the only and the best attraction of this drama was perfect acting of Bae Yong Joon

yujin & joonsang are really destined to each other after all the conflicts they had to surpassed, but the series took long (20 episodes) just to collaborate a simple plot that it can only take in lesser episodes and the finale are too simple after all they've gone thru...

I've seen a lot of Korean dramas but never watched this one until last week. I really don't know why I waited so long...Bae Yong-joon captured my heart. Once I started watching I couldn't stop. I watched it in 24 hrs. Needless to say, I am now one of the hundreds of fans that love BYJ. I am re-watching Winter Sonata this weekend...this time with my mom who also loves K-dramas. Fighting BYJ...saranghaeyo!

I have to say the ending is beautiful. But the script bothers me that the alleged half-siblings are falling in love, and if they didn't find out in time, what would happen? It seems a bit immoral to me.

At first, i don't have the interest to watch this drama... I just watched it since i dont have anything to watch but then after the first episode and then another and another, i just seem not to sleep anymore.... there is a need to watch and a need to end the drama.... this became one of my favorite.

Great series, just finished watching the last episodes. My only criticism right now is that I wish they'd snipped some of the gratuitous "waiting for the inevitable" by the sea in episode 19, and used that time to allow a bit more sentimental goodness at the end of episode 20. As someone else has also said, the ending was much too abrupt. But this is the second asian drama now where I've felt that way, so perhaps it is just the genre. I am disappointed that I feel disappointed, that is all - it was such a good series otherwise.

This is the first Korean drama that I have watched. I think I was fascinated by the difference between the Korean version of a soap opera and an American soap opera. Wished the ending could have included more of the two main characters and what happened with their lives. Sort of left unfinished. But it was wonderful and I fell in love with BYJ.

One of the first few Korean series that I've watched too - and it has to be one of the best so far. However, can directors please not linger TOO long on crying scenes? And can we not have TOO much crying each time? The storyline is good but I really want to complain about the ending - it should have been longer than a quick kiss and hug - the main characters should have some time to talk about what happened during those missing years and let the audience feel that there is closure!! I feel a little cheated out of a 'proper' happy ending!!!!

From california: Like the first korean drama i watched that led me to watch around 7 other popular ones-- yett i believe this one is still the bestesteest in tha whole widee world! It is EXTRAORDINARy nd one of a kind. It doesn't share a same theme nd all like other typical dramas thus: unique- muchos. Has a bittersweet ending, and stays in ppl's minds instead of the lame Ppl-dying-tragedy-thing ya know? :)

from California: Winter Sonata really moved me. I heard rumors that all korean dramas were the same, but this one was different. I'm glad that no one died even though the ending was in a way sad. The actors were really good. Some of them just got really annoying.

So this is the 3rd time Winter Sonata being aired in M'sia. Guess what?? This is the first time I managed to watch this drama on TV. I've also borrowed some VCDs from my friend but it's in Korean & only chinese subtitles! Even though I can't read chinese, I still enjoyed the drama.

hi im michelle from europe. i love winter sonata,,,,,, it really change my life it helped me to make a decision. the character of choi ji woo taught me how to stand for what i really feel , why i'll marry a man i dont really love just becoz of the people around me. i watched this series for almost a month and although i know whats gonna happen on the next episode i still cried . every character in this series bring their own way how to show the meaning of friendship, love, fidelity & life. this also shows the matter of the past & the future ,,,,, youre not only gonna cry you will learn how to fall in love .. so if i were you, you better watch it !!!!!! its the best !!! coz me , i fell inlove w mr. bae yong joon.

Hi! i'm from Malaysia n english educated, never interested in any type of asian serials until i watched Winter Sonata! I must confess that I was skeptical about the serial. But as soon as I inserted the first dvd to watch it, I had completely forgotten about the time and continued to watch until the last dvd. If you could see me at that particular time, my eyes were as red as an american rose and swollen. After a week, I watched it again and still cried. 2 weeks later, i watched again and I again. I told myself I would not cry as it was just a serial, but I was wrong. I watched another three times, I still cried. It's a serial worth watching. Kudos to Mr. Bae Yong Joon a.k.a "Yonsama". I fell in love with him !

Winter Sonata was I think the first Korean series I watched... and I think it really gives new moods compaired toawards things from Hong Kong or mainland. The feel and the scenery were just so beautiful and different. I think it does the emotional and some comedy all in one package.[first episode with the people cramed on a bus lol] Have to admit i cried a whole lot and love this series to the fullest. WATCH IT!!! lol.

Greetigs from Egypt..!
No words can explain what I feel towards this series.. It touches my heart deeply & took me far into Good Wonderful world of romance that we miss among our busy daily schedule & life.
I'm eagering to book & keep this time free daily to watch the series though it's aired late evening in the Egyptian TV but I'm waiting for it to refresh my mind.
My deep gratitude & congratulations for both Youjin & Johnsang for their very very clever acting that they make it real; their tears, their laughs, their deep breaths & their very real & normal way of giving. This is real acting. Thanks Guys.. We love you here in Egypt & eager to see you daily. Keep on blessed & excellent..
Yours, Sylvia Fakhry
