    Default Released VCD/DVD Questions

Just letting everyone know that the tv series State of Divinity with Li Yapeng is currently showing on AZNTV monday through friday at 4am PT and 12:30pm PT (rerun) with english subtitles. It's called The Magic Swords of Ling (aka Laughing in the Wind).

It started on July 11 so I missed 10 episodes! Darn. I'm waking up at 4am tomorrow to watch.

Plus the first ten episodes is coming out on dvd on October 25, 2005 with english subs.

Default DVD version of Xiao Ao Jian Hu in Singapore

Anyone know if any shops in SG is selling XAJH in dvd? The first 2 discs in my cd set is getting bad. The China XAJH in my books is the best wuxia series and I want to keep a good copy of it.

Where did you buy your XAJH 01 in SG? I checked with all the Vcd shops and none of them stock it.

XAJH was quite easily available in Singapore and Malaysia a few years ago. It's only in recent months that it completely disappeared from the shelves. And to think I saw one in the shops 6 months ago but decided not to buy it because I didn't like the packaging

Mine's the China version which I got from a sales assistant in a video chain. Her China relative was visiting and brought the set down for her and she didn't have time to watch it so she sort of gave it to me but I paid her S$40 which is a fair price.

I love the haunting music and the incredible scenery in that series. The love story was very uncomplicated since it revolves around LHC, his shih mei, and RYY who was absolutely gorgeous for someone was was supposed to be 29 yo at that time. She was able to look very young, wilful, mischevious and tender. Absolutely in love with her since.
It does not overdo with the CGI unlike all the recent releases for the past 2 years with loads of CGI and bad acting and no storyline in place of solid script and acting.

I've watched that series 3 times at least and still want to watch it again.
I'd rank it No. 1, followed by LOCH (China) for No. 2 and TLBB (China) for No. 3. HSDS is a distant 5th.
Actually Wu Jing's Tai Chi Master is also awesome as he has beautiful fighting style and a very expressive face. So I'd place this series as 4th on my list. It also boasts authentic Cheng style of Tai Chi.

For historical series I must admit I loved Yong Chen followed by Kang Xi. There are also other China produced historical dramas that I rather liked.

As you can see I prefer China produced series over HK. Taiwan stuff is a complete turnoff as it's long talk followed by some fake sword twirling and then more long talk. The recording is usually all live which is very unprofessional.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

For US customers, Tai Seng is going to release an English subtitled version soon and it's NTSC.
