to win.

In hopes to forget his ex-wife Charlene Choi, Ronald Cheng has covered up his “Charlene” tattoo with brand new ink.

According to Hong Kong publications, Ronald has gotten her name inked on his inner right arm back in 2005. But in order to keep the relationship under wraps, he would always be decked out in long sleeves, even in the summer.

However, he was spotted donning a short-sleeved top during his meet up with director Wong Jing at Kowloon Shangri-La last week, revealing three Ace poker cards and a goldfish tattoo.

His inner arm which used to bear the tattoo of Charlene’s name now sports a naked woman floating on clouds. He had no qualms of hiding his newly acquired ink even in the presence of paparazzi.

Ronald was said to have gone back and forth to Taiwan three times since May to get his cover-up ink done with a tattoo artist friend.

When asked during a phone interview if he removed the Charlene tattoo to forget a past he regretted, he said, “I don’t know how to answer you. But everyone has done something at some point in their lives where they felt was the right thing to do. Even if changes are made in future, it doesn’t mean that you have to regret what has been done. Plus, I never mentioned what tattoos I have before.”

Jolin Tsai puts in much effort on her date with model boyfriend Vivian Dawson, dressing younger to bridge the age gap between them and driving a rental car to avoid the shutterbugs!

The Taiwanese pop princess was seen busy practicing her new MV ‘Black-Haired Beautiful Girl’ the night before while her assistant was taking care of her dog WhooHoo and bringing her meals from time to time.

Jolin was spotted leaving at around 10 at night with her assistant and WhooHoo following closely behind.

Decked in a white top with jeans, she also wore a cute ribbon accessory on her head. It was believed that the 30-year-old was trying to bridge the four-year age gap with her 26-year-old beau Vivian.

Instead of cruising around in her own Lexus, Jolin took reporters by surprise when she drove off in a white Mitsubishi rental that was parked outside her door.

Although her management has addressed that the rental vehicle belongs her assistant’s, it is speculated that Jolin decided to drive said vehicle instead to avoid the paparazzi during her meet-up with Vivian.

Gravity defying parkour performances (better known as the art of movement), acrobatics contortion, Shaolin kung-fu, powerhouse medley of timeless tunes, heart-stomping percussion number. Hosted by Soo Kui Jien and Michelle Chia, this year’s President Star Charity will be a night of talent showcase featuring a combination of music, dance and acrobatic display, in high definition glory for the first time.

At the press meet yesterday, the media was given a preview of a couple of performances from percussionists Bloco Singapura, beatboxer [and Idol 3 contestant] Charles “Stitch” Wong and 9-year-old drumming sensation Zidann.

Not to be missed will be the opera singing Tay Ping Hui who will, for the first time, perform ‘Italian opera’ as part of a medley in “Andrea Bocelli style”. The actor who’s always up for new challenges told xinmsn: “When the company asked me what I’d like to do [for PSC 2010], opera just popped to my mind.”

“I didn’t know they’ll take me seriously but they did!” Having attended three lessons thus far, the self-professed perfectionist who doesn’t speak Italian humbly rated five and a half out of 10 for his apprenticeship, citing “it’s always good to pit ourselves amongst the best”.

When asked about his missus’ reaction to his new challenge, Ping Hui replied: “She’s used to me doing weird things and practicing extra-ordinary stuff in my backyard in the middle of the night.”

Local funnyman Gurmit Singh who’s another regular face on charity shows will ditch his [Michael Jackson] dancing shoes for acrobatic stunts this time. The 45-year-old will join professional traceurs to perform a special parkour item to “scale heights and obstacles”.

At 45 years old, is Gurmit pushing his limits with such gravity defying stunts?

“Yes I am! But if I were to go onstage and do something easy how boring is that for viewers? Let alone to part their money and donate.”

“This is one of those stunts that I find I’m really pushing myself because it’s totally new to me. It’s challenging but totally worth it for the beneficiaries.”

Amongst the artistes who will be lending their vocal talents through a medley of English tunes from timeless classics is Channel 8 actress Patricia Mok.

The funny woman who was last year’s “performer of the night” when she did a Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” was noticeably disappointed about her “not challenging” singing segment.

“Singing…I cannot sing you know! I want to be a dancer like last year!” Pat exclaimed and added, “But honestly that’s a challenge for me lah because I don’t like to sing.”

“But since it’s group and it’s for charity, I can try lah.”

It was Chris and Fann’s first wedding anniversary on the 29th of September, but the pair was unable to spend it together with Fann filming in Suzhou, China and Christopher needed on set in Singapore.

During an exclusive interview with xinmsn at a press conference for China Singapore IN-Concert last Thursday , Chris revealed that he had plans to fly over to visit his wife but was unable to do so as he was tied down with the filming of Breakout.

Coincidentally, Fann’s fans visited the starlet’s film location in Suzhou and presented Chris, who bought a bouquet of 99 roses here, with the perfect opportunity to have it delivered to his wife.

The 39-year-old coordinated with the fans to make sure he wished her at the perfect timing when she received the flowers. “At least there’s a memory we can both keep even if we are worlds apart,” he said with a smile.

So what was Fann’s reaction? “She was probably embarrassed with so many people around but I’m sure she’s happy lah ,” he added.

Proper celebration will only take place after he filming in Singapore is wrapped up at the end of October, if not, he would have to wait till Fann comes back from her set in November.

To mark the 20th anniversary of China-Singapore diplomatic relations, China-Singapore IN-Concert was presented to feature performances of well-loved songs and music pieces from movies and television series dating 20 years back or further.

During the press conference, Christopher recalls being on about 10 drama serials that were filmed in China, with the toughest set Moon Fairy with Fann in Hebei, China in 2003. It was below 20 degrees and Fann fell ill whilst he was lucky to have survived without even catching a cold.

Talking about fan favourite serial, The Condor Heroes, he admits that despite the hardship, the memories were definitely bittersweet.

After Breakout wraps up, Chris will be filming a light-hearted drama by Wawa Pictures in November.

A disgruntled Xiao Xiao Bin cried jokingly on the set of variety show Zhu Ge’s return days earlier: “I’ve acted and cried for half a year, but still, there’s no award.”

The young child sensation, who shot to fame in hit Taiwanese idol drama, Autumn’s Concerto, last year, lamented at not being nominated for any categories in the upcoming “Taiwan Golden Bell Awards”.

His innocent blabber tickled everyone on set and prompted veteran host, Zhu Geliang, to ask Xiao Xiao Bin: “Who acts better, Xiao Bin Bin or you?”

Xiao Bin Bin, a former child star, is Xiao Xiao Bin’s father.

The child replied matter-of-factly, “My dad is better; he’s won a Golden Bell award. I didn’t! I don’t even have a nomination!”

Zhang Yaodong’s promise to viewers: If ratings for The Score exceed millions in viewership, he’s going to strip down to his swimming trunks.

The agreement was made when main leads of The Score, Zhang Yaodong and Paige Chua attended Y.E.S. 93.3FM afternoon programme, Suntan Da Bai Sha, for promotions on Tuesday.

Hosted by impish duo Dennis Chew and Ivy Chen, Yaodong promptly relented when the two deejays incited the actor to attend their radio show in swimming trunks – on the condition that The Score breaks record ratings held by household hit Taiwanese drama, Love.

If it does happen, the act will be broadcasted “live” via webcam.

“We will broadcast the radio show through webcam for everybody to watch!” 93.3 DJ Dennis quipped.

Not to be outdone, co-star Paige has also agreed to giveaway shower foam and lozenges – products she endorses – as prizes for listeners.

When xinmsn contacted the handsome Malaysian actor in a phone interview days earlier, he expressed jitters about his possible impending “flesh-parade”.

“There’s truly a lot of pressure!” Yaodong laughed.

“I haven’t had the chance to watch the edited version of the show. Paige and I are anticipating for the drama to air,” he added.

Albeit aware of the unpredictability of viewership ratings, Yaodong was confident about the quality of the production.

“The Score is a melodramatic thriller, and will bear a striking difference to other family-oriented dramas produced, “he explained.

The Score will be aired on Ch 8, weekdays at 9pm starting October 4.

The couple tied the knot on Valentine’s Day earlier this year at Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. They will throw a wedding banquet in Hong Kong during November this year and have decided to release these teaser wedding photos to the public.

Although Jordan had always loved the traditional Chinese wedding culture, he didn’t want to be called conventional and typical. The 43-year-old then came up with the idea of having a set of vintage wedding shots taken.

In this photo, you can see the couple wearing Cultural Revolution uniforms and Cherrie, 27, donning the signature ponytail of that era. One shot even featured the Taiwanese-born actress squatting down to tidy her husband’s pants, aptly displaying their great chemistry.

After a failed romance with Vic Zhou , are things finally looking up for Barbie Hsu in the romance department?

Taiwanese artiste Barbie Hsu (also better known as Da S) has been single for more than two years following her separation from Vic Zhou in Jan 2008. The 33-year-old actress was recently spotted in the company of Shone An, a member from the now-defunct pop group, Comic Boys.

The pair was seen chatting and holding hands as they made their way to Shone’s birthday celebration.

Although Barbie instinctively pushed her cap down to shield her face when the both of them discovered the presence of paparazzi, she did not shrink away from Shone’s side and continued holding onto hand.

When the photos surfaced on the internet, Barbie commented on the Chinese micro-blogging platform, Wei Bo, and wrote, “Shone, we were followed! Our photos were snapped and there are even rumours! I really look like your aunty…”

In response to Barbie’s statement, Shone replied a few minutes later saying, “You don’t look like an aunty. You are a hot babe.”

Barbie’s manager, Dou Dou, refuted allegations of a blossoming romance between the pair and expressed, “There shouldn’t be [any romance]! The both of them are just really good friends who have known each other for many years. It was Shone’s birthday and the both of them happened to be in Beijing and met at the party.

“His relationship to Barbie is similar to his relationship with Ady Ang. They are like siblings!”

Commenting on the part of Barbie and Shone holding hands, Dou Dou explained that Shone was merely being a gentleman “taking care of Barbie who injured her hand during filming”.

“Barbie was in Beijing to treat her hand. She will continue filming in Hangzhou today,” the manager added.

As for the pair’s constant exchanges on Wei Bo, Dou Dou chuckled, “It’s [Barbie and Shone's exchange on Wei Bo] not very frequent and only happened over the past few days. As they are both in Beijing and have met up with each other, there would naturally be more exchanges!”

Negating on the possibilities of a romantic relationship between Barbie and Shone, she revealed that the company is also waiting to hear good news from the actress on her love life.

“But there is really none now!” Dou Dou replied.

At a press conference for Reign of Assassins held a few days ago, Barbie expressed that she has “Yet to meet the right person”. After confirmations of her participation in Raymond Wong’s Lunar New Year flick All’s Well ,Ends Well, Cecilia Cheung is set to join the likes of Rebecca Tang, Rene Liu and Korean Superstar Han Jae Suk in Jingle Ma’s latest film, Dynamic Angel.

Cecilia’s agent Emily has confirmed the news with reporters.

According to sources, the 30-year-old agreed to take up this role to thank Ma for helping to pave her career in the early days. She was invited to star in Night of the Shooting Stars back then and the movie gained remarkable feedback, which in turn kickstarted her acting career.

In an earlier interview, Han jokingly mentioned that he would ask pointers from his good friend Hyun Bin, who acted with Rebecca Tang in the movie, Late Autumn.

On the other hand, Raymond revealed on his blog that we can expect to see an extensive cast such as Donnie Yen, Carina Lau, Louis Koo, Cecilia, Angelababy, Irene Wong and many more in All’s Well, Ends Well, due to release during Lunar New Year 2011.

Reportedly single since her rumoured split with lover Leon Lai in 2004, and rejected by Taiwanese actor Chang Chen, the disillusioned Shu Qi has turned her attention to houses.

During a promotional trip to Beijing for her movie Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen, the actress was spotted secretly shopping for a luxury villa at a upper class district in Beijing.

Properties in that district are reportedly worth at least RMB 14 million (SGD 2.8 million).

Currently busy with the filming of acclaimed film director Feng Xiaogang’s new movie, If You Are the One 2, the prolific starlet was named one of the highest earner in the industry, reaping in an estimated HKD 20 million (SGD 4 million) last year.

Filming in China for the past year, Andy, who has just turned 49, has been consistently tight-lipped about his marriage. As Carol continues to reside in Hong Kong, Andy takes extra precaution to make sure she is shielded from unnecessary media attention.

According to sources, Andy bought a Kadoorie Hill apartment located in Kowloon earlier this year under the name of Choo’s relative as a gift for his wife. He even went to the extent of purchasing two more 7-seater SUVs to ferry Mrs Lau around to shun the media eye.

Andy has also secretly transferred another two Kadoorie Hill estates, previously under his father’s company, to Carol’s overseas company where she is a shareholder.

It is also said that two other Kadoorie Hill properties that were sold in 2008 were also later transferred to her Malaysian relatives. With all his assets in the hands of his ex-beauty queen wife, Carol’s status has without a doubt been inaugurated.

49-year-old Andy Lau has always wanted to be a dad.

According to Hong Kong reports, their prayers have been heard after one year and word has it that Andy’s missus, Carol Choo, is now three months pregnant.

An eyewitness caught sight of Mrs Lau more than a month ago at the gynecologist’s in St Paul’s Hospital under the escort of her maid and bodyguards.

Spotted with a fuller figure last month, Carol was also seen in Causeway Bay with a female friend. The ex-beauty queen scurried to her car when she realized she was being followed by the paparazzi.

When questioned about the pregnancy at the movie premiere of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame, Andy did not refute the rumours and smilingly said, “Be good and don’t ask.”

With a movie promotion underway, a new album in the works, and ongoing rehearsals for his New Year’s Eve concert, Andy showed no signs of fatigue on the set of his MV in Taiwan two days ago. Despite his tight work schedule, he appeared coquettish while shaking his booty.

Andy’s family and friends have remained tight-lipped about the pregnancy rumours. His TVB buddies Ken Tong and Michael Miu have both suggested that they are unaware of such news.

Ken Tong said, “I would definitely congratulate him if it’s true.”

There has yet to be any formal response from his Taiwan entourage, as they expressed that this is his personal matter and they will leave it as that.

During their courtship days, the pious Carol even went to the Snake Temple in Malaysia to pray for a child. After the exposure of their marriage back in August last year, Andy publicly announced online that they have been trying to get pregnant via in vitro fertilization.

There were also rumours late last year that Andy bought an apartment for his wife near their Kadoorie Hill home for her to concentrate on getting pregnant without disturbance from the paparazzi.

With her career on the way up – the actress had just completed a Channel 8 drama in which she has a major lead role – and a seven-year relationship still going strong, things are looking rosy for the 29-year-old.

Speaking to xinmsn at the press conference for MediaCorp’s latest melodramatic thriller The Score recently, Paige revealed that she has been in a relationship with a guy who’s not in showbiz for seven years.

Is marriage and children in the pipeline?

The lanky actress, who expressed that both she and boyfriend are highly individualistic people, dismissed the idea, telling xinmsn that while she has no plans on settling down in the short-term, she was “receptive to having kids”.

“I’ve thought about it. If I don’t have a partner when I’m in my 40s or 50s, I’ll most likely adopt children.”

Paige also added that out of respect for her boyfriend, she will avoid disclosing his identity to the public.

In the upcoming drama, Paige plays an employee turned illegitimate daughter of a business tycoon – a meaty role alongside veteran artiste Xiang Yun and Huang Wenyong.

She later gets entangled in a love triangle with Zhang Yaodong and Adam Chen.

Making her debut in drama Just in Singapore as the haughty and materialistic sister of Fiona Xie more than two years ago, Paige is more often than not, touted as an up-and-coming starlet on Caldecott Hill.

Yet, the confident lass feel no pressure on feeling the gaps of the departed “princesses”.

Compared to a fleeting success, the unassuming actress prefers to stay grounded while talking things one step at a time.

Having just renewed a one-year acting contract with MediaCorp in June this year, Paige said: “I’m not a person who plans my life. A one year period is just right. When that time is up…and if I’ve lost the passion for acting, I’ll leave [showbiz].”

If not for his mum, singer Jerry Yan would probably be a gigolo instead of the pop idol he is today.

“Because I’m good at peeling grape skins, I had the potential to be a gigolo,” joked Jerry Yan at the recording of Chinese variety show, Fei Chang Jing Ju Li.

“I nearly went astray when I was young. If not for my mum who brought me back to the right path, there wouldn’t be me today. “

Currently in China for promotions of his latest pictorial book, which reportedly took five years to produce, Jerry talked at lengths about his family.

As a child from a single-parent family, the pop star felt that he never knew how to love somebody, and also added that he shared a “sibling-like” relationship with his divorcee mum.

“In certain aspects, I’m more like an older brother (to my mum),” he quipped.

The star also revealed that he felt like he has failed in all his relationships.

“Even if I wanted to, I don’t know how to express my love sometimes. I only know how to carry all burdens on my shoulder,” he said.

To maintain Jerry’s idol image, his surprising revelation will not be aired on television. However, raw clips of the recording have since gone viral.

A mysterious person with the initials “L.S.” made headlines with his love confession for the Mandopop singer.

‘L.S’ reportedly spent NTD 400,000 (SGD 200,000) on a half-page spread in Taiwan’s Apple and declared his feelings there.

He wrote, “Dear Elva, without you, I’d be a soul without a purpose. Just one smile from you would make my whole world bright. Forgive me for wanting to be with you when I grow old. Now all I ask is one chance, to try to win your heart. – L.S.”

Elva, who was both shocked and pleasantly surprised at the love confession, said, “It’s really romantic. It would be even more (romantic) if I had feelings for him too.”

She had her doubts though, and asked, “Are you sure that it is not published by the management company?”

“You have to be really brave to do something like this. It’s like he wants to bring me home and marry me,” the abashed singer added.

The initials ‘L.S.’ are widely speculated to represent the words “Love Sunny”, which might refer to Elva’s ex-boyfriend whom she endearingly addressed as ‘Sunny Prince’ in Chinese.

In line with Raymond’s previous All’s Well, Ends Well movie series, a character will be specially created for the mother-of-two and she will share the screen with fellow veterans in the industry such as Donnie Yen, Louis Koo and Carina Lau.

According to insiders, the movie’s hilarious characters and lighthearted nature are synonymous to Cecilia’s current status as a mother of two sons. The movie’s star-studded lineup is also believed to be the other contributing factor behind her nod of approval.

The 30-year-old will be filming this movie for about 10 days. She is said to be pocketing a hefty paycheck of about HKD 1m (SGD 170,000) each day.
