The Gateau Affairs

Storyline:
This TVB series is about baking cakes. It starts off with Myolie having a misunderstanding with Joe. She looks for revenge, but she finds more than she bargained for when she was employed at Joe's cake shop. Myolie is very interested in cakes but she doesn't know how to bake a wonderful cake, so she admires Joe's beautiful cakes and begins to admire him as well...
There are also other subplots, which are quite interesting to add to the series.

Comments:
The storyline is very good but sometimes the way the people make cakes is unbelievable and seems to be unrealistic. But it also makes the series unique and the cakes look splendid. The story is good but towards the end it drags and becomes annoying. Bobo and Jack's relationship always dragged on just so that their subplot could continue, which wasn't very good either. But overall this series is funny and pretty interesting in the idea of baking cakes. The ending of the series did not satisfy me but I think that overall it was okay. It wasn't too bad but it didn't seem like a perfect ending.

Cast:
Joe Ma
Joe was very good in this series but I don't understand why he always has the characters that seem to be tough on the outside and warm on the inside. He played this type of character in 'Revolving Doors of Vengeance' as well. I think he did great anyway, but hopefully he will have a different role in the future.

Myolie Wu
Myolie's character was kind of annoying at the end, but I must admit that she portrays her character very well. She is always a good actress and cries so realistically. When she cries I feel so sorry for her. I think that Myolie did a wonderful job, just like in all her other TVB series.

Bobo Chan
Bobo is really cute and I think that she played her character very well. She was very humorous and added some laughs to the series.

Jack Wu
Jack Wu was also very cute so his pairing with Bobo was very nice. I reckon he is very funny as well, so it's great that he can add some humour.

Annie Man
Annie was good in this series but I think that she didn't get enough screen time and lines to say. But overall she did a good job!

Conclusion:
I think that this series was good but I didn't like how the ending had to be dragged along. I reckon this series' idea of cakes was very well done and that the cakes were really appealing. The cast did a brilliant job and the storyline is very good. I would recommend most people to watch it if they like a predictable but interesting series.
