After I watched the original Burning Flame, I never thought I'd watch another series. It was draggy and boring, even though I'm a big fan of Wong Hei. But here I am again, I subjected myself to Burning Flame 3 because I had nothing left to watch and my friend offered to lend it to me. The good news is, the looks quotient has improved tremendously with Kevin Cheng. And the guy seems to have worked out a bit, which TVB...

This series is a waste of time. Myolie didn't have chemistry with either Kevin or Wong Hei. Wong Hei character was down right obsessive after awhile I started to think that this guy needs to check into a mental clinic. The character was so stubborn that it was annoying. Bosco story didn't fit in with the rest of the series storyline.

Burning Flames III is totally different from the first two Burning Flames series. This one focuses too much on the relationship between Myolie, Kevin, and Wong Hei. Their relationship is very uninteresting and way too long. There is too much talk in this series and not enough action. It lacked the feeling that burning flames I had. It felt like a completely different series. The fire scenes were too short. Bosco Wong does not fit the tough "look" of a firefighter.

Agree. It's hard to like anyone - everyone seemed a tad too tedious to watch. Kevin's character is too nice, Hei's too obstinate, Myolie's too dilly-dally which ultimately caused all the issues.
Not much character development except of Encore and Nam. Even Yee's (Encore's wife) flatmates seemed more interesting than the main casts.
Could have done well with more editing.

Kevin Cheng's character is almost too perfect, making it uninteresting to watch. Wong Hei needed to carry the show for the 3rd time but his stubbornness is tedious to watch after a while. Good lesson about how being unable to let go of something can destroy you though. That kind of self-destruction is scary and sad.

BF storyline is probably milked enough now though, we don't need a 4th.
