maggie studied in England (UK) since she was 12, moving away from her family, even though her father wasnt happy with her decisions..
maggie stayed there until her early adulthood, she stayed for about 10-14 years..
she studied and graduated OXFORD college, and was excepted to OXFORD university (she didnt go do to her boom in tv showbiz)..
she was spoted by a Miss HK personal and invited to part-take in the 94 pagent on the street of HK, not long after coming back from England..
she was also a stock exchanger in England for a period of time, she was also in the fashion business..
she met her bf Frederick Tung, a Shanghainese corporate CEO and her boyfriend for 9 years (a self-made millionare, nephew to a very rich business man)..
and if you wanna hear maggie and her fluences in english and french, u can see it in Let's Face It..

Ok, i think Michelle can be put on the list. I saw her in clips speaking english, a bit of a chinese accent.. but nonetheless, she sounded fluent in it.. not like memorized or maintenance rehearsal..

i know maggie cheung ho yee is very good in english because before she joined the pagent she actually worked in the Stock exchange of england, that's where she meet her first boyfriend.

and isn't Michelle Ye supposedly very good with language? no matter which?! i also heard she was studying some law degree. true?

flora was a jo9urnalist for a while so she's pretty darn good!

waht degree does Jessica have? and Bernice?
Michelle speaks good english, mandarin, cantonese and french! She definitely wud make a good lawyer! hehe... But I lvoe listening to her in mandarin most She sings very well in English too!

As for those saying Michelle has chinese accent, its like how westerners speak fluent chinese but still has that tad bit of westerner accent so I think it can actually be forgone. If Michelle's english is still not perfect enuf (for chinese std) I'd say the rest of HK artists stands no chance of being called fluent... :P In the clip where she interviewed Paul, when she started you can tell it's a chinese, but after she rattled off it was pretty good with Am accent.

I think English is not such a big BIG problem for HK artists. It's mandarin!!! Try watching their interviews or watsoever that they need to speak in mandarin, it's hilarious, get you to roll on the flr when they directly 'translate'!

Can I ask sumthing, why are the interviews carried out in mandarin nowadays? I'm not from HK so I'm not so sure... Don't you speak cantonese more? Or does it depends on the station that does the interview? Is cantonese or mandarin your national language?

I think it is because Mandarin is CHina's offical language.

but anyways, Michelle does have a chinese accent.. but it is passable for me because she wasn't born in the US. IT is hard to lose an accent.. unless you are trained for it like the news reporter.

All interviews conducted outside HK or maybe its not okayed with TVB has to be in Mandarin and are forbidden to speak cantonese by TVB (If you can't there really isn't anything you can do about it though)

really? I did not understand the clip which she sang in English. But lived there for 4 years will not make her fluent, but ok. She could carry out a good amount of sentences in her clip.

Also, from my point of view, speaking English better than one another will not make he/she a better actor/actress or a better person.
