After all the hype about this show, I decided to watch it. And it was not a total disappointment. It started out good at the beginning but somehow around the middle part onwards, it stopped making sense.

The only good thing about this show is that I get to see Felix Wong and Michael Miu back together on screen again! Felix Wong is the cop who was wrongly accused and sent to prison for a crime he did not commit, and then after that he was released 15 years later after it was obvious there were some more suspicions about the case. But because of this incident which scarred him badly, he no longer believed that the justice system is fair, and decided to mete out his own justice being an "underground" judge.

Michael Miu is the police inspector of Felix's team, who had his suspicions of Felix, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt as he did not wish for his good friend to be wrongfully accused again. However, he sent probationary inspector Vincent Wong, the upright cop who did everything according to the book, to be Felix's partner and spy on his doings, resulting in Vincent's death, just before he was due to be married to Nancy Wu, another police officer in Michael's team and younger adopted sister of Jessica Hsuan.

Jessica Hsuan played an investigative journalist who reported on crime. Does this plot somehow sound like the "Detective Investigation Files" of a police inspector with an investigative journalist? Of course, Michael and Jessica's characters get together in the end, but they broke up because Jessica wanted marriage and felt Michael wasn't willing to commit to her. Michael was afraid to commit because he had a brain tumour and could die anytime, but refused to tell anyone.

Because of Michael's brain tumour, his senses became more sensitive, so he could tell or feel when someone was lying, hear things that others could not hear, and be more attuned to other's feelings. This is the part that does not really make much sense. Does a brain tumor really make someone become a superhuman of sorts?

The other part that does not make sense is the way Felix was operating. He was trying to cover up everything, and despite several warnings by Michael not to cross the line, Felix still wanted to use his own sense of justice to mete out punishment to those he felt the law could not catch up with.

Oscar Leung is also part of the supporting cast of police officers in Michael's team, but he looks so young that when he was arresting a juvenile delinquent, Oscar looks even younger than that guy!

Still, the plot is not too bad, and with two powerful main characters, this is a worthy show to watch. Just be prepared for the downhill part after the middle because somehow after the middle part of the show, it is not as captivating as the beginning.
