How long 24 VCDs Foreword Does Miu Kiu Wai reprise this role well after Cheng Siu Chau? I finally get this drama from a second hand store after so many years. This is the last drama by Yung Mei Ling that makes it very memorable. Unlike other dramas that I do lots of storytelling, I shall not be a spoiler to reveal too much of the story but will talk on the characters as it is best to watch it to...
Add a Review read moreMichael Miu Kiu Wai (Mieu Kieu Vi) portrayed Chor Lau Heung (So Luu Huong) perfectly. Compared to Adam Cheng, MM captured the essence of Gu Long's character as a happy, carefree spirit. He is somewhat nomadic (free, loves to travel, doesn't like being tied down to one place) but he possesses the important values in friendship, loyalty, and even love. MM is also aesthetically much more handsome than Adam Cheng with his built and quick smile. More than that,...
Add a Review read moreI just finished watching "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung" after not watching for several years. I enjoyed it so much that I watched it twice. I think this series has a great storyline and it's not too long and it's not too short, so it's just right. I've always loved this series and had been looking to rent it. I made a copy for myself as soon as I got a hold...
Add a Review read moreMany people say that Adam Cheng's version of Chor Lau Heung in the 70's was the best of all Chor Lau Heungs, but in terms of compelling storyline, I thought the Mui Kiu Wai version of 84 was actually better. The cast of the 80's certainly could not match up to Adam Cheng's version but perhaps the 70's version reminds me of reading Gu Long's novels too much (I find his style too frustrating...

Producer/director successfully translated the mystery element from the novel. It was very enjoyable story with many interesting sub-plots. No draggy and dull moments.. everything flew smoothly.. love it! Great casts, special thumbs up for Simon Yam and Austin Wai. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is only because I personally doesn't like Chor Lau Heung character and even though I like Michael Miu, the make up was a little bit too much here :D A must see!

From the other posts you can tell I love Michael Miu & Barbara Yung pairings. This one was one of my favorite because it had a great story line. I loved the little side plots that were ongoing.
Loved the actors in here. My favorite had to be Chen Wing Chun he made this movie even more funny with his drunken wisdom!
Also the costumes were really nice in here! :)

I little too much makeup on Michael as CLH in this one but he still looks good! He plays a great CLH but I still like the '79 old version better, but this one is a close second. I feel like the VCD version cut out some scenes and I have no idea what happened to Woo Tip Fa and Go Ah Lam in the end because I feel like they cut that part out. The bad guy is also HAWT!!

Michael as CLH is pretty much flawless! Just the ending scene alone showcases his talents where he can convey so many different emotions within a few seconds. His physique and handsome face also further makes the character even more charming. The biggest highlights of this series for me is the awesome chemistry between Michael and Barbara as well as Simon Yam acting as the antagonist. This is definitely one of my favorite series and I highly recommend it to everyone who is a wuxia fan.
