This is tough since we are talking about all genres here. I usually list them according to the different languages.
Summer Snow - by Sissel
Winter Light - by Linda Ronstadt
Mac-Talla - by Griogal Cridhe
醒不来 - 王菲 (Unable to wake up - by Faye Wong)
Teru No Uta - by Aoi Teshima (themesong from Tales of Earthsea)
uh, this is kind of hard.. cos i get bored with most songs after a long time..
1) Jay Chou - Yuan You Hui
2) Jolin Tsai - Dao Dai
3) Missy Higgins - They weren't there
4) Tank - Zhuan Shu Tian Shi
5) Kim Ah Joong - Byul (Star)
Looks like the geriatric crowd needs support.
1. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
2. Layla - Derek & The Dominoes
3. Cold Shot - Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
4. Don't Give Up - Kate Bush & Peter Gabriel
5. Dome Epais - Lesley Garrett (lots of versions of this one for the opera lovers ;) )
My top five favourite songs would probably be:
1) Leif Erikson - Interpol
2) Obstacle 2 - Interpol
3) Icing Sugar - The Cure
4) The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen
5) Lovesong - The Cure
Now you're talking, alternative music! I'm not the biggest of Interpol fans (actually, I'm a fan of very few musical acts), but I like them; they're one of the better bands nowadays. My favourite song of theirs is "Evil". Have you heard their newest album "Our Love to Admire" yet?
I also like The Cure quite a bit and I really like "Inbetween Days", a top 30 song of mine, and "Boys Don't Cry" and "Just Like Heaven" are pretty neat too.
I know little of Echo & the Bunnymen, but I've heard of them a few times during the '80s. I kind of like "The Back Of Love". They remind of the The Jesus and Mary Chain. Some may have heard The Jesus and Mary Chain song "Just Like Honey" from "Lost in Translation". My favourite song from them is "Head On".
Since you like songs from The Cure and Echo & the Bunnymen, I presume you like post-punk? When people think of post-punk, Joy Division comes to mind. Do you know the band? Interpol is often compared to them and that's a compliment because Joy Division is one of the most respected bands in the UK. At first, I had a hard time liking them because their music was so raw as heard in "She's Lost Control", but the more I listened to them, the more I was fascinated by their rawness. The Cure has a really nice cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart".
I'm editing again....
EDIT 2:
1)听袁惟仁弹吉他--SHE
2) 只对你有感觉--Farenheit (still don't like them) and Hebe
3) Say U Love Me -- Jason and Lara (ISWAK theme song-never even seen ISWAK, but I LOVE THE THEME!!!)
4) Bu De Bu Ai -- Pan Wei Bo and Xuan Zi
5) Wo Bu Shi Huang Rong -- Wang Rong
Since you're editing, I'm doing it too because taste can't stay put.
1. Ceremony - New Order
2. Temptation - New Order
3. Atmosphere - Joy Division
4. True Faith - New Order
5. Your Silent Face - New Order
Originally, I tried really hard to add some diversity, but I wasn't completely honest; I just like my favourite band's songs very, very much.
24 Hour Party People
Control
strange thread misfire
1. Zhu Hua'er Tai - By Jay Zhou (Zhou Jie Lun)
2. Chinese paladin 3 Theme song
3. Ai Jiang Shan, Geng Ai Mei Ren
4. Superstar
5. Mice of love- By Yang Chen Gang
5 just ain't enough.
So I'll cheat and go for whatever pops up in my head.
In NO PARTICULAR ORDER (because 5 really is a ridiculously small number).
Michael Jackson - Who is it
Corvus Corax - Ballade de Mercy¨
Yat-Kha - Sodom i Gomora
Tang Chao - Taiyang
Deine Lakaien - The Walk to the Moon
1. Howie Day - She Says
2. Michelle Branch - Breathe
3. Depeche Mode - In Your Room
4. FIR - Lydia
5. Taylor Swift - Fearless
1. Luna Sea - I For You (I don't even know how to explain it, but this song is in my opinion the epitome of perfection).
2. Dir en grey - -Mushi- (The raw emotion in this song, as well as the emotion it invokes in me is incredible).
3. Queen ft. David Bowie - Under Pressure (my favourite Queen song).
4. Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (the history of the recording of this song, plus it has one of the most beautiful bass lines ever - James Jamerson did lying on his back what most people couldn't do standing up).
5. Radiohead - Just (because you do it to yourself, you do, and that's what really hurts).
