When I first heard news of a new Journey to the West series, I was thrilled since I enjoyed the first two that TVB produced. But when I saw the poster hanging on the walls of the video store, I became skeptical. On the poster, it shows Dicky Cheung in a white costume with silver armor, Edmund Leung as the monk, and Eric Kot with Sam Lee as the other two disciples....

Oh I totally LOVE this series dicky hands down plays the best moneky king ever. haha I luv jimmy and gillian romance in this series. But i wish it could have been longer. Actually jimmy was my favorite character in this series aside from dicky of course. Thats just probably because I love jimmy lin way too much.

this series is really good..i loved it~~ it could hav been flawless if charlene wasnt such a terrible actress!! i wished dicky and kristy could end up together though. charlene's fake cuteness and perkiness got really annoying. when i was watching her scenes, i was like "oh, p-lease" >.<"

Charlene was a terrible actress. She definitely tried to pull a "Ruby Lin" and failed miserably. She's so fake at being cute and playful. And she's bone thin so they need to stop giving her skimpy outfits. Gillian was much better. I feel like her relationship with Jimmy Lin should have been played out more.
And although it was really really entertaining, the Monkey was definitely not in character. Buddhism wasn't even that big a part in this series when it was supposed to be the main thing. And the special effects made me want to hit myself.

Note: Don't watch it if youre a loyal Journey To The West fan, this series is not faithful to the story or the characters, its a irrating twist of monky fall in love, monk giggling and prancing and ghosts being too involve..so you might as well save your money. Don't bother. Its not JTW at all.
