What It’s About:
* WARNING: SPOILERS*
This series starts off with the imprisonment of Yen. She was wrongfully convicted of killing her husband. After five years in jail, she returns to Hong Kong to get her life back on track.

Yen and her husband had a son together. But because she was in jail, she could not take care of her son and entrusted him in the care of her best friend, Wendy. Little did Yen know, Wendy was seeing Ki Jong behind her back. It was because of him that Yen was in jail. Ki Jong found out that he had a brother who had a lot of money. He wanted this money so he killed his twin brother and stole his identity. He became a different person - changing everything from his hairstyle to getting rid of the scar on his right leg. On top of impersonating and killing his brother, he also framed his wife, Yen, for the murder – thus sending her to jail.

Finding a job is hard for Yen because of her criminal past. She meets Leo Law and he gives her a job at his law firm. While working there, she comes across a man that looks like her husband. Overwhelmed with curiosity, she follows him and observes his behaviour. She realizes he is a lot like her husband. She also pulls Leo into helping her prove that Ben is her husband “Ki Jong”, which leads to some embarrassing situations.

Meanwhile, Leo is leading a good life with a fulfilling job and a wonderful family. However, his relationship with his wife, Susan, hits a snag when he finds out that his daughter is not his biological child. His wife does not know that he knows this. Leo even refused to pursue a case because it might reveal to everyone that Ying Ying is not his daughter. Eventually, the truth is revealed, and Raymond (Susan’s ex-boyfriend - the father of her child) wants both his lover and his daughter back. To make matters worse, Raymond is Leo’s business partner and they have been friends for about 10 years. Anyhow, Raymond is willing to sacrifice his friendship and basically stab his friend in the back by stealing his friend’s wife and child for himself. Susan realizes her feelings for Raymond are too strong, despite Leo’s forgiveness for her deception. And she chooses to leave her husband for her lover.

Raymond and Leo really despise each other. Leo fired him so Raymond decided to start his own law firm, just adding competition to the already burning hate between them. Just as things could not get any worse for Leo, an accident happens between him and Raymond. Sadly, this case goes to court and the outcome is not good for Leo: he ends up losing his lawyer’s license.

Just when Yen decides to give up on finding her son and to stop getting in trouble, she finds proof that Ben just might be her “dead” husband. With the help of Leo, and the support of Samuel (Ben’s father-in-law) she just might be able to prove that for once and all, Ben Yuen is the evil and manipulating man she said he was in the beginning.

Performances:
Bowie Lam as Leo:
Another great performance by Bowie as always. He played the role of Leo exceptionally well from the good father to the man that lost everything. I felt sorry for him when he lost everything, his character did not deserve it. But it also made him see the other side of things and showed him that appearances can be deceiving. Leo also learned that not everything is fair, especially the court system.

Louisa So as Yen:
Amazing job! I don’t remember seeing Louisa in many series but her performance in "Misleading Track" made me think of her as a very good actress. She got the facial expressions and emotions right and generally, she was amazing; very convincing. I hope to see her in upcoming series.

Christine Ng as Susan:
Not bad actually. But I really disliked her character; I mean, how can you still love your ex after your husband forgives you for deceiving him for so many years? I mean, Leo accepted the truth and was willing to forgive his wife but she still chose her ex. She made me hate her character so I guess her performance was convincing enough.

Deric Wan as Yeun Man San/Lau Ki Jong/Ben:
I think he did a very good job of portraying his character. He could act nice at times and really evil at times. At the beginning, I thought he was a really nice man, and at times I couldn’t tell if he was lying or not. But as the series progressed, I saw the truly evil man that he was. Deric Wan’s performance was excellent; his expressions and acting skills are amazing!

Couple Analysis:
Leo & Susan:
Funny, I never thought that these two would be paired together. I mean Bowie is a respectable guy and in this series, Christine looks so...I don’t know the word to describe her. The only other series that I remember her in is "War of In-Laws", and in there she was a real lady. I didn’t think she could change that much. But I guess a good actress can pull it off.

Raymond & Susan
Man, Raymond looks too old to be going out with Susan. I mean, you can see his grays sometimes. Their chemistry together was good though.

Ben & Yen
I guess she really loved him, to trick her mother so she could marry him. And when she saw him on the streets, when he was supposed to be dead, she believed it was him. Bet she never knew how evil he could be. And she treated him so well, and in return, he cheats on her with her best friend and frames her for murder. But I’m glad she saw who her husband really was and revealed his evil doings.

Ben & Wendy
This man is very disloyal to his wife. And I can’t believe Wendy knew everything but didn’t say anything. She even helped Ben with his evil plans. Even when Yen found out the truth about Wendy, she still forgave her. In my opinion, they didn’t act like they loved each other. But the scenes where they were fighting were good. And when she was about to expose him to Jenny and Yen at the same time - if only that happened! But she chose to save her own skin.

Ben & Jenny
And yet another wife. I think they look cute together; they can really act as husband and wife.

Final Comments & Thoughts:
I think this series is great. It has a little bit of everything- mystery, murder, love, revenge and deception. "Misleading Track" is a series definitely worth watching. What I liked most about this series was that the lead characters didn't have complicated love lives. For once, romance didn't play the big part in determining the end. One thing is for sure, expect twists and turns when you least expect them.
