Introduction:
I thought it was a bit weird having Samuel and Charmaine together as they do not seem to be the immediate couple that people think of, but I think they worked quite well together, with both giving a fresh and effective touch to the series.

The head nurse, who is also their lecturer, told them that being a nurse would require the four hearts; love {oi sum}, sympathy {toong ching sum}, responsibility {chat yum sum} and confidence {soone sum}.

Character Introduction
Leads
Yook Hew Ling: Again, she plays a very loving person but she is a very clumsy student nurse. However, as the three years of training go on and many important stages in her life are reached, she slowly matures to a white clothed angel. Her dream is to work in the children's ward, and when she does finally get her chance, she is over the moon. It all goes well until one of the babies die. This is a big blow to Hew Ling, so she decides to resign as she does not want to experience losing another baby. However, when she is about to leave, Yoong Duc Gey asks her to stay because he finds himself attracted to her. Hew Ling at the same time has felt the same and decides to stay. In the end, she is one of the best students out of the class, which was a big improvement as she was one of the worst in the beginning.

Yoong Duc Gey ~ His dream is to be a male version of Florence Nightingale, but his mum, {Chu Mei Mei} Rosemary, objects to it right from the start. So Yoong Duc Gey lies to her a nd says he is working at the airport when in actual fact he is serving patients. At the beginning he fancies Go Hew Lam, but then she rejects him, he slowly finds himself attracted to the loud, but caring Yook Hew Ling.

Go Hew Lam ~ Unlike Yook Hew Ling and Yoong Duc Gey, her dream is not to be a nurse but to be a doctor. This is because her whole family are doctors and she is under pressure to be one as well so that she will fit in with the family. At the beginning she is a very cold character. So when she has to share a room with Yook Hew Ling, she is not all that pleased. The two do not get off to a good start. Go hew Lam has a very wide knowledge of medical terms because she was going to train as a doctor but failed the test, so she decided to gain more experience before becoming a doctor. She hates being a nurse until she herself goes through an operation because of a kidney problem. From this, she realised just how important nurses are, and that doctors are actually no better and stayed as a nurse.

Supporting Cast
Chan Kar Lok, Bo Bo, Ar Leng, Dai Lor Fai
This is the rest of the training nurse gang. Chan Kar Lok is the one that cannot stand being bored. Bo Bo is the one that is scared of nearly everything, especially blood which may seem a bit weird seeing as she is going to be a nurse. In the end, Chan Kar Lok and Bo Bo get together. Ar Leng is her nickname, her reason for being a nurse because she wants to marry a handsome doctor. In the end she does find someone, but not a doctor. Dai Lo Fai is the mummy's boy, he works hard to get money to support the rest of the family. At fist he actually fancies Yook Hew Ling, but then realises she doesn't fancy him.

Goo Goo ~ She is the head nurse in the ICU ward. She is a fun charcter and finds herself getting very close to Yook Hew Ling, who reminds her of herself when she was younger, because she too was a clumsy student nurse. In the beginning, she hates children and refuses to have any of her own. But then as she gets closer to Yook Hew Ling who is crazy about children, she changes her mind. By that time however, it is too late because she had been taking contraceptive pills since the beginning of her marriage. Then her husband decides to go and have an affair.

I felt sorry for Goo Goo, who was a very nice character but had a pretty sad ending to her marriage and parents. I'm not sure that after seeing the series I could trust the training nurses as much, especially after seeing how clumsy and irresponsible they can be. Apart from that, I think the series is actually a hit!

Rating
I rate it a smashing 4/5! It has a different feel compared to the normal hospital series that concentrate mainly on the doctors. I would definitely recommend this series to everybody, it is fabulous!
