Do Kiu Fung and Lee Chum Foon occupy similar roles in their authors' canon?

At first glance, you don't find too many similarities between Jin Yong's Kiu Fung and Gu Long's Lee Chum Foon, but upon closer inspection, you might discover that they seem to parallel each other's roles in their creators' respective fictional worlds.

1. Both were among the most tragic heroes in their respective authors' canon.

2. Both were notorious for their Bacchanalian habits.

3. Both were more mature than the typical wuxia protagonist.

4. Both were renowned for their superior prowess...above and beyond most of their authors' other protagonists.

5. Both made extraordinary personal sacrifices for matters of principle.

There are some parallels between these two paragons of heroism but also one major difference.

LCF's tragedy was self inflicted while KF just had bad things happen to him.

These two shared one more trait: they each were the only men capable of resisting the most seductive women of their times (e.g. Madame Ma and Lam Sin Yee).

And another trait! I would vote for these 2 over any other kontendur in any wuxia survivor fight over here.
