Sexy mama Christy Chung coy about love life

Age is but a number – if you look half as gorgeous as Canadian-Chinese actress Christy Chung.

The mother of three turns 40 this month, and she looks just as good as she\’s aged.

\”Age doesn\’t matter, you know, like a bottle of wine or cheese,\” said Christy.

\”I\’m old enough to know and young enough to try!\” she added and broke into a hearty laugh at her own proclamation.

Christy who has been Marie France Bodyline\’s celebrity spokesperson for 12 years now, was in town for the brand\’s new product launch event yesterday.

All smiles and looking dazzling as she made her entrance, the glamourous superstar showed off her shapely silhouette in a sequin mini dress and impossibly high heels.

The actress is currently based in Beijing with her music producer husband Jon Yen, their two daughters Jayden, 2, Cayla, seven months as well as Yasmine, 12, from her previous marriage.

Sensing the media\’s prying eyes as she speaks fondly of her three daughters, Christy who gave birth to her third daughter Cayla in February was quick to assure reporters \”this is officially my last baby, the factory is closed!\”, much to everyone\’s amusement.

With three young kids, ongoing beauty endorsement deals, a girl-band group named \”Goddess\” which she founded five years ago and now a comeback movie career, as she is set to return to the big screen come November in a Hong Kong production – Bruce Lee, My Brother – where she plays Bruce Lee\’s mother in the biopic, after a six-year hiatus from acting, Christy has got her hands full managing it all.

So, how would she rate her priorities as a wife, mother and actress?

\”Motherhood definitely comes first because my kids are so young right now.\”

\”But between wife and an artiste…oh, this is the most difficult question today!\” She exclaimed with a nervous laugh.

\”I think that when you have kids, it\’s very precious and important that you maintain your relationship with your husband. But sometimes because of my maternal instinct I tend to forget the needs of my husband because we are both very busy. We try to make an effort and to go on dates…\”

What do they do to keep the marriage fires burning?

\”This year would be our 10th year together and I truly believe it takes a lot of effort to keep the sparks because the past three years I\’ve been pregnant, and then pregnant again so it\’s very tiring. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I have a bigger baby to take care of.\” (Laughs)

\”Let\’s just say we need a vacation soon, just the two of us!\”

To be honest, this reporter was hoping for some exciting ins and outs of the actress\’s marriage life. But sadly, Christy is adamantly consistent but politely tactful in keeping her personal life, personal.

Still smiling but sounding somewhat toned-down, the typically bubbly actress added: \”I\’ve to say that I\’m not a person who rates priority. I\’m a person who multi-task so every day everybody is a priority.\”

Once voted the \”Sexiest Woman in Asia\” by FHM Magazine, Christy exudes that touch of distinctive sexiness and beauty that rivals even Shu Qi\’s physical qualities.

So, how does Christy\’s husband feel about her missus \”sexy mama\” status?

\”I think you have to ask him, I don\’t know! I think at this stage and age, we don\’t really need to talk about this anymore.\”

Dating fans a no-go for Jay Park

We hate to shatter fan girls’ hearts, but a romantic relationship with fans is not possible – at least “not for now”, so said Jay Park.

The former leader and member of Korean boyband 2PM is so busy jumpstarting his career that romance has to take a back seat.

“Right now, I’m just kinda trying to do my thing with crew Art Of Movement (Seattle-based b-boy dance group), and to find my sound and place in this business and as a person. So… (a relationship is) not (possible) right now.”

In September last year, netizens had digged up posts made by the Korean-American on his MySpace page back in 2005. Jay had expressed his frustration about his tough pop-star trainee days by passing dissing comments on Koreans and the nation on his webpage then.

The incident incurred the wrath of Koreans and led to Jay’s premature boot from 2PM.

Making his return as a solo artiste, Jay’s career is taking flight – his debut single Nothin On You reached more than 70,000 copies in sales within the first week of its release.

Jay was in town for his one-night only music showcase at Wave House Sentosa last Saturday. The singer-break-dancer, together with AOM, also participated in a dance exhibition battle with local dance group.

Speaking at a press conference last week, the unassuming pop star expressed happily that he was overwhelmed by the warm reception from local fans upon his arrival at the airport.

“I’d only thought there’ll only be a few people. But…yeah….a lot of people came out and there was a very warm welcome. (Gesturing to waiting fans outside the venue) I can’t ask for more. It was very good,” he said, in American-accented English.

The fans’ are showing him the love, but how would Jay show his to his date?

“Bring her some flowers or a present at first. Maybe go pick her up at her house or something…and then take her out to dinner. Nothing really out of the box, just make it a simple date, but it’s kinda personal and special I guess,” he enthused.

When probed about his ideal type of girl, Jay revealed that he is attracted to “girls that are kinda chill,” and added that he like females who “don’t dress up too much” and has a “nice smile”.

The self-professed tattoo-lover, who sports inks behind his ear and chest, also confessed that he finds tattoos on the lower back of females to be really sexy. From being forced to keep a low profile in America to seeing success as a solo artiste, Jay likens his experience to a ‘roller-coaster ride’.

“Everything is fine at last. You can make mistakes, but you’ll need to learn from it. I don’t regret anything and I hope that I’ll grow to be a better person.”

Jay shared on a parting note, “It’s good now…to be able to perform with my friends is already a dream come true. I hope life continues to bring me on a good path.”

Vanness Wu breaks up with girlfriend

It’s over for Vanness Wu and Singaporean girlfriend Arissa Cheo.

Speaking through his manager yesterday, the star confirmed the news, stating that the pair had “indeed broken up, but are in contact, and are still friends.”

The former F4 member revealed in April this year that he had patched up with ex-girlfriend Arissa. Marriage was on the cards during their reconciliation then.

The two used to date for a year in 2006, but broke up when the pair drifted apart when Arissa was studying in the US.

In a post dated September 4 on Twitter, the 31-year-old actor-singer hinted at his heartache and breakup with his squeeze.

“No [,] I’m not saaayin~ [that I'm] soooorrry~ One DAY! Maybe we’ll meet again~~~Closer to the edge,” wrote Vanness.

A day earlier, he posted, “where it lies, is where you left it, where you left it, is where it died… revive, revive… revive the heart.”

News of their breakup surfaced when eagle-eyed Taiwanese netizens discovered that the couple was no longer following each other on Twitter. Arissa also posted a picture on her Twitter, where she was seen posing with a guy – believed to be her new lover.

A devout Christian, Vanness has taken a chastity pledge against pre-marital sex.

However, his ex-girlfriend is widely known for her liberal ways like posing sexy pictures of herself online. Could a clash of “sexual interest” be the catalyst to the failed relationship?

Vanness’s manager responded, “He feels that she is not a celebrity, and hopes for her privacy to be respected. It’s not convenient for him to speak about such topics.”

Arissa has also denied allegations that the breakup was due to a third party.

Vanness is currently busy with preparations for his upcoming album. He will be heading to France for the filming of his new drama, Material Queen, in October.

Sandra Ng seeks surrogacy?

When the going gets tough; it’s time to look for help.

Hong Kong actress recently expressed that getting pregnant is so much of a hassle that she’s considering surrogacy.

Previously rumoured to be pregnant with her second child with her long-time partner, director Peter Chan, Sandra had came out to flatly deny the news.

Sporting a new short bob during a public appearance for her new film All About Love, the actress expressed that instead of pregnancy, she has plans to attempt surrogacy.

“Waiting to get pregnant? It’s more like I am looking for a surrogate mother. Friends have passed me information about surrogates and I am very interested.”

Sandra added that pregnancy was simply too much trouble.

“Pregnancy is really too time-consuming. You have to carry a big belly and after delivering the child you’ll need to regain your figure. It takes about two years. I’d rather settle for a surrogate to take care of it all,” said the 45-year-old.

However, the actress added that she would have to seek the elders’ opinions before making any decisions.

Meanwhile, the actress has congratulated Michelle Reis on being three-month pregnant and would be meeting her for a meal next week to “exchange pregnancy tips”.

Rainie Yang: From Cutesy to Sexy?

A girl’s got to grow up, and Rainie Yang is one that’s doing so.

The singer, who is well-known for her cutie-pie image in the mandopop scene, wants a breakthrough come October at her concert in Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Speaking to xinmsn during her concert promotions in Singapore last week, Rainie revealed that she would like to present a sexier self on stage.

“After seeing some of my Taipei concert’s performance clips, I felt that I wasn’t sexy enough! I’ve decided that I want to challenge the limits of my sexiness during the Singapore concert.”

Ten years into her entertainment career, the starlet is finally staging her first full-scale concert in town, following her first one at Taipei in April this year.

Dubbed as Rainie Yang’s “Yi Xiang Tian Kai (fantasy imagination)” concert, the singer is sparing no efforts at letting her imagination take flight.

With a variety of costume changes in the concert’s lined up, the pop singer promises a visual feast; a fairytale-like “Ali-Baba” inspired get up, loud neon clothes made of pink hair wigs and a creative furniture-meets-fabric fusion “crystal lamp” dress, just to name a few.

So, how will Rainie exude her sexy charms?

Pausing to ponder, the singer continued, “I can only depend on the gaze of my eyes! Considering my figure, haha…it’s not possible [to look sexy in that way]… (laughs self-mockingly) Real sexiness comes from a combination of one’s gaze and voice.”

While she’s preparing to wow local audience with a fantasy-like concert, Rainie confided that the concert bore more significance that one would think.

For one, the title of her first concert reflects Rainie’s career as a versatile artiste, having shown her fans a mirage of persona from her performances as singer, actress and host.

On the other hand, “Yi Xiang Tian Kai” is the 26-year-old’s way of redressing unsupportive comments lashed out by critics during her rookie years.

Reminiscing on her past, Rainie recalled, “During times when I wasn’t look upon highly, people told me ‘You want to hold a concert? You’re indulging in fantasy!’ Hence, calling my concert “Yi Xiang Tian Kai” is to prove that my thoughts are not ‘fantasy’.”

Indeed, the starlet has all the reasons to be taken seriously.

Recently nominated for her role in idol drama Hi My Sweetheart in the upcoming Taiwan Golden Bell Awards, Rainie Yang will be up for running in the Best Actress category. Her co-star, pop singer Show Luo, is also nominated for the Best Actor Award.

On her nomination, Rainie expressed joy, but emphasised that she harboured no ambition to clinch the tile. Instead, she hopes that her co-star would receive ample recognition.

“Show Luo have to win the award! I really feel that the [drama's] character was made for him. Without him, there won’t be a second person who can portray the role. He’s deserving of the award,” said Rainie excitedly.

Rainie Yang Singapore concert 2010 will be held on October 16 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets are available at all SISTIC outlets.

Cecilia Cheung is Hong Kong’s highest earning celebrity mum

Power mum Cecilia Cheung proves that one’s popularity does not decline with marriage and kids.

Ever since the birth of her second son, Quintus, in May this year, the actress-singer has been hot property amongst commercial bosses, directors and movie producers – all of whom are scurrying to get Cecilia to collaborate on their projects.

Cecilia’s current asking fee is reportedly double of that before she got married. The actress reaped a whopping HKD 20 million (SGD 4 million) from endorsements alone. This figure is only set to increase if the actress makes her return to the silver screens.

Cecilia’s elder son, Lucas, is a lucrative cash cow himself, with actor-director Stephen Chow reportedly offering both mother and son roles in his upcoming film,The King of Comedy 2.

The three-year-old is rumoured to be worth HKD 3 million (SGD 600,000).

Coming in second on the chart is singer Kelly Chen, who had reportedly cashed in TWD 7 million (SGD 1.4 million) just from attending fuss-free endorsement events and filming simple commercials.

Kelly gave birth to her first child, son Chace Lau, in July last year. Like mum, the toddler is also on his way to reaping big bucks. It was rumoured that a businessman was willing to offer HKD 5 million (SGD 1 million) to get the boy, and his celebrity mum, to star in a commercial together.

Second runner-up on the chart is actress Michelle Reis. The star, who recently announced her pregnancy, is rumoured to be worth HKD 5 million (SGD 1 million).

Jolin Tsai’s 3-hour rendezvous with male model

After their mini vacation in Tokyo, the pair reportedly met up for three consecutive days — three hours each time — despite the ongoing threat of Typhoon Fanapi and Jolin’s busy promotion schedule for her latest album release, Myself, in China.

According to the Hong Kong press, Jolin was seen boarding a car with a fellow female friend last Friday. The car circled the neighbourhood aimlessly in an attempt to shrug off the paparazzi.

Moments later, Jolin’s friend reportedly alighted from the car and moved to the front seat after surveying the surroundings and giving the Taiwanese Pop Princess an ‘all-clear’ signal. After which, Vivian was seen boarding the car hastily and sat in the rear area with Jolin.

The duo was seen taking a cab to Jolin’s place at 2am later that night.

Two days later, despite threats from Typhoon Fanapi, Vivian was seen leaving his place for Jolin’s house and stayed for three hours, leaving only at four in the morning. Half-an-hour after his departure, Jolin boarded her manager’s car and left for Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to start her promotional activities in Chengdu, China.

Jolin’s manager, Wang Yong Liang responded towards allegations of his artiste’s ongoing romance with Vivian and said, “The both of them are just friends. The rest of it is the artiste’s personal affair. We will not comment on it.”

During the recording of a Chinese programme, the 30-year-old singer admitted that she was in Tokyo with Vivian, “I was on holiday at that time. We are very good friends and had lots of fun together.”

Despite Jolin’s admittance, when the topic shifted to her romantic relationship with Vivian, Jolin maintained a non-committal stance and avoided said topic.

On Vivan’s end, the 1.9m-tall model wore a wry smile on his face when questioned on his relationship with Jolin. When asked if he knew that Jay Chou used to be Jolin’s ex-boyfriend, he smiled and gave a slight nod while his manager stepped forth and replied, “Everyone knows this!”

When reporters mentioned of Jay’s plans to win back Jolin’s heart, Vivian’s manager said, “This is none of their business!” and proceeded to drag him away.

Lee Hom’s plan to go topless a no-go

It was supposed to be a happy affair, but things didn’t turn out as expected.

For Lee Hom’s new music video ‘Xu Yao Ren Pei’, the singer took a leap of faith and decided to show some flesh – a rare first move for the reserved superstar.

As the song talks about the feelings of lovelorn singles experiencing loneliness at night, Lee Hom decided to portray his emotions by depicting scenes of romance between city-dwellers.

During filming, Lee Hom had to lie on a bed, while a sexy female model attempts to unbutton his clothes seductively.

So provocative was the act that female crew members on set turned bashful on seeing Lee Hom film the scene.

“This is not the Wang Lee Hom that I know of,” they said.

The good-looking singer-songwriter, one of the most coveted bachelors in the Mandopop scene, has previously filmed a “bedroom scene” with actress Shu Qi in MV ‘Di Yi Ge Qing Chen’. However, there had been no actual intimate contact during filming then.

The star, who had intentionally uglified himself in his directorial debut film Love in Disguise, hopes that the MV will continue to help defy stereotypes about him.

“Although filming (intimate scenes) can get a little embarrassing, it’s still worth it to give my ‘first-time” to my own MV,” Lee Hom said.

While the 33-year-old is excited about challenging new grounds, his record company is fretting over Lee Hom’s venture.

For fear of ruining the singer’s clean image, Lee Hom’s label originally planned to censor overtly explicit scenes from the MV – only to receive strong objections from the star himself, who insisted otherwise for aesthetics sake.

Both sides finally came to a compromise and Lee Hom’s new MV will be specially edited into a “romantic version” for air on television.

The full uncut version will only be made exclusively available in his album.
