I recently found these two images of Maggie Cheung playing Empress Dowager Lu in The Conqueror's Story and the real (?) paintings of the Empress Dowager. I must say TVB has done a good job matching up Maggie's outfits with the paintings available of Lu Zhi.

Wow! Holy smokes! TVB's attentiveness to detail and wardrobe accuracy really makes the historical dramas worth watching. I really didn't know it was as close as that! Kind of scary, when you think about it.
